10% body weight in eight weeks

Hi,

I'm on a medical mission (fertility issues) to loose ten percent of my body weight. This works out at a stone and half which would take me to nine stone. I'm a bit concerned as I haven't been nine stone since I was sixteen! My weight has naturally gone up to this point and I only go up and down by a couple of pounds regardless of what I do or don't eat.

To add an extra bit of pressure we have a pre fertility treatment holiday booked for eight weeks time and id love to get to this goal by then. Can't beat a challenge!

Is this even possible? I don't smoke or drink and I plan on doing the Davina five week fit DVD alongside swimming a couple of times a week. Not too sure where to start dietwise, as we generally eat quite healthy balanced meals give or take the odd treat!

Really grateful for your advice.

Hi there. Were you told you needed to lose weight for fertility reasons or is it something you decided yourself? You don't sound particularly overweight - you might want to check your calculations, you'd need to be 210lb (15 stone) for 1.5 stone to be 10%. If you're 10 stone 7 pound, then 10% is just under 15 pounds, would put you a shade over 9 St 7 pound. I think if you did mfp coupled with exercise you could probably and you were really consistent, you could drop 7-10 in the 8 weeks. You really don't have a lot to lose and that can make it tougher, wouldn't be room for cheating on that timeframe. The full stone isn't impossible but I think if it came off that quick, it might go back on very quickly - best of luck

Download My Fitness Pal and detail in there your stats and target. You can add all.meals, snacks and drinks. You can also scan barcodes on packets and will input the details for you.

If you do any excercise you can add that to earn back the calories burned for food, but I tend not to do that and just eat my daily allowance.

Also get a step counter app.

I work in a five story building on the ground floor so if I ever have to go onto the other floors I take the stairs up for every floor except if im carrying something heavy, and always take the stairs down.

The fitness dvd will help. I very much need to add a dvd into my schedule

Oh yeah, and the sums dont add up. A stone and a half is 21lbs. 210lbs is 15stone so that would then take you down to 13.5st

Hi, i lost 10% in 6 wks low carbing, there are good threads on here (by BIWI). The initial lost seemed fast, mostly fat from tummy and legs.

Blush my maths skills really aren't where they should be haha! Thank you so much for that nice surprise!

It's something my doctor asked for so I'm really keen to focus and do it. Just downloaded MFP and going to look at low carbing. Definately going to add a step counter to my plans as I work in a fifteen storey building so walking up and down those a couple of times a day should help build my stamina!

Thank you all so much, off to sign up for local pool membership Smile
