Alevere / Alizonne

dm2ooo · 23/03/2015 11:46

For reasons unknown, the name of the Alizonne diet has changed to Alevere. I have only known it as Alevere and wanted to start a new thread so people can find it under the new name.

I am nearing the end of week 1 and have lost 8lbs so far. I don't count this much as I lose 7lbs in the first week of any diet. I'll see how I go over the next few weeks.

It's a lot of work to follow but I'm getting used to it. Would be happy to swap tips with anyone - particularly on recipes.

Also very happy as I won £500 today which covers a lot of the 1st month costs!!! :)

Hi mystery - hope you don't mind but I don't want to say which one because I get worried about someone at the clinic working out who I am! Paranoid, I know!

Week 6! Well done! How have you got on?

Hi. Im on week 5 currently and can see results. I think my clinic is in the middle of changing from Alizonne to alevere. It's really nice to see others on it. Sometimes it is hard as I havenot told people what I am doing

Hi I started my Alevere journey last Saturday, and so far it has been okay.
I do have a confession though, in that this is my second attempt. My first journey was successful reaching my goal in 8 weeks. However, as Christmas (2013) was looming I decided to have a break .......my biggest mistake as I found it really difficult to get back on the program. I have since then gradually put most of my weight back on, my own fault, you are what you eat.
Anyway, this time I am in a better place and I am determined this time to see the program through to the end.

Hi. How much does this diet cost? The availability of information online is pretty limited which always makes me a bit suspicious, but I am very interested in the concept.

Hi everyone

ntjtp1 - Well done for 5 weeks! I know what you mean. I told my family. My close friends know I'm on a diet and can't really have anything they are eating / drinking (pub lunch - had beetroot salad, side of brocolli and a peppermint tea!) People at work - I just say I have to drink vitamin drinks at intervals to help with general fatigue / medical issue. :) But I'm lucky as I work from home a lot so can control my meals most of the time.

AM61mill - Good luck with starting again - it's better than giving up. I'm hoping the cost will be an incentive to keep it off - as my loss will take longer than 8 weeks!

Snowman - My clinic has a full pricelist online but it's hard to know how much you have to spend each week. In general, most people seem to plan for around £220 per week. It's really not cheap at all. Better if some more long-term users comment on whether they feel it's worth it. For me, if I lose the weight, it'll be worth it.

Thanks dm2ooo. I agree if the weight comes off and I could be "reprogrammed" to eat differently and not regain then any price would be worth it! I have done LL before very successfully (8 months and 7st lost) but for various reasons skipped the maintenance part at the end and seven years later have ended up back where I started. So I know I can do this kind of diet, but since the first very successful attempt I have completely failed at reattempts at LL (just can't get into it), so I was wondering if this might be a better option, especially as you don't completely rule out food during the loss period. Good luck with your efforts though, from experience with LL once you get a couple of months in and if you are sticking 100% to the plan, you are totally in a groove and it almost becomes easy.

dm2ooo · 30/03/2015 20:08

Thanks Snowman. I'll just be glad to get the point where I can think about maintenance.

Being able to eat some solid food is definitely better than all liquid or juicing.

I'm not hungry - I still crave foods I like (but not from hunger). Knowing that anything I eat could affect my weight loss is keeping me straight right now! But you're right - I'm hoping once I'm a couple of months in, it'll be easier I think.

Hi, has anyone been on Alizonne and suddenly changed to Alevere? Have you had problems with the new sachets?

Hi Mango - my clinic is in the middle of getting the new sacthes. However i have have aliizonne satches and some new alever satches. the new satches tastes a bit better. I have only had the hot chocloate and orange and pineapple drink in the new satches. They are really nice.

Hi dm2ooo - How are you doing?

dm2ooo · 02/04/2015 17:28

Hi njtp1 - I'm doing good. How about you?

2 weeks in - have lost 13 lbs. Feeling pretty good! By the end of next week, I should weigh the least I have in 2 years.

