I need to lose 3.5 stone - feel so fed up about it I am ignoring the mince pies and Thornton's chocolates! I have lost weight before with a great bunch of ladies on mn. I feel motivated to do the same again and this time keep it off, I went through my wardrobe and found a very stylish tunic I bought in the South of France that I wore once before gaining weight.

Whatever your approach - low carb, Weight Watchers, Slimmers World or healthy eating, all welcome to join me with motivational tips/chat to keep each other going. I find that I don't stick to any plan and eating at meals times/snack on veg and fruit/exercise works for me.

Look forward to chatting with whoever wants to join Smile

Can I join? No working scales at the minute but need to lose about two stone I think. Going to do 5:2 and general cutting down on the non fast days. Will try and find a way to fit some exercise in too!

Helloooo! May I join in? I've got about a stone and a half to lose. I've already lost 3 stone 9 last year and I'm planning to lose five in total. I've got 4 dc and the last 2 were born very close together (13 months apart) so I didn't get chance to lose the weight before I was pregnant again so ended up with a lot to lose!

I follow slimming world which works for me and fits in well around family lifeSmile

Hi, lovely to have some replies so soon Smile

Calzone well done with Slimming World, it will work out that I will be more or less doing the same thing, but if I feel I'm following a plan, I just don't do it for some strange reason!

Notsosmart Welcome, I've heard 5:2 works very well, I've also heard there is a 16:8 where you fast for 16 hours and eat within an 8 hour window.

Buttwing look forward to chatting, what ages are your dc?

Is anybody planning on doing exercise also?

Can I join? I've just over two stone to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Have lost nearly a stone already doing ww online- baby now nearly six months old. Think probably gained a bit back over Xmas...

Embarrassingly, I have around 17 stone to loose. Writing it down looks horrific! I've already lost 1.5 stone on slimming world, and I've been well behaved over Christmas so I'm expecting a loss on Monday which is my weigh day. My boyfriend is on board with me and he has about the same amount to loose. It's going to be a tough year, but I'm super determined.

(I appreciate this isn't a judgy thread, but just to clarify that I'm relatively fit given my mass... I go to the gym frequently and play netball for a local team. I'm also nearly 6 foot tall!)

GBBO15 well done on your stone so far, I would hate to think how much I gained over Christmas, it all went to pot from 1st December with my work dinner.

NickMyLipple My dd, almost 11, is in the school netball team. She doesn't take after me as I was useless. She mainly plays goal attack, and is not very tall, but doesn't stop her scoring a lot of goals! I am impressed with anyone who plays ball games, I am more of a jogger/walker.

We can motivate each other, I know Slimming World works well, I can't be arsed to count up those sins though, but what I do is more or less the same.

Just posted a long thread & it disappeared. Ahhhh!
I am delighted to have found you as need to lose weight (again). Blondes, Pretty & Crumbs I was on a thread with you all years ago. I can't remember what my username would have been then which isn't very helpful!
Weighed in at 11st this morning which is disappointing as I was 10st at the end of May (although to put it in context, I was 11st this time last year & 13st on the last thread I was on with you guys).
Good but hungry day today. Failed to do any exercise. Off to bed now.
When are you all going to be weighing in?

I dread to think how much I need to lose, probably sensibly 3 stone, but I'm going to aim for 1.5 for now as that seems achievable and I don't want to lose my boobs completely

I'm going for a lowish carb way of eating, cutting out the crap, lots of smoothies and soups plus hopefully some gentle exercise if my unreliable ankles allow! Ds got a multi gym for Xmas so I will have a go on that and maybe try some fun exercise like roller skating and trampolining. I love to run but while I am so overweight it puts too much strain on my joints and I have certain medical issues which make that even more problematic.

I tried BIWI's low carb threads last year, but I'm not strict enough and get demotivated when I read how other people have stuck to it and lost loads of weight while I struggle to eat eggs yet again every morning!

ThatsNotMyhouse Welcome back Smile I may revert back to my old username, as it was very positive. I think I'm someone from Star Wars at the moment.

I seem to remember last time we had different days of weighing in. We used to list our weight loss/gains/stayed the same every week didn't we?

MarkRuffalo welcome, I think cutting down on carbs is a good thing, I eat too many potatoes!

Mark are you me?!
I need to loose 3 stone but am aiming for 1.5 in the first instance! Am going to make soup tomorrow for Monday and Tuesday work and will do another batch Tuesday for Wednesday and Thursday. Also going to try to have a smoothie for breakfast every day rather than nothing then mainlining coffee and hobnobs in work!

I'd like to join please! I was doing fairly well with WW and then my branch closed and things have gone from bad to worse since! So I'm trying calorie counting on my Fitbit and increasing exercise instead.
My biggest problem is that I have frequent migraines (5-10 per month) and eat everything in sight in the early stages of an attack.

I'm in.

Sciatica through spring and summer last year and then a bereavement in September (okay it was my dog Blush) has left me feeling unfit and flabby and I hate my bloated face.

No idea what I weigh (I'm not a weigh-er) but I want to get down two dress sizes. Not SWing, WWing, 5:2ing, low carbing or anything else- just cutting out alcohol (completely for Dry Jan), refined sugar, endless bread and cheese etc and just going to try make better choices- 'clean eating' I guess for the main, but not totally

And reintroducing exercise!

Just had 2 weetabix with skimmed milk and half a banana which has taken the edge off it at least.

Me and my friend are going out for breakfast. We're going to Harvester because they do unlimited fruit (free on SW) and can have poached egg, veggie sausages, beans and tomatoes which should be pretty low syn wise.

I won't need lunch as I'll be full up, and I'm having pork medallions with SW roast potatoes and lots of vegetables for dinner. Might make some SW jelly sweets this afternoon.

Ooh can I join I need some accountability.

I'm hovering around the 12stone mark after having 3 baby's in 3 years and it's getting me down.

Started yesterday I'm decidedly twisty already through sugar withdrawls.

Looking to lose about 3 stone.

I've been over 12 st for the last twenty years and worry about it every day. It's depressing but I've not given up hope of being slim!
I'm doing SW although not attending a club as didn't enjoy it.
I want to be 10 stone. Recently come down from 13st 6 to 12st 7 and I'm stuck. Smile

I'm in. I lost 2 stone last year but just maintained since September. I'd like to lose another 2ish.

I'm not following any diet in particular just eating less and better.

I'm going to cook from scratch more and try and be more organised.

Ideally I'd like to have lost it by June at the latest which should be acheiveable.

I've started having porridge with a tsp of golden syrup for breakfast everyday and it's keeping me quite full.
Lunch today will be split pea soup, and dinner will probably be beef stew.

I felt so good last year when I was eating better and food really affects my mood so I have to do this.

I am definitely not hungry as I've just had a hearty breakfast of 2 poached eggs, tomatoes and toast. I'm off for a walk soon, and won't need lunch until at least 1pm, then it will be salad.

Blondes I am also doing Friday wi.

Noel We have lost a beloved cat and ds's hamster this year, ds has just put a photo of cat on our mantlepiece to remember her - no more hamsters though - always having to nag ds to clean him out, pay attention to him etc (homework and busy when he was awake), but he was still very fond of him.

I agree it's a good idea to break the goals down into achievable chunks - maybe with a reward every week.

We could do what we did before (blondes remember our list?) after every weight in we would add, cut and paste the list of goals, weight loss, total weight loss. I've not been busy on mn for a while, alternatively, I notice we can now select files, could keep adding to a spreadsheet. Helpful for those of us who weigh in every week/month?
