Moved my weighing scales and it gave a gain of 4lb's

How is this possible? Shock

I gained 6lb's at Christmas so have been weighing myself once or twice a week just to keep an eye on it. I had lost 4 up to this week, so just 2 more to lose. The scales is in the same place in my bathroom and I never move it.

This morning, I moved my digital scales with my foot across my tiled bathroom floor and when I stood on it, it shows an increase of 4lbs Shock
There is no way that I've gained that much weight since last Monday morning, if anything, I should have lost some as I always eat more at weekends.

I moved it around a few times and was getting pretty much the same reading Sad

Are they really this inaccurate?

My weight can change by 4 pounds weighing daily through the week, depending on my cycle/poo schedule etc. What do you weigh in the scales original position? That'll tell you if it's accurate or scales being pushed off centre

Sorry misread you'd already moved them around

4lb's is a lot though RainOhJoyus!

It's certainly a bit of a kick in the bum. I'm doing my grocery shopping soon; no wine and goodies for me this weekend!

I wouldn't advise anyone else to try moving theirs, it's very disheartening Sad

So don't move them.

It doesn't matter what the actual numbers are so long as you weigh at the same time, under the same conditions and your scales are in the same place. Whatever the difference is, that's how much weight you've lost regardless of the actual number.

Changing any of the above factors skews the results.

Is the ground softer or unlevel at all? If I weigh my self on wooden flooring for example it is less than the reading on a carpet.

Perhaps you have gained but could be a number of reasons. Water retention perhaps. Don't worry, if you're being good I'm sure it will be back to down 4lbs in a week.
