All methods of weight loss welcome, simply weigh yourself at the beginning and the end of the month and the winner gets to feel all skinny and proud!

Anyone?

I had a 'September' thread.... We all measured as well as weighed. Tape measure can be kinder!

What's your plan of action?

I need to loose about a stone and am a week into a quiting sugar plan.

Oo tape measure is a good shout!

I've been calorie counting for ages and falling off the wagon repeatedly but I've been good for past few weeks so I'm joining a gym tomorrow.

I also conveniently have a wedding to go to on 1st November so desperate to loose a bit during October. I thought a challenge would be a good way to keep on track.

How well did everyone get on for the September one?

Me! I've been MFPing for a couple of weeks so heading for a plateau. It would be nice to have a bit of company!

Count me in!! I need something to help rein me in! Gone off the rails lately as I have been so busy and stressed. If I could be at least 1lb lighter by the end of the month I'd be so happy!! I'd be even happier if I could lose an inch off my waist (thought I need to lose many many more than that, I feel its a good start!!)

Right then ladies, It's 1st October so dooms day!

You don't have to give your starting weight of you are uncomfortable...no telling porkies though! Make sure you write it down somewhere u can find a month later or the whole thing is useless!

Pompom how are u finding no sugar? Have u cut it completely?

And coldfeet I'm sure you can do better than 1lb!

Good luck everyone!

Can I join in? I'll weigh and measure this morning. I'm happy to share my weight, but for people who don't- why not post starting at 100 and then just add the pounds down? That's what some do on other weight loss threads.

ToeFluff · 01/10/2014 08:11

That's such a good idea! Count me as 100 then and I shall do my best to get into double figures!

I'm feeling strangely excited this time round, like I might actually get somewhere..it's a good feeling Grin

right ive my weigh in done and my measurements and written them down. they arent too bad but sure always want something i dont have.

my plan of attack is - plenty of exercise which i do already to be fair.
half a lemon in hot water first thing.
plenty of water during the day at least 2 litres but going to aim for a bit more.
one treat a day coz this is my downfall i just eat crap on top of all the healthy stuff i eat.
use nip and fab on my tummy area everyday hopefully i will think of it.
Dry body brush as often as i think of it. ok maybe twice a week.

goodluck to everyone. and hopefully we wont recognise ourselves by the end of the month.

Count me in. I think I am going to plateau soon, and there are three birthdays in our family this month. I cannot not have a piece of the cakes I am going to make!

Weight this morning : 74.3kg (BMI 25.7)
Hips : 105cm

I would like to be at 72kg at the end of the month, which would put my BMI back in the normal range.

Report
Shockingundercrackers · 01/10/2014 12:33

And breathe in... I was 75.9 kg (a nudge under 12 stone for imperial fans) this morning. I've lost nearly 5kg now by logging everything into MFP (although not weighing things, mostly just guesstimating) and staying under my 1750 per day allowance.

I'm 165cm tall (or 5'5") and I'm still breast feeding my 14 month old. Exercise is a bit tricky because I've got chronic PGP and a prolapse (thank you DS2!) Erm, too much information? Blush but I'm determined to get to my pre baby weight of 63.5kg. There's a long way to go but babysteps and all that...

Going to be horrifically honest, even though I very much dislike what the scales/tape has said this morning.....

15st 5.75lbs this morning (or 97.86kg)
waist (at belly button, not waistband) = 43"/109cm

At only 5ft2 that gives me a BMI of 39.5 Blush

I would like to lost more than 1lb this month toefluff but am trying to be realistic instead of declaring "I will get under 15st" lol which I'm sure is also possible, but I should (fingers crossed) be moving this month, and it will also be my birthday. Moving house will be main problem, as not much time to cook from scratch (we are playing freezer roulette at the moment, trying to empty it out!

I don't plan to do anything drastic. Where possible I will count calories and try to keep below 1800 a day. First things first, I will dig out flask so that I can take tea to work, instead of having vending machine hot chocolate.........

Would like to join too,for too long it's been a 'Ill start tomorrow' thing to do on the list. I'm hoping to use MFP to calorie count and cut down on the carbs (oh god the carbs, I could live on them alone!)

I really struggle to get motivated, so hopefully a challenge like this will keep me on track. The only real time I've lost weight was for 3/4 weeks before a girlie holiday when I lost 8/10lbs but as soon as I go home it was all back to normal. I find myself reading the weight loss chat threads, low carb bootcamp etc and absorbing all the information while sitting there with 2 or 3 empty crisp packets in my lap, it's as if I'm in denial.

There's 4 stone I need to lose to get me into the normal bmi, so I'm hoping to break it up into smaller tasks. Today's start weight is 12st 13 lbs or 82kg.

I too have been known to do this - or watch supersize vs super skinny while eating a take away.......Blush.....oh the shame!!

How tall are you teeb - 4 stone seems a lot to lose when you are 12st 13. If I got down to 8st 13 I'd have a BMI of about 23, but I am short!

Can I join in too? I've lost 21.5kgs in the last year, and I've another 6.5kg to go to get to a bmi of 25. I'm using MFP (1200 cals net daily) and I'm trying to run or get to bootcamp 3/4 times a week. I've been hovering over the same 2kgs for the last 2 months, so I need a kick in the ass to get me going again. My plan is to be at 63kg for Christmas. I weighed myself on Monday and was 69.5kg.

Ooh can I join? Ive got pregnancy weight to lose, baby is 3 months now so I feel like I can start notching things up a gear. I'll post my weight later but I think it's close to 11 stone, not great for a shorty! I'd love to be my pre preg weight (9 1/2 stone) before December- we've loads of birthdays and Christmas and is generally just an eating month in our family.

Is anyone else exercising or are you all just dieting?

Report
ColdFeetWarmHeart · 01/10/2014 14:15

bit shorter than me than teeb - I'm 5ft 2 (I think!)

Iheartlockhart I don't plan to exercise this month, just healthy eating. If I find the time I will go for walks / do a bit of yoga. Will focus on the eating part this month, and then try and add exercise next month

I'm in! 10st 12 this morning. Hmm Goal is 9st 5. Not by November though - at least, not this November. It'd be fab to reach that by Xmas though.

Awesome thread!

I've weighed and measured - 13.4 st, exactly what I was a month ago- I've lost 5 lbs in total. I have at least 3st moreHmm

My waist is. 35 inches.

I'm using mfp and am going to start using it religiously and weighing measuring. I've been exercising regularly for the last 6 weeks- I'm in the gym three times a week, I'm walking 3 miles a day and I'm doing the shred 3/4 times a week.

It's the cheating I've got to stop. Looking though mfp trying to figure out why I've stopped losing- there are weekend days where I haven't logged , when I have I have gone over by 1000+ cals. I've been justifying it by telling myself that it's better just once a week than everyday ( as it used to be) and that now I'm exercising that should compensate for a cheat day or two. It obviously doesn't and here I am a month on and nothing lostBlush

Strapping myself in for a serious change in October . Good luck all

Right just weighed - I'm 10 stone 7.4. Not as bad as I thought! So just a stone to go for me to be happy.

I actually really need it to cos my cheap primark 'these will do for now' jeans are wearing thin at the crotch and I don't want to buy anymore!