I thought I'd record my thoughts on some sachets:

All sachets - mix with cold water, and I always blend with a mini whisk. Any other way, I find it hard to get the powder fully combined.

Restricted = you can only have one 'restricted' sachet each day

Hot Chocolate - really nice

Orange / Orange and Pineapple / Orange and Grapefruit: all fine, like squash, perfect for taking on the road

Strawberry Milkshake – tastes like Yazoo. Fine if you like that. Has a small amount of annoying little strawberry seeds – I like smooooooth.

Chocolate pudding (restricted) - Great texture - delicious with some strawberries from your 200g allowance. Even the kids like this one.

Chocolate and Pear pudding – didn’t like it. Wouldn’t bother with it compared with the chocolate pudding. Made a chocolate pancake with it – which was ok with some stevia.

Chicken nuggets - surprisingly nice, vegeburger-like texture. I use 40ml water and add some spices and spring onion. Then fry as a burger. My savoury favourite.

Pizza - This is my bread craving meal. I make a circle (kid's pizza size) on greaseproof paper and bake for 11 mins, leave a few minutes, then flip over. The tomato topping is nice (like Dolmio), than I cover with a thick layer of mushrooms and some spring onions. You could use any veg from the list but this uses no restricted veg.

Goat's cheese - used this for some baked mushrooms - was great. It’s not very cheesy though – quite a subtle flavour. I find this is better cooked and made with less water than directed (around 50ml water). I tried some of top of pizza too (shared across two meals), made a nice tomato-cheese sauce.

Pasta (restricted) – I’m in two minds about this one. I love pasta and this doesn’t have a pasta texture. But it feels bullky made up with a vegetable sauce. Sauce is like the tomato soup so I don’t use it. Going to keep trying for the rest of the box – happy to hear any recipe ideas.

Cheese soufflé – puffs up really well in the oven. Has a nice cheesy taste and soufflé like texture. Goes well with veg / salad.

Potato Pie (restricted) – Jury’s out on this one too. Have tried as potato cakes. It’s ok. Maybe needs less water? Any tips welcome.

Chicken Curry soup - nice if really well blended. Don't overheat.

Beef and onion soup - also nice if well blended. I would prefer it without the little bit of onion but hey ho!

Apple and Hazelnut Oatmeal (restricted) – Have struggled with this. Should be nice but don’t enjoy eating it. Tried making biscuits but they didn’t work.

Lemon Flan – Smells lovely but I didn’t like the texture. Probably a personal thing.

Tomato soup - hated it - really powdery texture. Strongly recommend trying from the swap box before you invest in a box.

Mushroom soup - flavour was ok but I didn't like the little mushroom bits - tried from swap box so didn't mind.

Hi Alevere friends ........... have had consultation but hesitating signing on the dotted line. Can't seem to find many recipes at the moment and worried about getting bored?
Got about 4 stone to loose but will be going on holiday in about 13 weeks, could be near target weight by then, but want to 'enjoy my holiday' - does anybody know how much 'damaged' I would do if I 'fell of the wagon' - wouldn't be excessive got a villa. Any feedback would be grateful, thank you.

dm2ooo · 02/04/2015 23:16

Hi Mybfw1

It's such a personal choice - I haven't been doing Alevere long enough to recommend it. The food is ok - not amazing. You're eating a very restricted diet to get great results (hopefully). I like quite a few of the sachets but I still miss normal food.

If you fall off the wagon - you would lose a week of weight loss I guess - depending on how you eat. I have holidays planned in July. I'm planning to come off so I'll also be saving on sachets and treatments that week - so I'll just add another week to my sentence! :)

I think cheating while you're "on the diet" is just a waste of money. Planning to take a week off - and watching what you eat over that week - I don't think will be such a big deal.

Good luck with your decision!

