Congratulations everyone! :)

Well, writing everything down seems to be working well atm. Yesterday I managed to stay away from the biscuits and the chocolate. Same again today. Yes! :o

I'm going to have SUnday lunch at mama Cherry's soul shack in Brighton this weekend. Does anyone else remember it from Gordon Ramseys programme? But I'm going to be good and save up some calories between now and then so I can enjoy it. (at least thats the plan)

Thanks for letting me join in. WWB - have just emailed you with my statistics Blush

I've just got hold of the Paul McKenna book and motivational CD - anyone tried it?? I think I need to write everything down too...

SJ - I remember the Gordan Ramsay programme about that restaurant, it looked fab, I love that kind of food Smile. Save your cals and ENJOY!

amazonianwoman, haven't tried the Paul McKenna thing, although I've seen other threads about it. Did read an article in Eve on it a few days ago, and it sounds as though it would fit in well with my current preferred 'diet' of 'eat what you want but in much smaller portions'. I'll be interested to hear what you think.

JackieNo - that's exactly it, he bases it on the (researched) habits of naturally thin people, ie only eat when hungry, stop when full, ENJOY what you're eating. And one other principal I can't remember! Have only listened to the CD once, aiming to listen to it once a day.

Will keep you posted!

Am I still allowed in????????????

Duh - posted this on the second thread created!

Congratulations Dee! Lovely news! Smile I had a bit of an 'off' day yesterday - ate pizza, garlic bread and potato wedges! Shock I have done well today so far though and planning pasta salad with oil free french dressing for dinner so that is pretty good. I would really like to loose 3lbs this week to get to 1/2 stone off - will have to get some exercise over the weekend!

Belated congrats on the engagement, DeeSmile. Think this weekend is not going to help in the weight loss stakes. We have visitors, which means doing lots of proper meals (including puddings), plus cakes, biscuits etc. Not to mention the odd glass of wine. So not expecting much of a loss on WedSad.

Congratulations, Dee Smile

Had a bad, bad, bad day today ... took dd out for the day and ended up having a muffin with a cup of tea, an ice-cream, and crisps and crackers with lunch. And then dh brought pizza home for tea ... and I couldn't not eat it, could I!

My willpower is crap at the moment and although I've managed to resist dh's sabotaging efforts for the last couple of weeks I couldn't tonight. Mind you, I've made him hide the enormous tin of Miniature Heroes he brought home last week, so I don't have to worry about them.

Your bad day isn't anything compared to my bad weekend Grin. Went to stay with a friend for the weekend in Brighton - she ordered curry takeaway on Sat Shock and then we went for lunch at mama Cherri's soul shack, everything was fried Shock but then Shock I topped it off with Shock a key lime pie ShockShockShock. I'm a bad bad girl, but I cannot tell a lie - I enjoyed it Shock

Not sure I'll still be enjoying it on Wednesday when I get on the scales!

I think we're all allowed a bit of an indulgence sometimes ... we'd go mad if we weren't. I just feel as if I haven't stopped eating all day and could feel myself getting out of control, which I really don't want to do again.

IKWYM, I was quite pleased at myself that I came in and had a reasonable dinner. No cal home made veg soup, couple of muffins with ham and egg. I would normally have thought "what the hell" and launched into an orgy of eating. I did feel I wanted to keep eating so brought up a low fat pineapple cottage cheese to eat whilst logging onto mumsnet.

It was totally unnecessary, but at less than 200 cals it kept my mouth occupied and logging onto mumsnet kept me out of the kitchen!

oh sue - What did you have to eat at the soul shack? I saw it on telly and food looks scrummy! Don't think I could warrant a visit all the way from scotland though!

Mmm - as predicted, not too great here. Ate out yesterday lunchtime (chicken and avocado burger, chipsBlush) but did have a large cappucino instead of pudding (I know they can be pretty calorific too, but it felt as if it wasn't as bad as a pud). Then last night DH had made a big chicken casserole in our new slow cooker, and I made pear and chocolate crumble, with hazlenuts in the crumble mixture, as well as the chocolate. Had to eat it with ice cream didn't we. And there's still a load leftSad. Oh well - have to try to go for a walk this afternoon.

It's a recipe card I picked up in Waitrose, and it's delicious! It's pretty easy to make - the only thing that makes it a bit time-consuming for me is that I'm dreadful at peeling and cutting up the pears - very slow. I'll happily post the recipe, but maybe not on this thread, ehWink.
