Hello Smile
I've recently lost over 30lbs but I still need to lose another 30ish. Anyone want to join in for some support/motivation? I'm thinking weekly Monday morning weigh ins starting tomorrow (Not compulsory).
I'm going to do healthy food at about 1000-1200 calls a day. I may also add in some fast days too.
All diet types and weights welcome Smile

Hello!! I am doing vaguely doing slimming world via stuff I've read online and just generally trying to exercise more and eat less.

Have been at home all day today with toddler DS and have eaten far too many biscuits as a result. Planning on going on my exercise bike once he is in bed. How is your day going Thatswot?

Hello :0)
I'm also making up this evening for today. I went for lunch with the in laws and had a lovely Sunday dinner. So I'm only having a small snack tonight. I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old so I know how easy it is to fall of the wagon when stuck in with them. I always eat the left overs too which is a killer. It's so hard to throw them out but I need to stop hoovering up calories without even noticing.
Good luck with the biking.

Hi Thatswot - I really need to lose 30lbs. Well done on losing 30lbs already, how did you do it and how long did it take?

Hiya
I lost the first 30lb really quick (only 2 months) I did a vlcd which isn't healthy long term but I needed the motivation of a quick boost. now that I'm no longer 'obese' I'm trying to switch to a healthier slower weight loss.
What's your plan of action? MFP, VLCD, SW or another acronym all together??

Well done with the first 30 - that's fantastic.

I'm going to calorie count, same as you 1000-1200 daily. I've failed at 5:2, but I shall watch your fast days with interest. You might be fine on the back of VLCD, good luck.

Right, here goes, I'm a mortifying 14.7 at 5'8''
I'm a 16 top, 18 bottom

I'm feeling both mortified and motivated!

Morning :0)

I'm about 5'5
My Heaviest weight was 14.8 stone 2 months ago.

This morning I'm 12.3 stone Smile

Lifeis - believe me if I can do it you can. This is the first time I've ever successfully lost more than 5lb and I'm determined to do it before I end up with health problems like my mum has.

Hi, can I join you all? I've gone from 13.4 stone to 11 stone but still have another 1.5 stone to go to be a "healthy" weight as I'm quite short. I'm currently bigger on my top half too thanks to my post pregnancy tum. I'm doing SW/MFP and exercising.

I'm on the Summer weigh in thread and have lost 23lb since early May, but after my holidays I want to lose another 30lb by Christmas so this is good timing.

Not doing any diet as such, although slight nod to SW principles of low cal/low fat/home cooked/plenty of fruit & veg. I've cut snacking right back and am practically teetotal now.

I've always been heavier than I look so I'm also looking for non-scale victories (NSVs - well you did ask for more acronyms Grin) such as what my face looks like, clothes etc.

ThatsWotSheSaid · 20/07/2015 14:42

Welcome the more the merrier Smile

NSV I love it.
My NSV goals are to fit into a dress that I used to wear before I had dd who is now 4 yrs old and to run around with the kids without getting hot sweaty and tired.

I'm not too sure how much actual weight I want to lose because it's been a long time since I was slim. When I was 19 I weighed under 8 stone and I'm pretty sure I'd look awful being that thin now.

What exercise are you doing violet?

Hi ladies, can I join you?

I've also got around 30lbs to lose, I'm 5'5" and 12st 1lb, which is heavier than I was at 7 months pregnant.

Baby is 9 months old and I'm shovelling in chocolate like my life depends on it because I'm exhausted. Still bfing, mainly at night. Going back to work in 3 weeks and can't face the thought of everyone's horror at the way I've ballooned since they last saw me.

Going to try to stop the junk food and increase fruit/veg/water, but I'm not optimistic about my chances of doing much exercise because I have no energy and quite frankly would rather have half an hour's sleep than half an hour exercising.

Welcome Cynara Grin
i found dieting when bfing impossible so you have my sympathies.

ThatsWot - I agree with you re health issues, much as I loathe the way I currently look, the health implications are terrifying.
Good luck to us, some good inspiring losses already.

