How 'not so new' do you have to be?

MumOnTheRunCatchingUp · 16/04/2016 12:50

glittermud I'm wondering that too

I'm the same as you daughter did my exercise all week but still eating what I like that's my theory too..that if my mind is fresh from exercise hopefully I'll start eating a bit more healthy!!I'm 15 months post north btw Wink

Glittermud · 16/04/2016 13:00

Mine are massive and need me less in a physical sense so I'm just going to pot. Plus I have an injury which means I can't run any more which I used to love.

I've got a minimum of a stone to lose and preferably 1.5-2 St.

If only I could stop emotional eating....

Hi everyone. The original thread started when people had newborns. Those babies have just started school! ( So I changed the title slightly. )
We just chat about diet, exercise, beauty and grooming and have a general moan.
Here is a link to the last thread.
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/2335059-New-Mums-Pre-diet-we-had-pride-now-we-want-new-bodies

I have a 4 yo and a 2yo.

I've always struggled with my weight. I'd like to lose about 2 stone, but ideally I should lose about 3.5.

Hello everyone,

My DC are 5 & 2, I've been trying to lose weight for more than 20 years. Just post holiday and have a target of e 16lbs although in reality I think I need to lose 23lbs.

I'm an emotional eater as well Glitter but also a bit greedy Blush

I've got a 25% off Joules code if anyone interested: Hurrah16
Just ordered:

Managed 1200 cals today and a run. Aiming for 1500 tomorrow and then a fast day on Monday.

BeyondTheSea · 16/04/2016 21:47

Posted too soon

Well done on your decluttering green That's my aim too over the next few weeks. Hope you are feeling better. I'd like a 3rd but I am too old, too tired and think it would be nice for things just to be easier again in a way.

How are you both Sol and rachey ? Hope you are having nice weekends.

Greenrabbit · 16/04/2016 22:05

Well done Beyond. I tried to have a good day, but found some chocolate biscuits. Wink I've actually been avoiding sugar for the last couple of weeks and I've felt quite good for it. (So I messed up there)
I'm going to start properly tomorrow. Before I caught this horrible cold I had 5 days on 1200 calories and it was really easy. So I'm going back to that. Weight Watchers doesn't see to be inspiring me much, but the weekly weigh in is stopping me piling all the weight back on.

How do you count the calories? I was using My Fitness Pal.

I'm starting to feel better thanks. Child related things are getting easier so it would be silly to start again.

I put 4 charity bags out last week. Plus a bag of old shoes went to Clarks for recycling and I took a bag of clothes to H&M to be recycled (you get a £5 voucher!). We've filled 3 more bags today. It just seems like we haven't done any proper clearing since we had DD1. We would like an extension soon so getting rid of all the old rubbish feels really good.

The next task is clearing a path to the treadmill in the garage and actually using it.

I love those Joules clothes. I find stripes really flattering. I'm trying not to buy anymore clothes for the moment. I might take a quick look at the website though.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Racheyg · 16/04/2016 22:55

God I'm so sorry have been bad a checking in.

beyond I'm glad you had a good time and was able to reflect. I think we are all guilty of not spending enough quality time with our families.

Well done on 1200 cals and your run. I've never heard of joules? (Off to go on google) are you planning s little spending spree? Wink

green I hope you start to feel better soon. Wow that is a major sort out Smile what are you planning on doing, fasting? Or back to Ww?

sol how are you getting on?

Racheyg · 16/04/2016 22:56

Sorry was so rude.......
My ds's are 2 1/2 and 11 months. I'm a fairly newbie and this thread is amazingly supportive.

I am about 10 1/2 stone and I am struggling to lose the final stone or so.

Racheyg · 17/04/2016 07:50

Morning all.

I love listening neon when the sun is shining Smile

It's officially 4 weeks till I fly out to Spain. I would ideally like to lose 1/2 stone. I have treated myself to a few new clothes and a pair of Swedish hasbeens.

Off to Westfield today to buy some holiday bits for the boys (and myself) as ds1 is at his nanny and grandads (he is awful to take shopping)

Hope you all have a great Sunday. Off to the gym now Grin

Greenrabbit · 17/04/2016 09:24

Have a lovely day Rachey. Are you still doing The Body Coach?

I got some Hasbeens last year, they are gorgeous. The sun is finally shining today (snow and hail yesterday) so hopefully I'll beable to wear them again soon.

I'm going to use MFP to track calories. I'm going to stick to 1200. If I feel I can do a fast day I might try to do that too.
I'm going to go to WW as I think it keeps me more on track. I'm feeling better so I'm going to start exercising properly. I will charge my Fitbit up tonight.

I'm think of getting a wristband style tracker for my Birthday, can anyone recommend a good one? I have the clip on one at the moment as it was better when I was pushing the buggy, I feel I want to upgrade now.

I better go and get ready, make the most of this sunshine!

OP posts:
Racheyg · 17/04/2016 09:51

Haha that was meant to say I love London when the sun is shinning Smile

BeyondTheSea · 17/04/2016 10:48

Hi Rachey 4 week till holiday - exciting! Link your clothes purchases later. I think I quite fancy some hasbeens, were they comfy Green ?

Ive got a fitbit HR charge and like it, find it very motivating. I use it to track my calories too.

