Been using a spoonful in smoothies. I find if I do this I am much fuller for longer. I think they expand and so fill you up more. I use the milled version, not cheap but just need a spoonful and I don't taste them!
I love them - if you soak them in milk they make a lovely dessert type dish - or soak them and stir into porridge - although quite a lot of people are having them that way instead of having oats
