Am on day two, doing it from home at least I weigh 10lb less than last time I started!

Going on big holiday (10 year wedding anniversary) for Easter and want to look a darn sight better than I do now.

I weigh in at 13 stone 2lb which I find difficult to admit.

Well, been following WW now for just over 6 weeks now, and have managed to lost 1 stone 1 pound. Feeling really good about it at the moment and finding it good going this week.

Miss pizza though

I'm a bit of an interloper from the slimming world thread, but I have just been having a sort out and have found some old ww books from when I was a member about 4 years ago - they are the ones that theye give you at every meeting. If anyone would like these plesae e mail me and I will post them out to you. They're not very big and are called things like ' Living with points' and 'points to ponder' anyone interested?

SHRose-- How do you find the at home version? I came on to ask people about it cos I want to try it and low and behold here is a post with it in it. Is it good? Have you been to classes before? and if so is the at home pack like it?
I feel to ashamed to go to a class.

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone knows if you get extra points for breastfeeding ?
I dont have time to go to a class but have all the stuff to follow from last time. I am on 20 points a day but breastfeeding ? Would be great if i could justify a few extea cals !

Report
Beccarollover · 22/02/2004 08:25

Motherearth - I did ww while I was breastfeeding and it was GREAT - I could eat SO much!

Ive dug my little book out on it for you and this is what is says....

Daily Point

under 10 stone = 26
10-12 stone = 28
12-14 stone = 30
14-16 stone = 32
16-18 stone = 34
18-20 stone = 36

When you are breast feeding only once or twice a day you can switch to the number of points suitable for your weight in the normal Weight Watchers program.

Keep a supply of low point, healthy snack foods close by such as fruit, veg sticks, yogurts, .ow fat milk, bread, baked beans, tuna, houmous and low fat cheese.

Avoid drinking too much tea or coffee

Spend your points wisely, we sugget that you still limit the number of points you spend on alcohol to 14 or fewer a week

We recommend you do not lose more than 1-2lb per week, more than this may affect milk supply and make you feel tired.

Hi LadyCodsworth. Going to be brave and post it here then!!! I am only 5 foot but had reached 9 stone, 13lbs I honestly didn't realise I weighed that much and just felt a bit heavy of my thighs and tummy. I have now lost just over a stone and would like to be about 7 stone 12 or 13 - so total loss of 2 stone. Had a heavy weekend this weekend so unlikely to lose this week - just hope I don't put on. But feel much bette already. Trouble is a lot of my clothes, especially trousers are too big and keep slipping down

Champs - I only do WW at home, no classes BUT I also don't subscribe to the WW online buit either. I just have a computer file with all the point values on and do it from there. Having to post losses on here seems to give me enough motivation.

Morning ladies, just had my first home weigh in and I've lost 5lb this week. My husband has lost 7lb but he did have his clothes on last Sunday!

We are both 2/3 stone overweight and have made a pact to 'sort it out'.

Feeling really positive, bought the WW magazine and I'm using all my stuff from last time Might go to a meeting just to up date things but don't want to pay for a weekly weigh in.

LadyCodworth · 22/02/2004 14:45

according to ww

my sil is 5 foot and aims for 7.5 stone too.

I am 5 7 and was 1010 am now 10 3 I think..cant remember

as long as the scales are under 10 st in the am that is fine

People really noticing now i HAVE HIT HALF A STONE iTHINK (oops)

Report
Hulababy · 22/02/2004 14:46

Not sure as I have never been to WW. TBH I will be happy for the scales to say under 8 stone.

It is lovely when people notice isn't it?

Report
Hulababy · 22/02/2004 14:56

Been on WW site. For 5 foot it suggests that the minumim weight for starting should be 8 stone. At my current weight my BMI is 24, and it should be between 20 and 25 so I have definitely improved. The lowest weight it will allow me to go for calculating purposes is 7 stone 8 pound.

Right. I'm using masses of no-points soup, but have just made chicken stock from carcass (just carcass, jelly from microwave dish the chicken was cooked in, water, onion, herbs). How many points do you think chicken stock is? I can't bring myself to use a stock cube for soup when I have proper stock sitting in the fridge! I've got 3 flora tubs of the stuff - do you think its a point a tub since its basically water, or loads for the jelly? I scraped the fat off the top of the jelly, and skimmed the stock, so I don't THINK it is too bad, but am prepared to be corrected! Thanks, M.

SecondhandRose · 22/02/2004 18:45

miranda, I can't bear to think about it!

I've been eating loads of that sugar free zero point jelly. I'm wobbling more than ever.

Had lunch out today, thought it would be low fat, chose salmon fishcakes but I think I used all 18 points in one go.

Perhaps just more jelly and an early night me thinks.

Lady C, well done, I'm just under 5ft 9" and 13 stone 2lb but would love to be under 10 stone but am dreaming so will take each day at a time.

WW is fab! I went 2 yrs ago after ds was born and lost 2 and a half stone. It does help if your dh does it too. He lost a stone as well as we had both eaten for 3 during my pregnancy.

Marina, I started doing ww three and a bit weeks ago and I'm amazed how good it is. I've never dieted before, this way I'm losing a steady 2lb a week without getting hungry. I'm not actually doing the meetings, my sister has given me her books and I'm ignoring their meal plans, just calculating the points and sticking to the daily limits. So I'm sure the online version would be fine - you just need the points list really. Would offer to photocopy it, but don't want to get done for breach of copyright!! How secure is this site??
