Hi Annloves it's a bit quiet here so far ...... I've been doing this for about a week, I did it a few years ago and really enjoyed it. You don't feel like you're on a diet and it makes sense as a way of eating to me
I did this for the first time at the start of 2011 using the book and CD. I only started to regain weight when I got pregnant at the start of 2013. I didn't bother to loose the weight after DS and had my DD in February. I've been using the app for 15 days now, I think it's great! I've dropped half an inch around my middle and I'm down 8lbs.
This is definitely the best way to loose weight!!

hi Franny you found it! How is the app different to the book? Should I get it?
Not much different really it's all the same stuff. However there are testimonials etc in it. Plus I like to get immersed in things when I put my mind to it so I guess you can read the book over and over.
My younger sister has lost a significant amount of weight using the app only. She did it about a year ago and has sustained it without trying much beyond the 21 days
I think I should join.
I had my healthy eating/low carb diet all planned to start today. This is about my 3rd attempt to "start today". My fridge is full of all the right stuff. I did a diet like this some years ago and lost all the baby weight and felt great.
However, today on Start Day, I have ( so far) - finished off an easter egg, found some cheesecake in the fridge that if I hadn't eaten it would have been thrown out and wasted, and some children's maom chews . :-(
I seriously need motivation and will power. My clothes are too tight - I can only manage 2 pairs of trousers and even then I have to leave the button undone. Will this Gastric BAnd help?
Can anyone explain a tiny bit what this is about? So I know whether to download the app or not. It's £4.99...
The basic principle is that diets don't work. You persevere through grit and will power to stop yourself eating "bad foods" starve yourself half the time and inevitably you give up and end up putting more weight back on than you had when you started.
Paul McKenna advocates that the secret is to a) eat when you're hungry b) stop sheb you're full, c) enjoy every bite (chewing 20 times) d) only eat foods you actually want to eat, no special low sugar etc foods
You have to listen to a hypnotic trance every day to get the message to sink in. You'll feel better because you're not depriving yourself of anything and you start to feel motivated to exercise.
I really do believe this is the best weight loss system.

Note: I definitely am eating about a third, if not less, than I was eating two weeks ago!

Can I join please? Downloaded the app and ready to go. I have used hypnosis successfully before and it's not like I don't know what a healthy diet looks like I just lack the ability to put it into practice at the moment. Hoping this will give me the encouragement I need to stick to a plan
Anyone else having trouble with the videos on the app? I downloaded it yesterday, stuck all my info in and managed to watch the first one. Then, raring to go this morning, tried to watch the next one and it keeps crapping out about 20 seconds in. Annoying!
Great to see so many people. Who's doing what? I'm doing I can make you thin. I've been doing it for a week today and love it.
Things I've noticed so far are: I find it very hard to know when I'm hungry as my metabolism etc is so mucked up by diets, so I'm trying to check in with myself every few hours to see if I'm hungry and if not then. I go another hour.
Also, that I've got into the habit of packing the food in "because it's healthy" eg vegetables then last night I realised I was just making myself feel uncomfortably full and in the new "stop when I'm full" regime that's doesn't fit.
Another one is that I often read, talk, watch tv when I'm eating so I'm not paying attention to the food and before I know it it's gone and I don't feel satisfied so in my new regime I'm trying not to do this.