DD won't go in buggy now, I have an immaculate icandy raspberry, used about 10 times, think I might try and sell it.

We are off to a farm later, I saw some lams when I went on my run yesterday, almost made me want to be a veggie again.

Racheyg · 17/04/2016 11:42

green yes still doing the body coach I keep stopping and starting. I'm really struggling with this final stone or so.

I think mfp is a great way to track. I agree with the weigh in at we its great for motivation I think it's the disappointment of not seeing a change?!?

Are u able to run after dcs in your hasbeens? I'm wearing mine today and I'm struggling and oh says I sound like a elephant while walking around Shock

I've heard the garmin or Tom Tom is a good monitor but they are quite pricey about £180?!?

beyond hope you have a great time at the farm. My sister hasn't eaten lamb since we went to Lake District 20 years ago and stayed on a farm.

You will a get a pretty penny back for that pushchair on eBay. Ds1 lasted 2 months in the double buggy.

Hope you all enjoy the sunshine x

WiIdfire · 17/04/2016 11:49

Hi, I havent been on the previous thread, but have just started to address this postnatal weight issue myself so popping in to make a recommendation! My boy is 9 months and bf was making me eat and gain weight post birth. Anyhow, started using the Easyloss Virtual Gastric Band hypnotherapy app two months ago and have lost 8.4kg (18.5lbs) already, and am back to pre-preg weight. (We're not mentioning the other 5 stone I need to lose...) I have no personal connection with the app, just that I wish I had found it sooner. You can eat what you like, there no counting involved, just the hypnotherapy tells your subconscious you don't want to eat if you aren't hungry. I have put zero effort into this weight loss. Flipping amazing, don't know how this hasn't become a national sensation, but I guess it doesnt work for everyone. Just wanted to share.

As you were...

Greenrabbit · 18/04/2016 21:15

That's a really great loss Wildfire. I found it difficult to stop eating while I was breastfeeding. I had a look at the App and discovered that I already have it Blush. I will try to remember to listen to it, I suspect it might have made me fall asleep!

Did you have a successful shopping trip Rachey?

I don't think I could run much in the Hasbeens. They are very clumpy, mine squeak too. But they are very pretty so I tried to sneak some wears in. (Mainly round the house now I think about it)
They are quite comfy Beyond. I also have a pair of Lotta from Stockholm clogs and they are even better, plus the leather is softer so they don't make a noise! It might be because of the style of the Hasbeens. I'll link them in another post.

I've been looking at that Fitbit Beyond. Thanks. DH is trying to talk me into an Apple Watch. They are just so expensive though and I like the watches I own already.

I hope the farm was good. We went to the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust, lots of fluffy ducklings about. Very cute.

I managed 1500 calories yesterday, today I've had 500! (Providing I don't slip up in the next hour or so).

OP posts:
Greenrabbit · 18/04/2016 21:18

These are the hasbeens

Greenrabbit · 18/04/2016 21:24

I'll throw these babies into the mix too. Just while I'm looking at shoes you understand. I'm also a big Birkinstock fan too.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 18/04/2016 22:09

wow wildfire thats an amazing loss. You should be so proud of yourself.

green it was ok......... I will link what I have got so far. well done on your fast day today and your reduced cals yesterday. Glad you had a good time seeing all the cute little ducklings.

Yes its confirmed hasbeens are not for running around after babies and toddlers :) Im slowly weaning ds2 off the breast (HV things he is too big and should reduce feeds) and my period came back today :(

Hi all!

Great new thread Green

Welcome all new thread members. The last few threads have been incredibly supportive for me and the grooming and make up tips are great. Also these ladies are fashion guru's and have really opened my eyes to style choices.

I'm signing back in after going MIA. Thankfully my health has been given the all clear by the doctor so I can resume dieting and exercise. I had to take a few weeks away to get better and get back on my feet and avoid surgery. So next Monday I will be back to Exante and I plan to start The Shred. I also got my hands on Insanity, that workout dvd, and I'm going to do that after The Shred. I'm off on a mini break til Saturday so I will be stuffing my little face before the torture begins Grin

I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old Blush and I still haven't lost the pregnancy weight. But I' going Mad for May and plan to be a skinny - ma - link in no time!

Greenrabbit · 19/04/2016 22:01

Lovely to have you back SolStar. I'm so pleased that you're been given the all clear. You must be so relieved.
Have a great mini break, you deserve it. I look forward to your review of the DVD.

Nice clothes Rachey.
I like the Zara dress too, but you do probably have to have a very slender figure and no boobs to pull it off. (I'm sure you are very slender anyway, but it may not be ideal for boobs that have fed babies). Could you not try it on anyway?
How long is your holiday for? Are you going to wear trousers or skirts with your tops?
Last time I went on holiday I borrowed loads of size 18 jersey dresses and swimsuits from my mam . Blush

Did you know that you get a £5'voucher for H&M if you take in a bag of old clothes (even ones for rags)? I didn't know until last week. I took one then and I have 3 in the car to drop off tomorrow. I might try to have a look at the tops, I need some longer length t shirts.

Shame about your periods coming back. I hope you're not feeling too rubbish. You've had a good run I suppose? What does your HV mean by him being too big?
They would be trying to parade you round the streets round here, not many people breastfeed for that long.
