DP and weight gain.(4 Posts)
My dh was very similar. He had lost quite a bit with me a couple of years ago but the treats gradually crept back in, the exercise stopped and he wasn't looking himself. I have to admit I didn't find him (or his assumption that I would fancy him whatever) that attractive.
This summer there was the Joe Cross documentary Fat Sick and Nearly Dead. I recorded it and told him I wanted to watch it as I was thinking of giving the juicing thing a go. He eventually agreed to watch it with me one evening, and he was hooked. He now juices as a matter of course and feels fantastic for it.
Men don't like to be told what to do, they like to think they came up with the idea themselves, so what ever you do be creative. Joe Cross is really good because he's a real no nonsense man's man and actually very funny.
I hope you find a solution that works for him, he's too young to be feeling like this, and I think the fact that you are asking shows how much you love him.
Sounds really tough actually. You can't be honest as you don't want to hurt his feelings.
My dh got a little bit this way a few years back and I was rather blunt and I don't think I would be as blunt now as we have known each other much longer now. I said to him I'd hate for him to regret being over weight when he was old and infirm. It was so much easier to just blurt it out back then, though as we were just girlfriend/boyfriend.
Ive name changed because I'm probably going to get flamed, and if im out of order then ill take it on the chin.
I've been with DP for 4 years, we have just had our first baby. I love him he is fantastic with me, dd money ect. I wouldn't pick any one else. Ever. We are in our early 30s
DP is tall so he carries his weight well and he has all ways been stocky, which attracted me to him in the first place. But over the past few years he has put a lot of weight on.
He was a fantastic sports player but due to an injury he had to stop and its just piled on. We don't really go out drinking so treats to us are eating out/take aways/chocolate
when he plays sports now he really struggles and he gets ribbed a lot. At one match I nearly punched a bloke out
not that I would, but wanted too! as he was shouting ' you fat cunt ' to him. I know it bothers him, actually it breaks his heart, as he has to play in lower teams as he just cant keep up.
He has bad hips and the Gp said it was arthritis due to his weight, the GP also had a go at him over his weight as he has put six stone on over 2 1/2 years. When he came back from there he was really determined but it only lasted a few weeks.
I'm worried that he will have a early heart attack or heart disease as he is carrying a lot of weight round his middle now. He uses my pregnancy pillow to ease the pain in his hips.
He is addicted to sugary drinks and his wee is very dark and he wont drink water.
I have talked to him about it loads and even tried dieting/exercise with him. He is not interested in the exercise but will easily drop a stone in a few weeks cutting out sugary drinks and shit, but then it just creeps back in.
This is hideous thing to say and I hate myself for it but its effecting how I feel about him physically. he regularly says that I don't fancy him any more but I just say don't be daft.
Any advice on anything will help. I don't know how to say anything with out sounding like a right cowbag and I don't want him to think ive gone off him
when I have a tiny bit
