Slimming world and breast feeding whilst on dairy free diet....!

Hiya,

I've done Slimming world on and off for years. It suits me and I always lose weight doing it, my best weight loss being 4 stone which I near enough maintained bar gaining 1/2 a stone during my pregnancy which I'm not bothered about.

I'm now Breast feeding and on a dairy free diet for my baby. Somehow, incredibly, I've managed to gain a fair bit of weight and need to get back on track. So I'm back at SW. My main problem being that I can't physically consume the amount of healthy A's I'm supposed to without bring able to have cows milk/cheese/yoghurt etc.

I'm taking calcichew, so I know I'm getting enough calcium. But seriously, I'm so hungry it's unreal. Never felt like this before on SW!!!

I realise I've not made it clear what my question is...

Basically, has anyone managed tj stick to SW whitst dairy free and Breast feeding??

Did you manage to consume the masses of soya milk you're meant to have??

(I actually much prefer almond milk but your meant to have 2liters of that a day!!! Or 1 litre if you have sweetened.

I did it after Ds2 who was CMPI. I drank oat milk as he also had probs with soya, and no, I never had the amount they stipulated for healthy A, but I think it's mainly about calcium intake and I was on a supplement so I didn't worry. I had my additional healthy extras as massive bowls of cereal, no measly 30g portions for me Grin
Good luck with it and hope your baby is better soon (mine finally outgrew it at 2.5 but was ok with me eating anything i.e. Second hand dairy from about 16m.

My baby is doing really well now. (Touch wood!) I've never been entirely convinced it was a CMPI making her vomit all the time but she's so happy at the moment that I don't want to rock the boat by challenging it.

I had 2 healthy b's (cereal) and a litre of almond milk today. I wasn't quite so hungry today actually.

I really miss cheese and chocolate... But to be honest those two products were the main reason I've been over weight most of my life. Somehow giving them up for my daughter has been much easier to do than giving them up for myself!! (Although I guess it's not totally altruistic as its me who doesn't like her being sick... She never seemed to care!!)

I'm sure my SW Consultant has said that you can split your A choice if you need to. So have half the amount of milk and half the amount of cheese you'd normally have.

Oops just seen that you can't eat cheese either.

Yeah Timmy, any cows milk protien. The dietician also said to avoid goats cheese as the proteins are quite similar :( who'd have thought it?!

Alpro make cheese apparently but I can't imagine it tastes any good...?

I'm not sure I should tell you this but Lindt 70% chocolate is dairy free. Wink
I never found a good cheese substitute, but I couldn't have the soya ones, the pea protein stuff is rank.

Mmmmm..... I LOVE Lindt!! Maybe a hot chocolate made with almond milk and 70% chocolate?!

Following as I am in exactly the same position! Rejoined today as have gained 2 stone during pregnancy Sad and struggling with what to use HEs on; I used to love the rocky road HiFi bars but they are out, as are muller lights. I am a huge SW fan but it's definitely going to be harder dairyfree.

I'm in the same position too - I just can't get the healthy As in. DS also can't tolerate soya so it's Oat milk at the mo for us and I'm hungry too. At least DS isn't being sick though
