Best way to lose weight as an apple shape?

I'm a size 16 and most of my weight is on my tummy. Have boobs ( but they don't go down much even when I do lose weight), slim arms, thighs, bum and legs. So fed up if carrying all my weight on my tummy as I think it's much harder to hide, looks bad and is both ageing and unhealthy. Any other apples out there? How have you managed to reduce the size of your tummy...?

No advice I'm afraid but watching with interest. My stomach is the first place I gain weight and the very last place I lose weight. I managed to get down nearly to a size 8 in March but still needed sucky in underwear to squish in the belly fat! Unfortunately I've snuck back up to a size 12 and the belly flab is just so demotivating because I can't see it ever going. Sorry not helpful at all but you aren't alone! Thanks

It's so frustrating isn't it! I have 2 friends who are overweight but because they're pear shapes they look much better in clothes than me. It's like I have 2 different bodies, one is slim and one is fat! Why????

I'm totally the same as you. Good legs, slimmish arms (although not as slim as they were), big boobs, and a massive tummy. At my heaviest (15 stone 2-yuck), my belly was bigger than my boobs, but I've lost about a stone and it has gone down a bit. Still big though. In clothes it's not as bad, as I swear by things like Spanx and high waisted jeans to suck it all in. Out of clothes however I'm like a weeble. I'm aiming to lose more weight and just hoping it'll come off my midriff. I'm tall so if I was a different shape I think I would carry my 14 stone weight a lot better- frustrating!!

Intermittent fasting ( 5:2 is the most popular version) seems to help quite a few people lose weight off their tummies ..

Are you all doing any form of exercise? Walking is great for losing belly fat. Also weight training will build muscle and therefore help you burn through fat faster. It also raises your metabolism which also helps lose fat.

I was always hourglass with big boobs and big hips/thighs (plus fat arms, which is a nice bonus Hmm) but over the past couple of years everything seems to have collected around my middle! I'm a size 16 everywhere apart from my waist, which measures a size 20 Blush

Unfortunately you can't spot reduce fat, absolutely no exercise can target just one area because ab exercises will only work the muscles underneath the fat, not the fat itself. Sadly it's just a case of eating well and moving for all over fat burn.

My stomach is the last place I lose from as well, so I end up looking fatter as everything slims around it! Angry

As a fellow Apple I find low carb works the best for reducing the belly.
Unfortunately I can't stick to it long term but when I am low carbing my waist is at least an inch smaller. When I'm sadistic enough to measure after a carb heavy weekend I'm 2" bigger than when I have been low carbing properly for 2+ weeks

Disclaimer I am a BMI of 20 +/- 0.8 dependant on my level of carbs X do for how long.

I lost 4.5 stone calorie counting with little care about carbs, but once I got to the lower weights I see what difference they make to me.

So is it fat or bloating?

For me not sure, prob bloating in the first couple of weeks/pounds, but when I stick to low carb for longer my top weight drops until I stop low carbing for 4 weeks plus
