A stone in a month is a lot, you need a plan and to extend your deadline to Xmas
I post on the 1st Sept thread and have lost 12lb since then and 23lb in total since July. I have 8lb to go and hoping to lose most of that in Nov before my 40th so would like to join in, I'm losing motivation a bit at the moment even though (because?) I'm nearly there.
I'm basically following SW though I haven't joined, I was a member a few yrs ago to lose weight after previous baby and current flab is due to baby weight and steroids. It's easy enough to follow, I just get a bit bored of planning everything and fall off the wagon. I'm also doing 3 sessions a week of vibrocise which seems to be helping.

I have lost almost a stone during October. However, I am retired and can build exercise into my routine. I swim 4 or 5 days a week for 45 minutes each time. I walk around town instead of using the car or bus. I eat only a little meat and almost no cheese, no biscuits and no cake. I increased the amount of vegetables I eat and decreased the amount of fruit. I have smaller portions of pasta and rice than I did before, substituting more of the sauce. I drink fewer cups of tea and coffee and more water.

I don't feel deprived - I haven't given up wine or bread

I'm in.

I will be cutting out wheat, sugar and alcohol. Yikes.

I did it for ten days in April and it worked well.

Exercise will be walking and going to the gym.

I've lost five pounds in three weeks by cutting out carbs. It's miraculous.

Basically it boils down to what can you stick to in the long term? You can probably lose a stone fairly quickly eating only grapefruit or whatever but you will pile it back on again as soon as you stop. To lose weight without screwing up your metabolism you need to do it gradually (1-2lb a week is realistic, you might get a bigger loss initially depending how much of a change the new diet is) and to be able to maintain the regime. So 5:2 will work, but you'd need to do 6:1 when you're at target, low carb will work but you can't go back to biscuits/cakes etc later.
SW fits well with 'clean eating' if you choose not to eat low fat sweetened processed stuff. Base meals on the free foods (meat, fish, eggs, wholegrain rice or pasta, potatoes, fruit and veg) with at least 1/3 of every meal being fruit or veg ( fresh, frozen, tinned but not dried or fruit juices). Anything processed is high syns so it means cooking from scratch pretty much all the time. I don't bother with measuring the 'healthy extras' ( fibre foods - cereal and bread, calcium foods - milk and cheese) because I'm breastfeeding which gives you extra allowances, but letter of the law these foods only allowed in measured amounts. I find bread really more-ish and causes bloating, so have avoided sandwiches and toast. Eat 3 decent meals and don't snack.

Do you want to post a food diary for a typical day now and we can suggest some alternatives?

I totally agree with the above. A dietician recently told me you should work on choosing healthy, balanced choices 90 per cent of the time so you still have some "treats" but you are really conscious of limiting them. I also agree that you shouldn't overly restrict what you eat as your body will go into starvation mode, you need to get the right level of nutrients, protein and carbs and less sugars etcetera. By watching what I eat and making some sensible choices i have been able to lose weight at a steady rate. Exercise is so important too, I did the Coach to 5k which was great too. I use some products and tools (apps) happy to share if you are interested Smile
