i'm dropping a stone - my boring food/exercise diary

I like logging food/exercise but CBA with MFP. I don't want to Low carb or 5:2 or Dukan or anything (I hate being told what to do!) I know how to lose weight. I need to eat well and run more. This is my diary, you are welcome to join me, otherwise i'm happy to witter on to myself smile

I'm size 12 and today I weigh 11st4. Asap I want to be 10st4 then I will reassess and decide if further action is required!

So today:

Breakfast - Low fat greek yog with blueberries and honey
Lunch - 2 x carrots with cream cheese
Snack - half a melon
Dinner - Grilled tuna steak in nicoise salad (green beans, toms, cuc, olives, anchovies and 2 new pots + vinaigrette)

Exercise: Ran 5 miles in about 50 minutes

Lunch - 3 x ryvita with cream cheese and cucumber
Snack - apple
Dinner - grilled chicken breast with roasted peppers piedmont style.

Exercise: Vigorous hoovering of the whole house and 50 sit ups

Yesterday was as planned + a 70cal snack bag of dried apricots


Breakfast - Low fat greek yog with blueberries and honey
Lunch - 3 x ryvita with cream cheese, ham and cucumber
Snack - melon
Dinner - pork escalope in breadcrumbs with garlic mushrooms and steamed broccoli

Exercise - run 5k and 50 sit ups

Yesterday as planned except had steamed asparagus instead of garlic mushrooms with dinner.

Friday weigh in: 11st so that's 4lbs off smile

Breakfast - Low fat greek yog with blueberries and honey
Lunch - apple, celery and carrot sticks with cream cheese
Teatime - half a small HM scone with cream and jam
Dinner - HM quiche and salad
Snack - strawberries

Exercise - 50 sit ups

Well done! I'll join you on Monday. I weigh 11 stone too and I'd like to shake a stone.

I plan on reducing my sugar intake, and up my exercise.

Hi house see you Monday! I'm weighing on Fridays as weekends are always a bit more relaxed for me - much easier to be 'good' during the week!

Only ate half my pizza last night but did drink gallons of wine grin whoops! But this is allowed as I won't be drinking booze again until next friday so there.

Lunch & dinner - don't know yet...this is why weekends get dangerous!

Exercise: 5 mile run

Hi fauxfox, can I join in with you? I'm 5'4" and currently weigh 10st 13lbs, want to get to 9st 13lbs then see if I can get to 9.5 stone after that. I'm wearing size 14 jeans so would be nice to drop a dress size. I will try to run/exercise more too. Yesterday I ran 4 miles, can't get out today but will try to do workout dvd at home instead and try to incorporate more activity in general.

So far I've had a mushroom omelette for breakfast, prob going to have soup for lunch. No idea about dinner yet.

I decided the other food today:
Lunch - half a pot of fresh tomato soup + 2 ryvita
Dinner - Lamb tagine with cous cous and roast courgettes
Hi Lights hot choc this evening too

Your food today sounds good. I'm going to have a horlicks light tonight...booze free here too until next weekend after a few glasses of yummy shiraz last night smile

Went out for lunch with dcs so soup for dinner tonight. We went to one of those chinese buffet type places so it was beef in black bean sauce, green beans and boiled rice then fresh fruit salad for dessert (plus two forkfuls of cake!).

Have done some leg squats and will do some push ups. Will try to fit an exercise dvd in too. Hoping to run tomorrow, short distance of two miles but at fast intervals pace.

I soooo want to lose this stone before end of June if possible!!

Well done Faux Fox...been reading your thread since it started but hadn't got round to posting. I'll commit and say I'll join up tomorrow ! Will weigh in in the morning. Sunday is my wine day so enjoying a glass of Merlot as we speak.

I need to get exercising but I've been feeling a bit s*it lately. Waiting on test results to see if I have MS (I've had mild symptoms) so my head has been all over the place recently. I can't use that as an excuse though - I know losing some weight and fitting into clothes that I bought 2 summers ago but still haven't worn will definitely make me feel better ! See you tomorrow x

Just had bowl of lentil soup and a banana while I watched 'The Voice' so no more food now till tomorrow except my mug of horlicks!

I'll weigh in tomorrow morning to start the week too.

