Just that really, as the title says. Smile

Here's my weight(loss) history. Up until I was pregnant with ds1 in 2009/10 I was always a nice size 12, weighing between 11st and 11.7st. I am 5ft9 and average frame so carried this well, not to skinny, but confident. I piled weight on with ds1, lost some of it but finishing at 13st when I fell pregnant with ds2 when I put even more on, I lost 3 stone after having him in the first six months and then life took over (got very difficult for a year) and I lost focus, and now 18mths later I've only put on 6lbs again, so am pleased its not worse, but am 13st6lbs. I just want to get under 12st!

When I last lost weight before a group thread on here really, really helped me. We weighed in each week and kept each other going.

My Christmas present to me is going to be a loss of 21lbs, and it is for me to feel good, healthy and happy about myself again and I cannot think of a nicer present!

Does anyone want to join me on a Christmas Promise thread, we can weigh in weekly and support one another. x

I restarted my MyFitnessPal account as that really helped too. As the first two starters shall we say Thursdays are 'weigh in' days, means you have some time to try and balance out a bad weekend?

I really could do with dropping a stone for Christmas but the question is how? I really don't want to do a diet club so what method are you all going to follow?

I literally calorie count, if o want a treat I have to up my exervise, but mainly I cut carbs and up veg and salad. I am going to stick to 1250 calories a day.

Yes I'm in. Starting back on low carb on Sunday (going to a wedding on Saturday and chose carby veggie choice ages ago) so hope that'll shift a fair chunk.

And then I'm hoping to stay low carb over Christmas and spend my food budget on nicer meats and cheese rather than sweets and crap.

So I'm saying now anyway.

Seeing this thread has just given me the bolt up the bum I needed! Had lost a bit of baby weight (though mainly off my boobs once I stopped bf!) but it's started creeping back on again.

I've realised that I'm existing solely on sugar at the moment and exercise is just not happening at all. Just need to finish off this glass of wine and then I'll start!

Yep, I'm in. Started on Monday actually (low carb) and finding it all quite good at the moment. I finally feel like I owe it to myself to lose this 3st. Not for anyone else, just me. Woman on a mission!

I'm in! I've been doing WW since September and it works for me - when I stick to it! Emotional eating is my downfall so I'm trying to sort some of that out too I was on another thread but it seems to have petered out so maybe I can join you lot! I'm liking the idea of losing weight as a present to yourself!

Sign me up. On 1st December last year I weighed 10st 10 so had just missed my weight loss goal of 10st 7. I swore that by 1st December this year I would be 9st 7. I am currently 10st 7. My weight has been between 10st 10 and 10st 8 for much of the year although has been a a high as 11st and as low as 10st 2. I want to get down to 10st at least. A lb a week should be achievable & yet it seems to hard.

I'll join too if I may. 11st 2. My ideal is 9st 10. I have very little hope of seeing that - I can't remember the last time I was below 10.10 but perhaps this thread will help? Best of luck to all!

Hello all, how was day one? I had whole meal toast, ypgurt and berries at lunch and chicken and cauliflower for tea. :-)

I went out for a meal last night so I won't be starting properly until Monday. I am going to try the 5:2 along with upping my exercise, I have already started that on Fri by doing a bit of running at the gym. I will also be counting calories throughout the week to try & keep some sort of control. More cooking from scratch, lots of homemade soups.

I can certainly talk a good diet, lets see if I can actually stick to it. :-)

Well not a bad day so far, for me. I mean...I've just had a cornetto but everything else has been healthy!

For the first week at this I'm focussing on getting as many fruit and veg per day as I can and avoiding bread as much as possible (it forms the biggest part of my diet when I'm busy/stressed). REALLY want to start good long-term eating habits and I just know if I have a 'diet' mentality it won't end well. Smile

So just like you holdthepage, I need to cut the processed crap (apart from the odd cornettoWink ) and cook hearty meals rather than relying on quick-fixes which have worked in the past but only for a short term and with me obsessing about the things I 'couldn't' have.

I completely agree Jess - its about a change in my relationship with food. I comfort eat, its my biggest sin, so I really need to change that and develop positive relationships with food. I've had an ok day, yogurt and berries for breakfast, roasted vegetable and pesto wholemeal grilled panini for lunch and home-made lasagne with brocoli for tea. Took ds1 swimming and had a long walk with ds2 this eve so a little bit, albeit none of it intensive, exercise! Will see how I fair on myfitnesspal!

Sounds like a great day, especially as it's the weekend. Well done Christmasiscoming! Weekend evenings, are definitely a weakness for me. Just one of many. It's because I feel like I need a little reward for the week and in the past, the thought of weekend treats have kept me motivated to stay with the diet through the week, but it's actually quite a bad habit thay's proven difficult to break; I just need to stop thinking of food as a reward!

Hello everyone. I saw the title and thought I'd pop in. I lost a significant amount of weight about ten years ago. In the last 3 years, all but 4lbs of it has gone back on through emotional eating/comfort eating.

Anyway, I'm motivated to get on top of my eating and exercise habits. I weighed myself today (I live overseas) and 2kgs that's 4.4lbs has gone. Woo hoo.

Presently at least, I'm on track to lose the 8 in 8 that I want to. For me that's 8kgs in 8 weeks prior to Christmas. I've another 6kgs to go, that's about 12lbs. Do-able ? I think so.

Last Saturday DH and I walked 19.4kms across mountainous terrain which took 8 hours. That explains the good weight loss.

I don't expect next week's loss to be as good, but I do expect there to be some lost.

I follow Paul McKenna's hypnotherapy for weight loss programme and I'm taking Rosemary Conley's Eat Yourself Slim plan a lot more seriously as that's how I lost so much weight in the first place.

I've looked at the thread for Paul McKenna, very good. I know Rosemary Conley's Diet and Fitness has gone out of business but the diet worked for me last time.

I'm in too! I'm hoping for a 11kg loss by Christmas. I've already lost just over 2kg of that. I really need to get my head together and have set aside a couple of hours this morning to do just that. My DC both have plans this morning and I'm off work so I'm going to do a meal plan for the next week or so and schedule in some exercise every day. I really want to do this and the only thing stopping me is myself as DH is very supportive. One thing that really works for me is low carving with lots of water. I've upped my water intake over the past few weeks and I really think it helps.

Good luck everyone!