I'm on day 16, going well but I'm incredulous sometimes that I can eat what I like and still loose weight.
Just back from a good long walk took my DS to soft play. I'd usually drive so pleased with that!
I'm doing the same nellen, only on day 1 with the app but I started the book a little while ago. Ate "more mindfully" for a while but didn't get round to finishing it and got distracted by new exercise regime (also ditched that as I've had a range of bugs) and was inspired again when your previous thread cropped up in Active. So thank you!
That's fab Franny, good work! I got it to work at lunchtime, not sure what was up with it this morning, tried a bunch of times.
Really nice to hear what everyone else is doing with it! The sun is shining here and it'll be bare leg weather soon....
Just to note, I lost weight and kept it off really successfully last time but be aware you loose it much slower with this system rather than something like WW or SW...
I'm really interested in giving this a go. I've tried all sorts of diets over the years and nothing has stuck. I have a few questions though if anyone can help?
Does this work alongside a slimming world meal plan? As I find that quite easy to stick to (to start with anyway!)
Also I'm 34 weeks pregnant at the moment so should wait until I have popped out this baby or can I start now? I'm feeling motivated!
Everyone seems so positive about this method. Are there any draw backs?
Hi gryffindorwannabe congrats on your pregnancy! I'm only in the early stages of doing the I Can Make You Thin app but can't see how it would hurt to do it while pregnant. You could always start it and then if you want to wait till your baby's here then do so. Nothing in it would be incompatible.
With SW, I think as long as you're only eating what you really want to - rather than forcing yourself to eat "healthy" - and can snack when you're hungry and stop when you're full, it should be fine.
For me, eating exactly what I want to is quite difficult! Last night it was apple slices and peanut butter. But it was lovely, and I stopped when I was full.
The night time hypnosis thing was hugely cringey but also quite relaxing and I nodded off about half way through.
I've rediscovered that cream crackers are delicious!

I nodded off within seconds of the hypnosis last night, do you think it's still doing it's job if you're asleep? Or is that the idea? Bit confused...

I've been away for a few days - saw it was sunny and decided to get off in the motorhome. While I was away, I struggled to find the time to listen to the cd, but I tried to keep to the golden rules and certainly got more exercise as we did quite a bit of walking with our black lab.
When I do listen to the cd, I tend to drift off - I think about everything else but what PMk is saying. I've decided that it's a subliminal message. So instead of trying to make out what PMK is saying I let it wash over me
* Annloves* I find it hard to know what I want to eat too as I've spent years being told that I should eat healthily, low fat, low sugar, eat my 5 a day, GI etc etc through various diets and plans til I don't know what I really want and can't eat what I'd like without a little voice in my head telling me it's not good for me or its is good for me.

What drew you to this? I'm trying to remember what made me buy the book and can't! Was it being fed up with endless different diets and strategies?
I've realised I genuinely love cottage cheese. I thought I was eating it because it's healthy but I've polished off a couple of pots over the last couple of days and am really enjoying it. I've also had a piece of fudge and an ice lolly. It's been eclectic but enjoyable!
Yeah I fall asleep every time I listen to it, but do you all get the wake up just a few seconds before it ends experience? In the book he says not only is it ok to fall asleep but perhaps us better because it's going right into your subconscious mind.
I had an emotional day today as it should have been my father's 70th birthday but he passed 7 years ago. I took the two kids out in the double buggy and went for a good long walk to clear my head. On our return I popped into the shop and bout myself a lovely bunch of roses. When I came home and had them out in the vase, I looked at them and realised I had unintentionally avoided a major emotional binge. I bet three weeks ago had I been feel the way I did today (a bit weepy) I'd have bought a slab of chocolate to make myself feel better!
The flowers made me feel much better!

Sorry for the loss of your dad, Franny. You did well to avoid an emotional binge. I lost my brother 6 years ago very suddenly and I know how hard it it is, and it never really goes away. Sometimes I can be walking down a street or in the supermarket and I think I see him, its someone with a similar hairstyle or look about them.
My current weight gain is very much emotions related as my mum became ill in June '15, and every time I visited her in hospital I had a coffee and a cake, then when I got home I ate and drank more to block the worry. She's in a nursing home now and I'm still tempted to go and have a coffee and cake after I visit her but I now why I do it now and I don't, unless it's part of my golden rules etc of PMK.
* Annloves* I've been thinking about your question about why or how I came to do PMK. I think it's that I know diets don't really work and I get sick of all the diet -speak and the whole mentality, and having put weight on recently I kept trying to find a way to lose it that I could stick to without getting fed up with it after a few days. I'd successfully lost weight before with PMK and I'd been suffering from insomnia worrying about my mum and found the sleep book of PMK and it made me thin I should go back to his I can make you thin book - so, here I am.
