Well it's day 5 and it's been tough! Got a box of the Vanilla thinking I could make lattes to supplement my coffee addiction. Epic fail! Spent Day 2 in nauseaville - nearly chucked it all in. However, will be taking unopened and sachets back for swop on Wednesday. Was doing OK with mushroom pizza for tea until last night, when that also made me feel sick. As for the poison vial of Quinton YUK! Re-reading the old threads to get ideas for recipes and boxes when I go for first weigh in. Even the dog's dinner looks temping at the mo....

Hi Elliepup
I mix my Quinton with dissolvable tablet in the morning & it's just about drinkable. Only been having 1 a day as on it's own it makes me heave! Hot chocolate is my current favourite sachet & bacon omelettes are ok too.

I've just had a free restart session and first appointment to come. I last did it when it was called Alizonne, did well but fell off the wagon last year. I see that some fruit is allowed which is great because I found the lunchtime salad a bit of a hassle for days I wasn't in the office.

Hi, I'm an old Alizoner, new Alevere'er! I didn't get to finish it fully the first time as I fell pregnant, so I'm trying again, 6 years later! I have the choc drink for breakfast, add the quinton and a large spoonful of instant coffee to make a mocha and don't taste it that way. Loving being allowed fruit! I know this diet is hard and expensive but I felt so so SO good after I almost finished it last time.

Hi There. Just had week one WI and lost 1.6 k.I had been quite pleased but therapist said she wd have expected me to lose more! which thoroughly disheartened me (although when I explained it was actually 5 days, she thought it was ok ,but expected me to lose a lot more next week !) Now I feel "under pressure" but I have stayed same last 3days (yes I know you shouldnt weigh at home...but just had to check). The thing is I lost 5 stone 10 years ago on LL but gradually put it back on and following a bad year last year (deaths and illness) I kind of lost the plot drinking and eating with abandon !.Now its time to pick myself up and get organised! but when I see all those folk losing half a stone in 1st week and I am following the plan ...Has anyone else started slowly and picked up later ? I have found losing weight very hard since thyroid trouble plus less mobile at the moment.

Don't weigh yourself at home, I know it's tempting, I'm fighting the urge now even though I'm due in at 3 today! It never fails to be depressing. I have found I have good weeks and bad, also time of the month plays a part, the week before I can lose nothing but then get a big loss the following week. I try and look at it monthly, that seems to help, also I have a friend on weight watchers and even a bad week I do better than her so I hold onto that. (Without mentioning it to her obviously as that would be mean and she's doing very well actually, I just find WW too easy to cheat on for me)

Thanks Fertleby. You are right about WI at home ,I guess.I know its early days too,but I suppose I thought I would lose more as well as therapist, but heigh ho..I will look at it more objectively after a month. Now must go and prepare next snack..Good Luck this afternoon !

Hi, I have been on this diet now for 4 weeks. The last 2 weeks I have only lost 600 and then 800g. It is so frustrating. I am not cheating at all but seem to have hit a brick wall. Weighed this am at home and picked up 100g???? Is that even possible? Has this happened to anyone else? Over the month I have lost only 5.4kg (incl the 100g I picked up) feeling a bit depressed really....

Hi Hercules. My home scales are different from those at Alevere, but as Fertleby said shouldnt weigh in at home.I think the reasoning is that everyone fluctuates all day long.It is unlikely you have put ON weight-just having a fluctuation !.I know how you feel about the lack of a big loss. All I can say (from past experience on other diets) is that folk tend to lose then have a plateau for a week, sometimes two,but then start losing again, usually with a bigger loss.Really if it works for everyone on it,it must surely work for us. I am also clinging to the "any loss is a loss" mantra too.Good luck to you too!

Hi Hercules
Are you eating plenty of unrestricted veg? I seem to lose more when I have a saving of broccoli and/rhubarb. Guess it just cleans you out!

Small loss this week but only 1 lb to lose a stone so I'm clinging to that, no matter the loss this coming week I should get that stone next WI. Also they do crisps! Yes crisps! Just about to have a pack, bit over excited!

Hi all, thank you for the advice....I went to weigh last night and gained 200g. Saw the Dr as well and she said the same as you all. It's not a gain as such, might be a bit of water retention. She also said to eat plenty of briccolli and rhubarb (also not to weigh at home) but to measure instead. Will see how this week go, but feeling better. Does anyone have a nice recipe for the rhubarb? At the clinic they said to cook in in oven with sweetener on top?

I used to cook the rhubarb with sweetener and then the raspberry muffin sachet mixed thick and placed on top and cooked a bit more. I just stuffed and baked a pepper with the goats cheese, yeah, don't do that. 😝

My Mum used to stew rhubarb with grated orange and plenty of sugar eaten hot or cold.Cut in cubes and put in a small amount of boiled water, with the grated orange and bringing it down to simmer for about 10 mins till soft but not too mushy. I havent tried it yet,but going to try using sweetener.Eat hot with perhaps the vanilla sachet which I understand is like custard or cold with a bit of natural plain yoghurt.

Aldi do frozen chopped rhubarb which is really handy. I defrost & simmer with a bit of water & sweetener. Serve with with vanilla or lemon dessert.

Hi! I'm new to alevere...but am getting very bored with roasted unlimited veg...am not a very good cook when it comes to just veg and Indian cooking it doesn't quite go well with these limitations. ..does anyone have any recipe suggestions?
Also...after 5 days I have lost 1.9kg....is that good or bad? I hoped I would have lost more...
