I've been doing slimming world since the end of dec last year, I've lost over 3 stone and gone from 16 stone 2lbs to 12 stone 13lbs. However I still feel terrible I look disgusting in all clothes and I just have no confidence. Don't really no why I'm posting but does any one feel the same? I'm still doing it and determined to get down to between 10 stone 7lb and 11 stone 7lb (will see how I look when I get there) any tips to help speed things up? Anyone tried any other diets? Think about going on juice plus/lighter life but think I will be starving :/

What you're doing is obviously working in terms of weightloss - well done! Why change to a more extreme, less sustainable method? It sounds like you'd be better off doing something to improve your self-image, which could be as simple as getting a friend to help you choose some clothes that suit the shape you are right now, or as involved as seeing a counsellor to work on your self-worth. I bet you'll say there's no point in shopping for clothes, because you're still overweight..? But if you think beauty is defined by a number on the scales, and if you describe yourself in such abusive language, you probably aren't going to be ready to be happy with yourself when you reach your "ideal" weight.

You've done amazingly well! I'd stick to what you've been doing tbh. There is loads of stuff on google about raising self-esteem, Mind is a good place to start www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/self-esteem/about-self-esteem/#.VXM8Xc9Viko

Where does your determination come from if you dislike yourself so much? It must make everything so much harder :/ My DD is like this but is only 13, I so wish she had more confidence as she is an amazing and beautiful person through and through. I bet others see you more kindly than you see yourself.

You're losing half a stone a month which is steady and youre losing it by following a plan that strongly encourages you to eat healthy amounts of dairy and fibre - that's such an achievement.

You sound like you need to work on "you" a little rather than focusing on your weight/ size. You've obviously got a lot going on. I hope the link posted above is helpful. Flowers

Firstly, let me start by saying that you are doing amazingly well! I also know, even without seeing you that you must be looking great compared with where you started.
I have been in a very similar boat, before you lose weight you feel fine and confident because you don't see any physical issues. Once you start on the journey you start being more and more critical, and this can lead to all sorts of problems.
What you need to do is have a bit of a reality check and ask yourself:
Do I want to change my lifestyle to be always healthy or just be thin?
Am I in this for the long term or do I just want a quick fix?
Is the goal weight really what matters, or is it being healthy?
Is what I am currently doing sustainable?
How realistic are my goals (time and target)?

Remember that losing weight too fast can have side effects including medical issues, loose skin and a greater chance of just piling the weight back on soon after. If you want a sustainable way of being the size you aim for, the best way is to do it in a steady way.

Again, really well done, I

Thanks guys for your messages it's helped me reading them. I found a pic of me just before I started which is terrible and compared it to a picture that I took the other day and the diffrence is huge. I'm going to keep doing slimming world and concentrate on this more as a life style change, I don't ever want to get this big again and I want to be healthy for myself and my children ??
