Anyone else short????

slipperyeel · 14/01/2016 10:47

I'm 5ft 1 or 5 ft 2 depending on who measures me and my God it's getting hard to stay slim now I'm over 40.
I was always tiny until I had kids and ballooned to 10st 7 from a pre pregnancy weight of 7st8.

I'm gradually losing weight (mfp) on 1200 calories a day but it's slow going. I'm at a nominally healthy BMI now weighing 9st11 but don't think I'll be slim again until I get back to 8stone something.

Anyone else???

Yes! It's very hard on a low calorie count.

I recommend //www.reddit.com/r/1200isplenty - yes it's reddit, but there's lots of good recipe recs there.

5'2"

Can't blame anything but greed and comfort eating for my weight gain

Thanks to wwers I'm currently at 46.5lb loss. It was 49lb but Christmas binge put the mockers on that:)

Am aiming to get my 50lb certificate as my next goal

50lbs is amazing, congratulations!

I'm not keen on group activities though a friend has asked me to go to SW with her

Ive done wwers on and off for the last twenty years. Finally found a group that I really like:) I find it does help, but everyone is different.

Hi, am 5 ft 4-5 and only the 500 calories of two to three times a week worked once I got to 9st. I just could not shift it at 1200. It will also depend on other things you do. The only disappointing thing is a haven't got my stomach back. When I over eat it just looks weird now at 8st.

Debbriana1 · 14/01/2016 12:25

I didn't bother exercising. Maybe that would have helped with the stomach muscle.

I'm 5,3 and 14st. I look like a weeble. I used to be slim at 10st (I've always weighed heavy but I was skinny and had a flat stomach) and I'd love to lose the four stone and feel attractive again.

I'm 5ft and about 12st. Currently preg though so not much I can do about it now. Used to be 9stone pre kids, so depressing. I doubt I'll ever be that light again!

Yep I'm short. Technically healthy bmi but I feel chunky. Trying to shift a stoneish authentic moment because I feel every single pound shows at this height. Even half a stone I would feel better. I'm currently 5ft 2 and 9St 8 so at the higher end of healthy I think

5' 0.5" and feel huge at 9st2

Trying to get fitter and lose some weigh - was 6.5st before kids... I have a petite frame and no curves so I'm all belly and flabby arms SadSadSad

Need to get down to 8st at least to be "me" again.

I'm 5ft 3.

I've come to accept that to be and stay slim is a full time commitment to being conscious of what I'm eating and by keeping active. I notice that friends who are taller certainly don't have it as hard. For eg, I was relatively 'good' at Christmas, yet I gained 6lbs Shock It just amazes me that it goes on so easily. I'm currently 9stone 4 but happiest at 9 stone.

Best of luck OP Smile

Gosh this has made me feel much worse about my weight maybe I shouldn't have posted. I could only dream of being 9stone again, there's no way that's over weight!

I'm 5ft2. Two years ago I was 91.1kg/14st5, and a size 18/20. Now I'm 69kg/10st11 (48.5lbs) and size10/12 but ideally I need to lose another 10kg/22lbs to be at a reasonable bmi. I was down to 66kg last year but got bored of 1200 cals after 18 months of it. I just bloody love food! I exercise (running, weights, circuits, hiit) about 5 times a week, so it's the food and wine I need to rein in (currently supposed to be 1340 cals per day). I'm getting a bit boney around my neck/chest/shoulder though so I'm conflicted about losing more. If only I could swap the pudge from my belly to my collarbones!

5minutes to bed you are pregnant give yourself a break. There will be plenty of time to lose the weight after the baby is born. And u do lose alot of weight just by having the baby x

5minutes I have a VERY VERY petite frame!!!

I conceived despite taking the morning after pill at 6.5 stone. I have no hips to speak of. 9 stone is on the cusp of acceptable BMI for 5' but I know for me it is too much; all my weight is on my tummy - still have size 8ish hips but size 12 weight my natural build is an athletic one.

I'm with you on the whole slim is a full time blood commitment. At 5 2 ish my basic calorie requirement just to stay the same is 1500. That's NOTHING. The only way I can keep things in check is low carbing, been at it for over 3 years and stay fairly steady although I'm struggling with some stubborn Xmas chub at the moment.

Me. 5ft and currently 9st9lb, down from 10st3lb - have a stone to go to be comfortable.

It's very hard. I joined a local nutrition FB group and its helping no don't calorie count, just eat healthy and "clean". Seems to be working.

So hard when you are shirt.

I'm 5'2 10 st, I was 13 st. 1 a year ago, I can 't shift any more weight and I'm up and down like a yoyo, in the summer I was 9st 11. I'm currently doing slimming world.

I wear a size 10/12 and still look (and am) fat, my belly is so flabby but nothing I do seems to help me shift the weight from there.

Actually just went on the calculator thingy just to check in case my calorie requirement was higher and it's 1350.

Thanks to this thread I actually feel like am not struggling a lone. I eat everything I like but at the same time I have to include it in the calorie count.

RandomMess · 16/01/2016 10:32

FFS 1350 calories OMG mine is going to be even lower than that Shock perhaps I should just admit defeat and learn to be happy with chunky!!!

I also thing that it is wrong for the daily requirement for people of all heights to be the same. I don't think it should. A smaller person needs less calories and some people don't understand that. This only clicked with me when I realised that it does not make sense that I should be able to eat the same amount of food as my 6.2 ft friend.

I'm 5ft2. Lost 25 pounds last year with 5:2 and maintaining that, I'm about 8 stone 10 pounds now. Agree it's a lifelong commitment when your calorie requirement is low.

I'm 5ft 2 and currently 12st 9.5lb. I feel (and look) bloody enormous! I joined slimming world last week and lost 7.5lb in my first week and I'm hoping to get down to 9st which will leave me a size 10. I've never been as big as I am, I was 8st 3lb after having my third child 8 years ago but becoming complacent and having another baby 18 months ago has ruined me completely! I've got a lot of work to do but I'm determined to lose it all again.
