I'm going back to work after extended mat leave this week, kids back to school and nursery. It's time to put some better eating habits in place and stop scoffing ice cream! I have a 12 week 'sort out the Mum tum' program to follow and about 12 lb to lose. I just need some buddies to kick my fat arse keep me accountable. My birthday (40something) is the end of November, would love to be back in shape by then. 1lb a week.....

I'm in :-) 1 DC starting school and 1 starting preschool so sounds like the perfect time to start a new regime :-) I need to lose around 20lb by christmas but 1lb a week would make me equally happy.
Planning to combine 5:2 and some good old fashioned exercise.
You sound very motivated so hoping that rubs off on me ;-) good luck!! Xx

Hi octopus glad of your company! I'm still BF my DD so no 5:2 for me. I will use MFP but really I just need to not eat sweets, cakes and ice cream. I already walk a lot and have a dog to exercise and the MuTu program includes workouts. I'm trying to capitalise on new term enthusiasm!

I'd like to be in. For me, as a teacher, term time is ok but things slip a LOT in the holidays. I also have a marathon to run on 27 sept Shock

I'd like to like myself more, work on consistency, become stronger physically and drop about half a stone forever.

I'll be back in a bit Smile

mutusystem.com it's a 12 week program of exercises to strengthen your core and heal diastasis recti, plus it encourages gentle exercise and clean eating. My posture is awful, I look about 5 months pregnant by the evening Blush
I'm up for weighing in if others want to, does the end of each week suit you? Welcome wobbly can't be that wobbly if you run marathons and firefly good to have you on board!

Hi everyone!

Woke up feeling hungry but positive. I feel so much better when I am in control. I am very all-or-nothing about both diet and exercise and beat myself up when I don't meet my high standards. Want to step off that particular train today.

Will be using mfp but aiming to eat 1800 calls daily. This should allow me to incorporate exercise (4 runs a week, 4 hours of Pilates plus one session of ariel silks, which begins again at the end of the month) and a treat, so sustainable, I hope.

Today: banana and egg pancakes with strawberries for breakfast, brazils, almonds and dates for a snack, homemade lentil soup for lunch, tinned mackerel and avocado salad for tea.
I have the mother of all periods today which is serving as a reminder: when eating completely clean in July, period was barely there. It was so much nicer.

What is everyone else planning for today?

Hello I would like to join. Children around for a few days more but I am raring to go. I only have half a stone to take off but i am really keen to do it by the end of November. I lost 2 and a half stone 2 years ago and that half has crept back on over the summer, it has to go. MFP and a daily vigorous walk has worked in the past so I start again today. 2 slices of wholegrain toast with a scrape of marmite for breakfast. Fresh tomato soup for lunch (bought I am afraid) and fruit. Homemade shepherds pie and a pile of green veg for tea. Small slice of cake after. One hour walk this afternoon. Plenty of housework too!

Hello sitoff welcome aboard!

Porridge with raspberries for breakfast, have resisted the mid morning biscuits in favour of an apple, tuna jackets for lunch. Need to plan dinner, my oldest is keen to help me cook Hmm and needs to be talked out of making pudding! I've taken the DC and the dog to the park this morning so walking for the day ticked off.

firefly i do snack on nuts and dried fruit but use MFP to count the calories so that I do not eat too many. Not sure how slimming world works so can not comment if you are using that.

I'm in! I am feeling cr** at the moment having re-gained the 10lbs I'd lost between Xmas and the end of May. It isn't just the weight gain but the bluergh feeling of feeling fat & bloated along with brain fog and the realisation that I really do need to make changes for life as I gain weight so quickly & lose it so slowly (PCOS). I am doing a bit of research into what may be the most effective way to control and lose weight but, for now, will aim to cut out the crap and alcohol. I'll weigh & measure tomorrow & then weigh in on a Monday & do measurements on the first of each month.

Welcome my house I also am a bit cross with myself. I had got down to goal weight 8m after having DD but she has been v unwell since, life has got on top of me and I tend to console myself with sugar. I know it makes me feel crap in the long run....
octopus hope your DS has a fab first day!
firefly you can't have dried fruit on SW - well you can, but it's not 'free' you would have to use your syns.

I know what you mean thatsnot about feeling bleurgh. I'm only 4lb heavier after a month-Long splurge/decrease in exercise, but I feel worse, am sleeping worse, wobbling more, bloated, hate myself, less likely to wear nice clothes...all adds up.

It's good to hear I'm not the only one feeling bad about themselves.
Just weighed & measured - 10st11
Around tummy button - 88cm
Around bottom - 105cm
Around left thigh - 62cm
I have just been for a 4k run. It was a gorgeous morning & that is the furthest I have run since May. I really wanted to stop in the final 1k but managed to keep going by telling myself that however bad I felt, it wasn't as bad as this general feeling of yuckiness.
Off to meet a super stylish & skinny friend today. No idea what to wear!

Well done ThatsNot- impressive start. Good luck miniOctopus. Milo sugar is my downfall - I am trying to eat less but keep it til the end of the day as a reward. Probably terrible psychology.

I have done my walk and had museli and Greek yogurt for breakfast. Tuna salad for lunch. Veggie burgers, new pots and green veg for tea. Something sweet after - not yet decided!

Can I join in please? I work term time and my eating has been pretty rubbish over the hols so I'd planned a big blitz when term started anyway. However, a recent health check has shown that I have very high cholesterol. I really don't want to take any statins unless I absolutely have to, so am planning to try and tackle with diet and exercise. I had a fasting blood test yesterday and will be back at the docs next week to discuss. I'm (only just) not overweight, but used to be pretty skinny pre-dcs. Would love to lose at least a stone and preferably more. Current weight is either 10st 6 or 10st 9, depending upon whether my or the docs scales are more accurate (Unfortunately I suspect it's the docs :-(). Started 5:2 yesterday and will be cutting out all junk apart from possibly one treat a week.

I had porridge with frozen raspberries and blueberries for breakfast this morning, sugar snap peas for a mid morning snack. Lunch will be salad with feta and avocado and an apple and a few nuts. Having roast chicken with roast veg for tea (while the kids, dh and visiting friends have chips!).
