I've just joined a gym for the very first time Hmm and have booked a beginner spin class there. Has anyone ever been to one? what should i wear? (spin trainers???) and did u enjoy it?

What other classes would u recommend?

Do you mean the trainers that clip to the pedal (cleats?!)? If so, just wear normal trainers and normal gym clothes. I tend to wear leggings over shorts, as my shorts get rucked up and it all gets a bit revealing! I enjoy spin, but sometimes get a bit bored.. All of Les Mills classes are good, so body attack, body combat and body pump. But attack can be a bit of a killer if you're not reasonably fit already. Well done for taking the plunge, enjoy!!!

Also if you've not been on a bike for a while, you'll feel it tomorrow!

I meant leggings instead of shorts. Not some weird layered look! Also make sure your leggings / trousers aren't see through, as anyone behind you will have a v intimate view!

I love spin class.
I just wear normal gym gear and trainers, take a hand towel as it gets sweaty.
Fab exercise for your bum and thighs, great calorie burn. 20 mins is fab beginner length as well, really good idea.
Enjoy Smile

Well done you! Smile
I go by myself, though am matey with quite a few people when I get there.
I don't like the thought that I would be swayed not to go or sway someone else and dh works long hours. Though he knows my weds spin class and sat morning parkrun are non negotiable. Ish.
Carry on, spin is really addictive and has sorted my back muffin top out a treat.

Spin is brilliant, I love it.

Body pump and Body combat have been the ones for me though....my weigh loss really started again once I got into those - combat is a brill calorie burner, I burn about 500 cals during the hour session.

I gym alone but have made loads of new friends there. It's nice to have a gym bud (I do have a pole bud) but I don't mind gyming solo.

I can only make one spin class a week, also do gym, running/parkrun, and Kettlecise when I can. If I can't get to gym or a class I run or do a DVD.
I like to have a variety, or else I get bored Grin
