2013 Weight Watchers over here!

The previous thread title and OP wad intended for information only, but as a few people arrived wanting a bit of mutual support, I thought a more specific thread title might be in order, esp if there's anyone else wanting to join in. I think the cashback deal on online membership expires now, anyway.

Can you introduce yourselves with a quick summary of your aims, please?

I'll be doing Weight Watchers online only. DS is nearly 10 weeks and I'm BFing, so I get 40PPs a day, plus the weeklies. I'm not sure how easily the weight will come off with that amount, but can't cut down any further yet.

I have 3 1/2 st to lose altogether. I'm currently 12st 7lb and was 10st pre-DC after previous success with WW. I'd like to go a bit further this time.

My short term goal is to be a bit slimmer for a family wedding next month. Unfortunately I'm the gat cousin and need any extra confidence I can get.

My WI is Thursday. So far, so good. I'm snacking but sticking to my PPs + weeklies. Struggling to get much exercise due to two poorly DCs, but hoping to find time for a DVD today.

Hi, I've signed up with their monthly pass and first weigh in is on Tuesday. I did WW over 11 years ago and it was great, but then babies arrived and I'm now trying to shift this last 2 stone. I'm not starting officially til Wednesday when I getting point allowance.
I would like at least a stone off by April as I have a graduation ceremony to go to. That seems achievable doesn't it?

Can I join, even though I joined weight watchers a few months ago?

I've lost 15lb so far (in ten weeks) and have another 1.5 stone to go.

I have found that my weight comes off a lot quicker if I steer clear of ready meals and sugary foods. I also lose far more weight if I do lots of "filling and healthy" days.

My weigh in day is a Wednesday morning.

Yay hello shiny new thread!

Rumours that does sound achievable Smile I graduate in July and hoping to have lost about 2 stone by then, but even a stone would be nice.

I'm joining classes on the 19th and DP is coming with me, I'm very excited. So until then I'm going off what I can find on the Internet - doing well so far, and finding it really easy to stick to! Was on SW last year for a bit and just didn't get on with it, I found it really restrictive which is funny as that's what people who swear by SW say about WW! Grin

I want to lose 57lbs, which is just over 4 stone. Eeek Blush Little steps... Focusing on my first 5lbs first!

Just made a massive pot of chicken and sweetcorn soup, left it in the slow cooker overnight and had a quick taste - delicious! Is 5pp for the entire thing but that's loads, not sure how to point it when I have some later on. Might add noodles to it so that'll bump it up (and make it more filling) Smile

Hi, can I join, please? Started WW on Boxing Day. Second baby 5 months ago, BF so I have 33 points. A stone and a half to get back into my normal clothes (now a stone although I think initial loss is emptier tum as I usually eat loads...). Thanks for starting a thread, Forks.

Morning ladies

I joined yesterday and nearly fainted at my first weigh in - much more than I'd thought!

Have 4st to lose to get back to my 2007 weight (when i did ww before). I'm hoping that I can shed this by may as that's when I think we will be ttc. I think it's better for me to slim first before getting pg - if I h
Don't I'll end up a whale!

Have a hectic mon-fri working life so an being super organised by making and freezing meals for the week. Made chilli beef from the website yesterday and am going to make some soup today.

No idea how to start exercising as I'm out of the house 7-7 every day. Might dig out my davina DVD

Hi, I am doing WW online and currently weigh in at 10 st 8 but at 5ft 2 it is far too heavy for me. I would like to lose at least one stone to get back into the majority of my clothes but my dream would be to get back to 9 stone 3. I first did WW after I had DD and got down to 9 stone 3 which I was able to maintain. However since I had DS, I have struggled to get below 9 stone 8. I somehow put half a stone on last winter, spent most of last year trying half heartedly to lose it (and failing miserably) and managed to add another half stone on over the festive period.

I have decided to commit to losing weight by doing WW online and to kick start the weight loss I am also giving up alcohol for January and getting back into a exercise routine.

Rumours - a stone by April is totally achieveable

My weigh in day is Friday and I am looking forward to fitting into more of my clothes and moving out of my baggy tops.

onthemetro, is the recipe for the chicken and sweetcorn soup online, or is it you own?

I am thinking of signing up to WW again - I'm not sure what I have to lose as I haven't stepped on the scales since the summer! Probably about a stone.

I am wondering about doing the online WW and starting tomorrow... I see you are doing online Livingin - just wondering if it will be enough motivation for me?

Just realised that you are doing it online too Fork! Blush

Ineedthat, I combined a few recipes and made it up as I went along pretty much!

1 chicken leg (this was all we had in, probably would have used more if we'd had it) - 4pp
3 tsps chicken bovril - 1pp
Salt & pepper
1 chicken oxo cube - 0pp
Tsp of parsley
Loads of sweetcorn, and I also threw in some onions, carrots, peas and broccoli (I used all frozen stuff)

Put the veg at the bottom of the slow cooker, then put the chicken on top, sprinkle the herbs, oxo cube, salt & pepper over the chicken then spoon in the bovril, cover everything with boiling water and then cook on low overnight.
Then this morning I took out the chicken, flaked/cut it up on a plate, removed the bones and put it back in and left it on low for a little bit longer.

