March Diet - Need to shed a stone in 5 weeks

Moknicker · 24/02/2013 15:43

Ive moved to the US and put on the dreaded New York stone and cant shake it off. I keep losing and putting on the same five pounds - xmas, ski trips, PIL visiting - everything keeps tripping me up.

I have a clear month till the end of March - no visitors, DH traveling so its now or never. Need lots of support to stay on the wagon. Anyone in a similar boat? What is working for you to stay motivated?

Yes me. I've joined many a thread and failed but I want to try and lose a dress size for my ds2 christening on Easter Sunday. I'm not very good at this and need support, someone who won't mind me posting "I need chocolate" and that someone to say "step away from the snacks". If you can do that for me I will support you in any way I can.

Hi Hugandroll - good to hear from you. Lets do thatI together. My goal is to lose 14 pounds. Im small and the stone although it doesnt sound much makes me look massive.

Weight this morning - 58.2 kgs (am v short)
Goal weight: 52 kgs

Im going to try and do a low carb diet but have fruits and veggies and also try and stick to 1200 cals/day and do some form of exercise no matter how small. Ive already blown it this morning but will now get back on the wagon.

I read that as 'I need to shed 5 stone in weeks'

I only came on to tell you you'll be needing to have both legs amputated. Grin

Good luck with it though.

Not the legs, the diet. Obviously. Confused

Hi, I'm exactly the same boat, need to loose a stone in 5 weeks! So I'm in :)

Me, please. I've lost a stone this year which I needed to do & am back to a healthy weight. I still could do with losing another stone, although half would do. According to my fitness pal, if I lost almost 2 stone, I'd still be a healthy weight but I find that hard to believe.

Fellatio - thanks :) - come on this thread and make up laugh once in a while. Think we will need some cheering up.

Pampers welcome!

I'm crap at dieting...I've never really done it properly as I've never been overweight til now so I need much encouragement & hand holding.

Weighed and measured. I'm 5 foot 7, 12.2.6, 35 waist 41 hips. Took other measurements too but won't bore you with all of them. Before my nan died on Halloween I was 10 stone something with a 30 inch waist Blush. Hope I stick to it this time.

Pampers don't forget I'm a whole 6 oz heavier that you Wink.

Day 1 is always a struggle, had shreddies for breakfast and a coffee. I'm hungry now but am going to drink a bottle of water to see if that helps first.

I've got some meal replacement bars from a VLCD i did a while ago so I'm having one of them with a cuppa char for breakfast.

I'm currently going through things I eat most often and I've got a pad with:

Item, portion weight, calories per 100g.

So I can just reference that when eating.

Morning all. DIdnt have a low carb day yesterday but did keep to total calorie consumption and exercise regime. Have got back to slightly over my pre holiday weight but a lot more to go. Most of it is probably water loss but still it helps.

Will try and be good today. Ive got 4 days till DH comes back from a work trip so want to lose a kilo by then. Probably a bit optimistic.

Weight. 56.7kg
Goal wt: 52 kg

(am v. short and ladies)

Shred day one complete. I struggled with the strength training, my legs burned but the cardio and abs were fine. Think ill be fine to move to phase 2 in 10 days.

That's great Hug - at least we have made a start. The shred sounds tough but effective. Off for a run now.

Well done hug! Last night I made curried cauliflower soup, roast butternut soup, courgette and broccoli soup for lunches this week and then I did a spaghetti Bol sauce, chicken balti, chicken tikka masala, chicken in cream sauce and a huge beef casserole all low carb and all for dinners either with cauliflower rice or just in a bowl on their own. Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon for breakfast!

I normally walk 3-4 miles a day anyway but going to up this to 5-7 miles and cut out the wine (biggest downfall for me!)

Well done spam.

I have a day off work today as ds1 has an audiology appointment. I don't work Monday but have ds2 with me then so at the moment I'm home alone (ds1 is in school until the appointment). This also means I don't have anything really to think of at the moment and I'm really hungry. I'm going to wait a bit and if it continues I'm going to have a banana.

Hug - I was really hungry about half an hour ago but had a coffee with soya milk and a pint of water - not hungry now....I think a lot of "hunger" is actually thirst.

HugAndRoll · 26/02/2013 12:25

I agree. A coffee sorted me out. Had quite a high cal lunch (ham sandwich but I use proper ham not reformed and homemade bread) but ofsetting that with a healthy dinner of ratatouille and couscous.
