Stopped losing weight all of a sudden

Hi all, I recently started to try and eat healthier and exercise a lot more than I usually would. I lost 12 pounds which I'm happy with, however seeing as I have 4 stone to lose I'm a bit dissapointed.

I've not changed a thing, I've stuck to my healthy diet and exercise but seem to have plateaued at the weight I am now.

Does anybody have any tips for me? I really don't just want to give up because of this

Plus I'm very bad at sticking to this usually so I'm happy I've lost that much but I'm still very overweight it needs to go. I've got a 7 month old baby and I want to be fit enough to do as much as possible with her

Are you keeping a food diary at all so you can work out roughly how many cals a day you are eating?

Have you worked out how many cals you need to eat (try my fitness pal)?

At a guess id say your prob restricting too much combined with being quite active with the baby. I think a couple of days eating a bit extra will kick start your weight loss again. You may have a small gain in that time of the actual food in you.

Good luck

Hi winchester thank you for the reply

I have been using my fitness pal, I've been eating between 1000 to 1200 calories a day and all of it is the likes of fruit, veg, Quorn etc

I can't see how I could possibly eat any better at the moment haha so I just couldn't understand the weight loss stopping all of a sudden

Could be time of the month? Or lack of sleep if your baby has been waking up more? Apparently women lose more weight if they take a multivitamin so you could try that?

Could be that but I wouldn't even know when my time of the month is anymore that I'm on the implant haha, I suppose I could try multivitamins thanks

Eating 1000 to 1200 and exercising on top of it sounds like u could be eating too little

Fair enough but i don't see how that would actually stop me losing weight? Surely not eating enough would cause that. Obviously not suggesting anybody under eat.

Its called starvation mode or something similar. Of course if.you eat low cals consistently, and constantly dropping you will eventually start loosing weight again and keep loosing weight much as an anorexic does, but you will have also really slowed down your metabolism and will gain again more quickly when try to eat normally.
Having higher cal days gives your metabolism a boost back into.action so you don't have to cut your cals further.
Personally I eat lower five days and then more at the weekend using the 'saved cals' from.the week.

I'm from the days it was called zigzagging but I think its called intermittent fasting now if you want to google.
