Eating less and moving more

So, I am one of those who has tried every diet - always on a diet etc but this has only caused me to gain even more weigh and I am not at my heaviest I've ever been...
I don't need to lose a lot - 1.5 stone would bring me into a very healthy BMI and I'm not looking to do it quickly or with any strick "fad diets".
I want to have 3 meals a day which I enjoy
No snacking
Healthy fruit for puddings
10,000 steps a day
Work out (gym / run) 4 times a week
No takeaways
Healthy choices when out
The main focus is to eat less and move more. I am going to be tracking what I eat into my fitness pal to help me eat less but I have set a realistic target for 1,400 calories a day.
I am only going to weigh myself on a Monday morning so I can keep a check of my progress but hopefully not become too disheartened by weighing everyday.
If there's anyone out there who would like to join me then I'd love to have the company!!

The exact reason you rebound each time is because you eat less and move more!

If you think about it, your body has been saving you from starvation (this is the rebound after a diet). This is a normal behaviour of someone who diets. You don't want to shock your body again as the metabolic damage is hard to undo from the yoyoing.

I don't know if that calorie limit is right for you but it should be around this calculation for fat loss: body weight in lb x 10. With your macros set very differently from what mfp suggests. Bring the carbs down to 25 or 30%.

I need to lose about 1.5 stone too and have joined MFP - I'll add you if you like? It's given me a target of around 1650 calories a day but I'm breastfeeding so allowing myself a bit more so I don't affect my supply! It's really made me realise how much I was mindlessly eating before..... Shock

Eating less has never helped me lose weight..my metabolism slows down and I get stuck on the same kilos
When I gain some pounds - I start eating only protein food (smoothie for breakfast, eggs, meat and salad for lunch and dinner, but never mix the proteins - always 1 type of protein!). I usually get rid of the extra kilos pretty fast then revert to normal eating, without abusing with carbs.
Moving more - yes, this is working for me. But only cycling, running, weight exercises in the gym. In other words, more intensive exercising.

It's working for me (eating less) I'm eating 1400 cals a day and I've lost 9lbs in 2 weeks. I feel much better on it and not starving. Couple of stone to go, and I can see this being my way of life with extra calories at weekends when I hit target. Fingers crossed!

Why would eating less and moving more make you rebound?
What is the alternative which doesn't lead to rebound?

I am maintaining a 3 stone loss achieved by ELMM. The only time I rebound is when I slip back into EMML.

DebCee...... if you do it sensibly then yes of course it works, but people tend to do it drastically and dramatically, causing all sorts of metabolic damage. So take it easy, aim for body weight in pounds x 10 for a sensible fat loss. And by fat loss, it means not just losing muscle/water. Anything more than that where you are literally clawing the walls with hunger and depriving yourself means you will rebound as it's not sustainable. Plenty of info on the net about it.

Just one about negative energy balance.
