Hit a mental wall.... Help me get through it!

DD was born in April, the day after I gave birth I was 12 stone 2, I am now 10 stone 9. I'm 5ft 3 and want to weigh 9st 4, so 1st 5lb to go!

I've found it quite easy, sticking to 1200 cals a day with one cheat day a week and doing a mixture of couch to 5k, swimming and walking.

The last 3 weeks my weight loss has slowed down to 1lb a week and for the last week I have woken up thouroughly miserable and pissed off with it all and have lost all my will power. I don't know what's happened as I was enjoying it and feeling really good.

I am saving up for a shopping trip when I am at my target weight and I can finally start wedding dress shopping so I have so much to look forward too but I can't seem to snap out of this misery!!

Has anyone else had this?! Help!

Don't lose heart, you've lost quite a bit over 3 months don't you think? It's bound to slow down a bit but a pound a week is still really good. I can't believe you've managed to do all this with a new baby, go easy on yourself, you can still try on dresses to get an idea what you might like. I think to lose anymore would mean starving yourself/exhausting yourself

I know it might seem slow, but a pound a week is good going. Your weight loss will slow as you get nearer your target. You're doing a fab job!

Ahhh thank you Smile I'm miserable but just about sticking with it.

I'm confused about TTDE??( Is that it?) I worked it out online and it said I should have 1600 but that seems way to high if I'm only losing 1lb per week with 1200? Should I cut down to 1000? (I am very short with a small frame) or shall I just be patient and stay as I am?

Tdee is total daily effort expended, basically the amount of cals you burn. There are online calculators that you can put your details in and it will give you a number. I'd be really loathe to cut down to 1000, I think even 1200 is too little to be honest, you'll get to your goal and you'll need to maintain, you'd struggle with that if you go too low for too long IMHO. If I were you, I absolutely wouldn't drop any lower, you have to stay healthy, weight isn't the only gauge, take your measurements too. Picking an ideal weight is one thing but maybe you only need to lose another stone and tone to be your ideal shape/size. And again 1lb is not shabby at all! I'd love that and I'm closer to 12 stone. I know it's a personal thing but you just had a baby lady Wink Be kind to yourself, you're succeedingStar

I am just coming out of a similar situation. I needed to lose 4 stone, and after losing a regular 2lbs a week, suddenly I stuck at the same weight after 2 stone. I stayed at the same weight for 5 weeks before moving again. I had a bit of a blowout on one day the week before I started losing again, not sure if maybe that kick started my matabalism or if it was just a coincidence.
Either which way, keep at it! You have done amazingly well so far and you are halfway on what looks to be a very sustainable life change rather than a diet.
Hope this helps.