Hi dm2ooo
Thanks so much for reply, think my decision had already been made but was interested in getting someone's opinion who is actually doing this. Sounds like the answer to my question is just common sense which is what I expected - blow a diet, pay the price - just adds another week/2/3 to the end target. Great to read your opinion on various sachets too. Keep positive and good luck with your weight loss - another week is a bit nearer your goal

Hey Everyone, I've just started the alevere diet and am looking for anyone selling off their old alizonne sachets if anyone has found the diet isn't good for them

Hi everyone. I started Alevere a week ago. My journey has been tough.
Despite strictly following the rules I have not managed to lose any weight. In fact I gained 0.2 kg. Has anyone had this experience? I know it's only been a week but it's discouraging especially when you see your bank balance getting lower.

Hi Staryeta

Not losing weight when you are trying hard is the worst - and one of the main reasons I fall off the wagon. On Alevere (in wk 3) I have lost the amount expected. If I don't lose weight as expected losing the plan, I certainly wouldn't fork out for it.

If you are only consuming the ~800 calories a day on Alevere, you should be losing weight (even if you are not exercising etc). A few thoughts:

  1. Were you on a strict diet before you started Alevere? Huge weight loss at the start is partly due to what happens at the start of every diet. If you were already dieting, you might not see a big loss in the 1st week.

  1. Write down everything you are eating, times, water drunk etc. And discuss with the clinic.

  1. Are you thinking at least 2 litres of water a day?

  1. Are you constipated? Drinking water helps this too. Or I have seen some people saying they eat the oatmeal in the morning (I don't like that sachet).

  1. If you're a woman, is this your time of the month? That can lead to water retention (so you'll catch up in a later week).

  1. Have you had your thyroid etc checked? Could you be pregnant etc? If you are genuinely not losing weight after a month of trying any diet, you should talk to your doctor.

  1. Try doing some gentle exercise to kickstart your metabolism / digestion.

Good luck!

Hi,
I had my first treatment today and picked up the sachets, i was advised there is a recipe book coming soon, but in the mean time i was wondering if anyone knew of any resource to find recipes and if not, can anyone suggest any please?

I have been dieting myself aside from this for the last 6-7 weeks and managed to lose 26lbs so far, the main reason for deciding to use the Alevere diet is for the other treatment, as i am concerned about excess skin when i get to my target weight - 84-98lb more to lose.

I was also wondering if anyone on the diet had tried to source there own vitamins/supplements - i checked with the clinic and they have no problem with this.

As a result of initial consultation and blood works i discovered i have an hyperthyroidism, so will likely be on Thyroxine for the rest of my life, which has a nice little boost of meaning all prescriptions related or unrelated to hyperthyroidsm will be free - not that i tend to get ill.

Thanks dm2000.

I started before my test results came back but am certain that I don't have any issues with my thyroid. A couple things may apply. It was that time of the month and I had been on a low carb diet before I started Alevere.

I have been drinking approximately 3 litres per day. When I asked the clinic if i was drinking too much they said that this was okay. Lets hope things get better this coming week ??.

All the best to everyone.

Hi Beck813,
So far i have tried the smokey bacon omelette, Vanilla Dessert and some of the drinks (orange, orange and grapefruit and tropical)

I cant say i care for the drinks at all, they are tolerable though, and i need the drinks as i work away from home a lot, where i have access to cook.

The vanilla dessert is a lot like custard,i mixed mine with 100g of raspberries from the limited selection, i had this as a dessert after a main course of stirfried veg.

The omelette was also good, i added quite a bit of stuff to it though - recipe below, could easily be changed to different herbs, spices, etc to suit your tastes.

Smokey Bacon Pouch - Mix with water as described on the packet
Add:
Pinch of Salt
Pinch of Pepper
Pinch of Paprika/Piementon
2 Pinch dried Oregano (probably about 1 teaspoon)

1 courgette cubed
100g of tomatoes (cherry toms - piccolo) quartered (limited item)

1 tea spoon olive oil in a pan
Add toms and courgettes and cook for a couple of minutes until courgettes have softened.
Add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder or garlic salt (if using salt i would suggest not seasoning with normal salt)
Add pouch liquid and either be patient and let the "omelette" set or do what i did and scramble the pouch

Total time is less than 10 minutes from packet to plate.

I will update as i try different pouches and recipes i create from them.