Did some push ups using a kitchen chair to lean giving me weird looks...fair enough, I'm sure it's not a pretty sight grin

Hi all.
I would like to join. I find MFP a pain.but like the idea of logging. I am breastfeeding my 4 month old so will not be dieting as such, just trying to be more conscious of what I eat. And less cake.
Will weigh in tomorrow but think I am about 10 stone. Only 5'0 so need to shift a couple of stone, slowly. Also want to tone up as I have v attractive CSection overhang, nice!
Plan for tomorrow:
Bfast - toast, greek yoghurt.
Lunch - not sure.
Dinner - risotto with leftover baked ham, salad
8 glasses of water (need to work on this)
Will see how it goes. Have a zumba thing for the wii, going to try that for exercise.

I have weighed this morning and I'm 10 st 11.5lbs yayyy!!!

Breakfast : 2 slices wholemeal toast with butter and a banana
Cup of tea

Lunch : soup

Dinner : stir fry with rice, fresh fruit

I want to get out for a run and also going to do major cleaning blast as off work today. Have done about 30 leg squats so far...will keep at them, also some push ups. How much running do you normally do faux? I'm slowly building up my mileage again after getting out of the running habit for a while. Starting to really enjoy it again smile

Need to remember to drink more water too.

Have a good day everyone, think how good we'll feel that we ditched that stone for summer!

Didn't have time for my run today so will have to fit an extra one in during the week. Have done over 50 leg squats, aiming to do 50 push ups and 50 sit ups before bedtime,aarghhh!

Gym session tomorrow which will be a combination of treadmill and weights/core stability exercises.

How's everyone else's day been smile

Well I weighed in at 10st 7lbs which has pissed me right off....but there's only one thing to do about it...yes, step away from the wine and Mars Bars Justin !!!!

Starting the 5:2 fast from tomorrow...I read the book earlier in the year and toyed with it but it's now time to get my finger oot ma arse. Not sure what I'll be doing exercise wise. I hurt my back last week and it's still pretty sore. Will need to get my thinking cap on.

Stay away from those mars bars and booze, Justin!!! Aaaahhh, I love wine and choccy...why can't they be fat-burning foods, not fair at all. I had got into a really bad habit of wine/crisps after dcs in bed and I'm trying so hard to break it, was literally munching and glugging 100's of kcals in space of an hour to wonder I've piled on a few lbs. It's green tea tonight instead and some sit ups.

Not sure what exercises to recommend if back sore or maybe better to rest it for a while till pain subsides? Swimming is low impact, maybe that would be good once back feels better if you enjoy going to the pool?

I'm trying to just move more in general...anything to burn off cals (I'm on holiday beg July and I could not venture out in bikini at present, drastic action required!!!

I basically spent all day yesterday trying not to eat loads of biscuit-type comfort food or go back to bed! Not sure why confused I managed to keep it to 3 jaffa cakes extra to my plan but unfortunately succumbed to several glasses of wine last night - naughty!

Feel a bit better today (which is just as well as I have a tonne of work to do). I try and run 3 or 4 times a week tiger but it depends on my other commitments/the weather. I feel like going this morning but I need to dye my roots and last time I did this after a run it didn't 'take' as well (too sweaty?) so i'll go tomorrow.

Food today:
Breakfast - Low fat greek yog with melon and honey
Lunch - baked beans
Snack - apple
Dinner - Gammon steak with roast parsnips and green beans
and NO WINE!

We all have days like that faux, you did well managing to stop at 3 jaffa cakes..I find them hard to resist! I weighed myself this morn (why, I don't know??) and am back to 10st 13lbs, what's that all about? Couldn't have put on 1.5lbs in a day surely despite eating well.

Three or four runs a week is good going. I'm trying to get out more, would like to be doing two shorter runs during the week then a longer run at the weekends to increase distance but finding the time is often difficult here too.

Today's plan

Breakfast : slice toast and butter

Protein shake after gym (tough session!)

Lunch : veg soup, banana

Dinner : salmon and roasted veg

Hot choc (light) and green tea (miss my wine but trying to reduce to one or two weekend nights and maybe one midweek night...aiming for 4-5 alcohol free nights a week)
