Thanks BIWI :)
Good luck with weigh in campers.
Managed to get back to just below target with a good strict ten days, after weeks of carb creep and avoiding the thread ( sticking my head in the sand Blush). My challenge is to stay there and keep eating healthily... whenever I introduce carbs I get all bingey- may just stick to veggy carbs and a bit more milk until after my hols at easter (all inclusive...aaagh!)

Thanks for the thread, BIWI.

So sorry to hear your news, Clare. I am sure you will find plenty of support here, but I do think you need to be kind to yourself and take it very easy. Thinking of you.

Forgot to weigh before I had a cup of tea today so will try tomorrow. Not overly optimistic but think it is better to keep a track of it once a week rather than not weigh for 4 weeks and then think "how much???"

Hope everyone has a good day.

Thanks kitchenfairy, no I didn't succumb to the spuds but may have had parsnips instead and a Yorkshire pudding.

Back on straight and narrow today, had bacon and scrambled eggs for breakfast.

Clare I'm so sorry about your loss. Welcome back, I'm sure we'll all be carrying on and nattering away when 'official' bootcamp is over.

cathyandclaire congrats on hitting target again!

1lb off here. This bootcamp has been a bit of a slog for me as I crawl towards target, but I though I'd list some of the great things that are still happening even if the whooooshes are not...

  • my nails are, for the first time ever are actually growing strong.
  • I don't have big mood swings
  • I don't fall into a tired heap (and therefore a biscuit tin) at 4pm
  • My dodgy joints are less inflamed and therefore less painful. I actually did a spot of yoga for the first time in years.
  • My sleep (when not punctuated by small children) is much better, I think because my innards aren't fighting with the gas and bloat of carbs.
  • I get to natter on to you lot and share your lovely recipes.

    So it's all good!

So sorry Clare - I've had two MMCs Sad and the best bit of advice I was given after the first one was to be kind to myself as I would experience weird mood swings 'cos my hormones were all over the place.

i'm sorry Clare8, take care of yourself:(

i have just filled in the spreadsheet and I am at 65kg! this is very very good. i have to lose another 5 kg though. I am stuck at 65kg and follow the woe religously - any tips? I have just started to eat smaller portion sizes, but I eat with the dc, and they are so slow and chatter... no matter how slow I eat I still end up finishing ages before them!

well done to the losers:)

Oh Clare, how sad. Be kind to yourself.

0.2lbs off for me - I am telling myself a loss is still a loss! And wine was had on Friday and Saturday and possibly a small Creme Egg

To whoever asked for the curry recipe - a colleague who went on an Indian cooking course gave it to me, it took forever and involved making your own paste and about 17 different spices. If you'd like it remind me who you are and I will PM you as it's really long - though totally delicious.

Pub lunch with work today, planning steak and salad and coleslaw. Currently eating yogurt with a few blueberries and wishing I had something more warming as it's snowing in Dorset!

Sorry for your loss Clare Thanks

Ewan dodgy joints do indeed respond to weight loss. Knees particularly love having less pressure on them.

I'm 9 stone 4 - one pound to go and I'm where I want to be.

littlermsstan

Its me. I'd love the recipe please.

Had protein powder and almond flour pancakes with orange essence in the batter topped with loads of butter. I live this woe!

Sorry for your loss clare

I am 2lb down this week so am pleased with that, as long as the trend is downwards I'm fine with it.

Ewan Oddly enough I just thought yesterday that I am not as achey as I was. I say oddly because I still have many, many stones to go.

Black I haven't got to grips with leptin and resistance yet but there is a lot of contradictory stuff around from what I've read. Some places say strict low carb all the time, others say strict low carb with a carb cheat every now and again to stop the body getting used to it. If you get your head around it please do share it with us!

Thanks for the welcome on the other thread - hello to some 'old' faces too! It feels good to be back.

Have not got off to the most organised of starts tbh - early meeting this am meant I slurped down a cup of tea and semi skimmed without thinking. But am getting my head back into the right space and looking forward to the pounds dropping off!

Am thinking roast chicken slices for lunch... or maybe prawns with mayo...

Arse. It's snowing quite hard here (S London) and that means I am going to have to brave driving to get the kids from school. Plus tonight is Brownies etc. so much running about. I hate driving in snow. Let's hope it doesn't settle.

Can I just ask re cauli mash, I made for the first time last week and, whilst nice, it was a bit sloppy. Did I do something wrong or is it always like that? I have made my kids a shep pie using potato left over mash. Do you think if I did half and half potato / cauliflower they would taste it? One of them can be a bit resistant to new things, esp of the veg variety.

Stay warm, everyone.

Report
LavenderBriggs · 11/03/2013 10:22

sybilfaulty did you boil the cauli? I find it gets a bit waterlogged unless I steam or microwave it.

Oh and it's Masterchef again tomorrow. I'm out but will have recording set. I love Masterchef. Will anyone else be watching?

I love being on a thread with people who love food. When I did Dukan a few years ago, the thread was a little depressing (though the woman on it were lovely). THere is only so excited one can get about oatbran and muller light yoghurt....
