Does anyone want to join me in losing weight for the last time?

About three years ago I weighed 13 stone, and out of nowhere I found the motivation to go down to 9 and a half stone in a year. Since then, it's gone up and down, mostly up and now I'm back up to almost 12 stone.

So I've decided now is the time to find that motivation again and lose all this weight - for the last time. No more putting it back on!

Start Weight: 11st 12lb
Height: 5'2
Goal Weight: 9st 7lb

Does anyone want to join me? I think I'd do so much better if there were a group of us all waiting to hear how the others had done and give each other plenty of support.

I'm tired of being the "big friend" and just want to be comfortable in my own skin. I've got a holiday booked in June that I'd love to be confident enough for to get all my old bikinis back out, so my first little goal is to have lost a good half a stone by then!

Here is some imaginary Cake to bribe you all to come and join me.

Here's a photo of my progress chart on my fitness pal from the last few years! Time to get it back down for good

I'll join you, princessstrop.
I've got 4 stone to lose and I'm taking it day by day at the moment. I'm also sick of being the biggest in the group, the class, the office, the shopping center. Wherever I am I am always the fattest there.
I'm doing I can make you thin and calorie counting. Hopefully we can support each other, although I have a very long way to go! Determined to be slimmer by summer.

Hi Bellatrix

I'm also calorie counting - trying to stay under 1200 but I do find it such a struggle. I'm also trying to really step up with some exercise, I have a fitbit now to track my steps/calories burnt, and I find that useful. I've done Slimming World in the past and lost half a stone but I find it so hard to stick to a specific way of eating, I'd rather just eat what I normally do, but much, much less!

I think my biggest problem is portion size - I enjoy food, and I enjoy lots of it! I can never seem to tell myself I'm full. It also doesn't help that my favourite things are definitely the most unhealthy options Blush

Slimmer by summer - that's the goal!!

Have you found I Can Make You Thin helpful?

Yes I graze mindlessly on food continuously so keeping a food log and being conscious I'm only eating when hungry is really key for me. I skip meals all the time because of grazing so could never understand why I was so fat. Sounds very simple and it is but breaking a habit like grazing it's really hard. Willpower has been kicked into touch! That's why I'm concentrating on my habits rather than following SW or WW etc - I know I would fail on that. I want to get my mind into the right place not just my weight down! Sounds really deep but for me it's all psychological.
I'm thinking of getting a fitbit too! My sons would really love it if I could play rugby with them - or any sport for that matter!

I think willpower is the problem! But hopefully some support will get us on the right path.
What do you think would motivate you? Shall we do a weekly weigh-in? You don't have to say what you weigh but perhaps we could say how much you've lost etc how the week has gone?

I will join you princessstrop!
We are the same height - I don't know my weight as I'm avoiding scales but it's at least 1.5-2 stone over what it should be. I need a buddy in this process. Happy to do weekly weigh in and be accountable to it.
Back story - 4 years ago after birth of dd2 I got down from 12 stone to 9stone12. Got bored and complacent (but also life stuff happened) but am really annoyed it's gone back. I enjoy the gym. Just want a handle on healthy eating as I'm a comfort eater. Shall we do daily check ins?

Can I join. I'm 5"1 and 11st 13lb. I have been losing and putting on the same half a stone since October. I want to be about 9 stone but just getting under 11 stone would be a major psychological boost. Husband has a big birthday in August and it would be great to look better by then and not always be hiding from the camera.

Another shorty here. 5' 1.5" and also 11st 12lbs.

I keep chopping and changing my mind - I think I'll do weight watchers, no Slimming world, no slim fast, blah blah blah. I can never stick to anything and the weight has just piled on and on.

I think you're right - it's all about mind set and willpower. My problem is how do you get into that weight loss zone?

How about a Saturday morning weekly weigh in day? I'm happy to collate everyone's stats tmrw and get this thing going. As food diaries help with accountability, I would like to post a daily record of my eating (and exercise) to help myself.

Just weighed myself and I am 10.10.6 stone.
I want to be mindful and realistic and above all healthy. I will post my day's food tonight. I've never done a club like ww or sw before but I'm hoping this thread will replicate the group support that those clubs give.
Have a nice Saturday everyone .

Morning, I would love to join in. Also a shorty 5 1!!! I am at 11 stone at the moment. After my youngest (4.5yr) I got back to where I was pre pregnancy with calorie counting and exercise around 9stone. Then after a really shitty couple of years it has just gone up and up and up. I have started some exercise classes 3 times a week and had been doing really well, watching my food etc too had lost 10lb over a couple of months but I couldn't go the week before Easter hols as my ds had an operation and the classes don't run in school holidays so have majorly fallen off the wagon!!!

This sounds good! Yes to the on again off again stone! I have 11 weeks before I go home for summer and would just like to feel good in my size 12 shorts really! Not sure what I weigh as I have a tendency to become obsessive and really restricting when I see the numbers moving every day! Wondering about fasting (I know there is a thread) as then nothing is denied on the right day.

Have any of you considered going low sugar? It truly is the devil and going low sugar made a huge difference to my weight after only a week.

Joining in for support, though I don't do weigh-ins. I keep track of the circumference of my stomach and , let,s just say, it needs to reduce.

Low carb works best for me, which is low sugar as the PP suggested. Yay us, the rest of our lives starts today.

Quite how is low sugar different to low carb? I just struggle long term with low carb.

Oh I'll join in please. I am sick of having my one decent pair of jeans that fit and being the biggest in my family.

5' 7" 13 st. 2 lbs

My plan is to eat food that hasn't been messed about with, keeping it simple. I can't eat it if I don't know what all the listed ingredients are.

Well mfp says I'm just over 1100 cals today (says I can have 1500). 1200 yesterday and did a gym class plus a quick mile on the treadmill so surely those scales should start going down soon??

Sounds good sassy with that calorie deficit
For me, I can't be arsed to count and measure, but hopefully do the following instead:
Eat healthily and in moderation watching portions
Eat when truly hungry - not just cos it's a mealtime
Eat "clean" 90% with the occasional realistic treat
Minimal wheat and minimal sugar
Get to the gym as much as poss (3-4 times per week for the obvious benefits and feel good factor
Log food here daily
Sat morning weigh in (although I know clothes fitting and slimmer measurements are also lovely)
