Half a stone for my holiday (just under three weeks)

My weight has gone up, combination of meds and a complete love of food, plus tiredness, stress eating, plus sugar addiction. Have just under 3 weeks until my holiday and want to lose 6-7lbs. Plan is as follows:

As much exercise as I can do (already good with walking but will build on this)
Less food
Less carbs, have eaten a cereal bar this morning for breakfast as nothing else suitable around. Also not looking to spend a lot of money on food.

Plan for today is as follows:

20,000 steps
Some nuts for lunch
Lots of water and black tea
2 burgers with two potions of steamed veg for tea
Hot sugar free squash/diet drinks if I feel I need that.

I am going to post on this thread every day with my progress, dont mind if nobody wants to read it but it will keep me motivated. Will also post my weight every day, I know some people say you should't weigh every day, but for me this helps and I need to feel that I am gradually making progress.

So today.

Starting weight is 8st12 go me

Hi. I'm doing the same except we go away on 19th Aug so I've got less than 2 weeks!! I'm planning on low carbing so need to suss it out on my lunchbreak today. I'm doing a Monday minifast as I have no idea what to have for breakfast. I'm 76 kg this morning which is disastrous. I'm usually around 72 so need serious action even to get down to that or none of my summer clothes will fit me. I'll be living in my swimming costume!

How's today been? I had no breakfast, lunch was salad with prawns and smoked salmon. Went swimming with the kids after work and had a chicken omlette and salad for tea. So a pretty good day. Have a carb withdrawal headache now though so am lying in bed Confused

Had a cereal bar for breakfast (only thing around). Then I had a few salted peanuts and a bag of salted almonds for lunch (I am doing lo carb so ok). I ate three small slices of cheese mid afternoon and I have just had two roast chicken portions and some strir fry veg. Have only done about 14,700 steps but may get out for a walk with the dog. Feel quite pleased with myself but also have a headache. I am still drinking diet fizzy drinks (carbs pretty low) as cannot give up anything. Also have had lots of water, a black tea and a sugar free hot squash. Weighed in at Boots and was two pounds heavier than on my scales this morning, guess its cause it was a bit later in the day. Really trying to take it a day at a time, as tend to go into panic mode when dieting or hungry if that makes sense. You sound as if you have had a great day. Onwards and downwards we can do this.

I'll weigh tomorrow morning and see if any change. The first couple of days are hardest for me as my stomach adjusts to less food. Best of luck.

Well done, thats fab, 1 pound down for me taking me down to 8st11. Just eating some cheese for breakfast which feels a bit wierd. Have a good day

Ooh can I join? I go in 2.5 weeks and am trying desperately to lose a few lbs, 9st2.8lb this morning (I do love my very accurate scales)! Am trying to do as much exercise as I can fit in but just feel so tired after work, I'm only fit for laying on the sofa!

I can't fit in the exercise with work & 3 kids so am just going for the food this time. Exercise starts in September when they're back at school. Have a good day everyone ☺

Are you doing fasting on certain days? If not, be careful your body doesn't go into starvation mode and weight loss slow down as that's not a lot to be eating daily if that's every day. Sorry for being nosey if not.

I really want to get half a stone off by the end of September and am similar starting weight to you so will be interested to see how it goes for you. C

Good luck, great to have some buddies. The only exercise I fit in is walking cause I dont drive. Had cheese for breakfast this morning, feeling irritable. I am not doing any fast days cause this does.n't really work for me. We can do this

I've been good again today. No breakfast, lunch was salad prawns avacado & smoked salmon (all from Aldi 😉) and for tea I've just had a steak with 2 fried eggs and salad. Plus raspberries blackberries with full day yoghurt. So we'll see tomorrow morning if it's had an effect ☺ I'm not fasting but am only eating in an 8 hour window hence the no breakfast.

I have been good lo carb way today, but tbh felt tired, odd stomached and irritable, think it is the sugar withdrawal. I had the following:

Breakfast - Some slices of cheddar cheese
Lunch - Fried bacon and mushrooms. A few salt and vinegar flavour peanuts
Mid afternoon - A bag of salted almonds 6.6g of carbs for the bag
Dinner - Stir fried veg with king prawns

I have been drinking diet drinks and diet squash to survive. Think I am fairly low carb. Hoping for a slight result tomorrow, just feel so yuck think it must be the sugar withdrawal, really hope it passes.

Morning, two pounds off for me today taking me to 8st9, sure it is just water after eating excesses of the last couple of weeks, have decided that the irritability is going to be worth it. Struggling with breakfast ideas, thinking full fat yoghurt and berries, will go shopping to get them later. Will have bacon this morning even though it really doesn't appeal at this time of the day lol

Have you looked at low or no carb breakfasts online? I find I really need breakfast to fuel me and get my metabolism going for the day.

I had large flat mushroom the other morning with spinach and feta and it was delicious.
Yoghurt and berries is another good one or omelette with mushrooms and salmon.

Morning. I'm 74 kg this morning which is 2kg off in 2 days! So chuffed. It's going so well. I'm not having breakfast just water and a cup of tea. I'm trying to fast for as long as possible then just eat in a small window. Am meeting some friends tonight for a meal and drinks but am going to drive and still go for a steak and salad or something like that. It's worth it for such a short amount of time. I'm also going to the Bloodstock festival at the weekend as a good friend is a drummer in one of the bands. So we'll be backstage with foodtents etc. That's also going to be a test 😆

Going to go shopping for yoghurt and berries today as think that is my preferred option. I am meeting a friend for a meal and drinks tomorrow. Think I will be ok on the food front, will probably try and go for steak or similar with salad/veg. I will so want a pint of cider though and I think that will probably botch everything up so better not I guess. However, it will b e worth it, the weight is coming off.

Ive had a good couple of days but unsure about my scales now - weighed this morning 9st2lb (hurrah!) then straight back on for a double check and 9st5.4lb about 5 seconds after! Weighed again after work as I was a bit cheesed off and 9st2.4lb so hoping that's more accurate as I won't be impressed if I've gained 3lbs in a day...

Another pound off for me today 8st8, think it will slow down soon, either that or my resolve will start to weaken. Just had berries and greek yoghurt for breakfast which was fine. Have a good ay everyone.

73.7 kg this morning. I had a day of temptation yesterday. Took the kids to the cinema and resisted any of their popcorn. Just had a cup of tea. Then they had kfc for lunch while I had a prawn salad and a berry smoothie. Went for a delicious meal in the evening and had a starter and a main but no carbs really. Actually a little flatbread as it was so delicious with my starter. Drank water while the others were drinking wine. Then had a cup of tea rather than my usual latte with 2 sugars. So happy with how I coped with the day all in all ☺

😆😆ok maybe tmi but I've been to the loo then reweighed myself and I'm 73.5 kg. So I'm claiming that for today. That's 2.5 kg in 4 days which I can hardly believe. I've never done anything like this before and it's nice to see that with a bit of will power it can be done. Have a good day ☺

Well done both of you. That's fab. Especially having some willpower going out for a meal!!

I had my weigh in this morning. I was 9st .5lbs on Monday morning and was 8st 11.7lbs this morning so really happy with this week so far.

Weight HIIT workout today for me!

Having family staying tomorrow night but going to try and limit myself to a small bowl of pasta with veg and I'm making mini cakes for dessert so I can get away with 1. Limited myself to two glasses of wine max.

Wow thats really good losses both of you. Today is temptation day for me. Didn't find yesterday that hard but today feel hungry, have eaten some yoghurt and berries and also some cheese cause starving. Out with a friend tonight, know I can do the healthy eating but I am wondering if one pint of cider is going to mess the whole diet up.