You could probably do it in a pan just as well, but obviously not overnight. I'd add some spring onions too probably, but I'm trying to use up things I have in and I didn't have any.

Guess it's not really much of a soup, more of a broth? Lovely anyway. Will probably be adding a 'nest' of Amoy straight to wok medium noodles too, which are 7pp

Thank you Fork for starting up the new thread.
I am horribly overweight, and I have just piled on the pounds over the years to the point that I'm now sixteen and a half stone. I have four kids, three with SN so I am a SAHM. I want to lose at least four stone to start with, see how I get on. My goal is to be thinner (obviously), and to be able to wear knee length boots that zip up this autumn. Smile
I know that I can do this and decided to give the Filling and Healthy Foods list a go this week. So far so good, I walked for an hour yesterday so earned some activity points to boost my weeklies.
My weigh in is on Wednesday. I hope to have lost at least two pounds so that this week hasn't been in vain Wink

I'm an online member but I've lapsed since I ran a half marathon in mid-October. Sadly I continued to eat the same amount of food but didn't do the exercise to back it up so I've out on 10lbs. Sad Angry

Have been back running for the last couple of weeks but I think this has simply helped me to maintain with the amount of junk I've eaten Blush.

So I'm restarting my tracking from tomorrow (need to go shopping this afternoon to stock up) and I want to lose a stone by the end of the month (realise this is quite a lot in a short space of time however I believe that as soon as I stop eating chocolate with every meal, a fair few pounds will drop off). I'm 5' 11" and 14:11. So I'm telling you all I will:

  • track faithfully and stay within my points
  • go running 3 times a week (2x 3miles plus one longer)
  • walk to work at least 1 day but aim for 2 (2 miles)

There. It's on paper (sort of) now so I have to do it.

I'm in please! Great timing for this thread - thank you!

I joined WW last January and did really well and lost almost two and a half stone by July. I have struggled hugely since then. Gaining and losing the same half stone. I gave up completely at the beginning of December and have eaten and drunk whatever I wanted since then. Dreading weighing in now this week.

I go to meetings and Tuesday is D-Day. It will be bad! I and eating the last of the crap today and starting back on plan from tomorrow.

As well as tracking points I will be avoiding sugary processed food too. It definitely leads to cravings for more.

Unfortunately I have a big night away with friends planned for Wednesday which is bad timing but I will use my 49 weekly points for that.

I would like to lose another 2 and a half stone by summer. We are off to California on July 4th and I want to not have to shop the plus size stuff while there!

Blimey Crunchie, I'm in awe of your running. I know that everyone can do it, but right now it seems like a huge effort for me. I'm aiming to try and walk (dragging dog and child) to the park every day and then get my bike out for the first time in years! Swimming is also something that I'm aiming to start up again.
I'm also doing it online, and via my iPhone/iPad. Makes life so much easier than going to a meeting. DH is away mid week a lot, so meetings round here are tricky to attend.

Just found out I'm preggers, and we were doing ww online before Christmas. We agreed that we would be guiltless for 2 weeks.

So, can I join your group?
Can I still do ww if preggers?

Before surprising news I was hoping to loose 3 st, maybe 4 at a push. What should I aim for now?

Good luck xx

Congratulations rosy Thanks
I don't know about being pg and doing WW sorry, but hopefully someone else will be along to advise.

Report
SallyBear · 06/01/2013 11:01

It says on their T&C that you can't do WW pg. but you may find that you lose weight while pg anyway. I always did.
Great news btw! When are you due?

AddictedtoCrunchies · 06/01/2013 11:03

It hink you should just try to follow the principles of WW (and all healthy eating) by eating plenty of lean protein and fruit and veg. But I wouldn't count points.

Thanks Sally. I can't say I 'enjoy' running but I like the feeling I get afterwards and the way it makes my bum look!

bigTillyMint · 06/01/2013 11:12

Right I've signed up!

Now the problem is sticking to tracking properly....

Congratulations rosy!

SallyBear · 06/01/2013 11:17

Rosie - Maybe try the Filling & Healthy plan as it makes it easier to follow and just point the dairy and carbs as your 49 weekly points

Can I join? I've been doing WW's on and off since last January and have gone from post baby weight of 13stone 8 to 11 stone (as of this morning) for the past 4 months I've been bouncing between 10.13-11.7 and would like to get to my target of 10 stone by Easter as we are going on holiday. I have my weigh in tomorrow morning so trying to be really good this evening and stay away from the chocolates :(.

I've put in a couple new rules for myself this year and as they are only small I hope they will be obtainable..

  1. Only one sweet treat per day (otherwise all of my weeklys will go on cake
  2. Drink 1.5lts of water per day.
  3. Do calf raises whilst waiting for the kettle to boil (much harder than it looks!)
Report
SallyBear · 06/01/2013 15:28

Calf raises you say??? That sounds like a good idea! I may well adopt that myself!Smile
