How are you thinking of doing it? I've given up booze for a start!

Yep. I'm 5'2" and 11stConfused
Want to aim for 11st to start with, though should lose more really. Small steps though.
I'm going to count calories and use MFP

I've lost nearly a stone in the last 4 months. I've stopped eating chocolate at work except as part of lunch, packed in the mid morning coke at work and started swimming once a week. That's all.

That sounds promising, i quite like swimming and could fit that in to my week.

I don't drink - mine is all food - good food, healthy food, just waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy tooooooo much of it...

thanks for the support - you are right, it is easier if we motivate each other...! baby steps are best for me I think, gradual cut down, or I really do sink into apathy about it all....

Count me in. Also 5'7" and 11.7. Have come down from 13.2 last year so that's good, bit I've stalled at this weight. I'd like to be 10.7 if not 10.2.

(Was 8.0 when I got married 22 years ago :()

Gonna try to do a long walk (1hr+) a couple of times a week, and walk in my lunch break.

I run, which I love, but I currently have shingles Hmm

Have you started? I am eating a sponge pudding. Looks like it'll be tomorrow.

Does anyone use a fitbit? I'm tempted, to try and motivate myself to be more active every day, but they are so much money, but the geek factor does appeal!

I'm in, as shocked to realise I've gone from 11st 3 to 12st and I'm 5'8.
I shouldn't be shocked really am living in with parents at the mo and realised have been eating more wrong stuff thaan right and joining them in a drink every day rather than my normal every now and then.
Having you lot to keep me on the straight and narrow would be great.
So far I'm walking the dog further and faster!, no alcohol , watching my junk intake and a few sit ups a day to get rid of this belly that has appeared.
Not sure how I'll cope once back at work etc but I've got to give it a go.

Not started yet. Just eaten 2 pieces of buttered toast and a biscuit. Brilliant.

I do go running a few times a week, well, jogging. And I'm finishing the last of the Christmas wine tonight, then no more alcohol for a few weeks.

I use My Fitness Pal (app) to record my food. And I do the '2 day diet' from the book by Michelle Harvie and tony Howell. (Is a sensible, clinical diet, easy to follow)

Can I join please? I am 5'8 and 12 stone, have put on a stone since June this year (bloody hell!!). I am doing 5:2 to get myself back on track and then gym and running a min of 3 times per week. My exercise is not the problem, food is!!

Remember, for weight loss 80% is about the food and 20% exercise!

Day two of healthy eating this year and going ok.

Ooooh yes me too please. Am also 5 foot 7 and 11 stone 5lb. Would definitely benefit from losing a stone. Was 10 stone 2 when I got married and was very happy at that weight - any less and I start to look haggard.

Have got through the holiday chocolate and binned the biscuits. Once the kids get back to school I will do the school run (a mile each way) twice a day so that will get me back in the exercise swing. Have also bought wii Zumba and planning on doing that whilst the baby naps.

Started today. Went for a run (2.2km), had scrambled eggs for breakfast, homemade to toad soup and 2 crackers with low fat houmous for lunch. No tea or coffee (fatal for me...tea/coffee means several biscuits). Had hot water with lemon instead.

Am I thin yet??
