My DH (when he was just BF) split up approx 10 years ago for 3 months. I was depressed (before I left) and started to take ADs at the same time as the split & went to live with my DF.

I lost loads of weight (nearly 3 stone) then we got back together, came off ADs and pretty quickly regained the weight.

Long story short, I have started to take AD again and it's been a week. I have lost 6 pounds. IT WASN'T THE DEVASTATION OF THE SPLIT. It was the antidepressants that made me lose the weight. Excited.

or being depressed that made you gain weight?

Well yes but maybe I'm always depressed...? No, I've always had some kind of eating issue. I think when I'm on ADs I don't need to emotionally eat. It's amazing.

Maybe the depression was making you comfort eat?
Ive been reading a bit lately and it seems depression and eating can sometimes go hand in hand.

What ads are you taking? Just out of curiosity

I hope you are feeling better op

They're called Citalopram. I honestly think they're taking my appetite away, feel great today.

Maybe it could be good for people with eating disorders (like me...)