It's really hard to imagine that 30lbs gone. It's only the last few years that I've been overweight, so I know what I will look like when I'm slim. It's just hard when I see all the bulk of my body to imagine it all disappearing.

Hello, I'd like to join please

I need to lose more than that. Focus is on next month as I have a big event and I'd like to not look terrible in photos. I'm doing 5 2 but also counting calls on the other days. Aiming for 3 mile walk 5 days a week. Just started last week. 1.5lb down this morning.

I know what you mean, I look at the bulk and find it hard to imagine it going.

PS I've also made many attempts but in the past I've not been so bothered how it looks, but now I am more conscious probably due to getting older as well. Plus, I don't want my joints to suffer. I also have a feeling that my weight is affecting my sleep. I've always been a bad sleeper but I think it's got worse with weight gain.

Could I join? Lost 4.5 stone last year by cutting out sugar and most carbs. Also a lot of time exercising so I was actually toned. Then I got pregnant. I'm now about 20lbs up on pre-preg weight and completely untoned. I'd love to lose 30lbs for Christmas, and also find my muscles again.

Report
Lucked · 20/07/2015 19:42

30 lbs by Christmas would be perfect for me, it would get me to my weight of 5 years ago before two babies. I have lost 10lbs in 4 weeks of 5:2 but most of it in the first week and now it's pretty slow. I think I need to add in a bit of exercise to guarantee at least a pound a week.

That 10 lbs has made such a difference already, clothes are fitting better and I feel very positive about losing weight. Technically I am no longer overweight (just!) but as someone who carries very little muscle I need to get my BMI down to at least the midpoint of the normal range.

I have my wedding anniversary in 5 weeks and I would love to lose another 7 lbs by then but will need to really focus.

achieve15 · 20/07/2015 19:49

Lucked - well done - 10lb in 4 weeks of 5:2 - wow! I would be overjoyed if I lost that in 4 weeks. Historically, when I've done well at dieting I've only lost a 1lb per week.

One big change is I'm trying to lose the sweet tooth. I think it just needs to go. Thing is, you can get some nutrition from cheese, nuts etc but sugar is just a taste/habit so I'm trying to get rid of that taste.

Threads like this make me realise how much I have to lose! I need to lose at least 30lbs but really more like double that. I'm (eek) 5ft7 and 15st10. Already lost nearly a stone (11lbs) but slowly since having 5 month old dd, and now need to quicken things up. Started couch 2 5k but had to give it a miss this week as I had tonsillitis. Sadly making up for the lack of eating I did while very ill now I'm recovering! I need a quick fix to motivate me too, how did you lose the first 30?

Thing is, you won't lose 60lbs without losing 30 first - journey made of small steps and all that Smile

I have no idea what my final goal is. I've been slim, but never light. I'm hoping for total of 4st off by Christmas so that's another 37lb. Then I'll evaluate again.

Archive15 - I'm trying not to eat anything that isn't nutritious. I'm eating lots of fruit, veg, beans, nuts, seeds, dairy and fish. Someone said to me that I should eat with my brain not my taste buds... If that makes sense.
Threes and lucked - 30lb by Christmas sounds like a a good time frame. I can visualise myself in a new Christmas frock.
Threes - well done for such a massive weight loss. Can I ask you an -ehem- personal question? Did you have an lose skin? If you did does it get better over time or stay the same?

ThatsWotSheSaid - oh yes, good question. My mum asked me if that might happen - I need to lose about 40lb. I'm 39. Need to lose 40 by 40, lol. It's a worry.

I asked a question on the 5:2 board but haven't had any replies yet. I hope you don't mind if I put it here as we have some 5:2 people. my question was, did anyone do 2 days together and how was it - I don't want to be so ravenous after 2 days that I undo good work?

Thanks.

I don't do my two days together but some do. What I would say is that I am not any hungrier the next morning, if anything less hungry. However I would be worried about my concentration, it is very important in my job that I don't lose concentration or make silly mistakes. Also for me I think if I was on 5 'feast' days in a row how much I was eating would creep up making the next fast day more difficult and also I would more calories overall.

I do find it easier at work though. I had to do it yesterday on a day off and it's difficult being in the kitchen and sorting things out for the kids.
