Anyone else doing slimming world?

Hi all, I joined slimmig world yesterday as I finally ready and motivated to get this weight off. Anyone else? Is there a support thread for those following slimming world? As I couldn't see one on here. If not anyone interested in helping to support each other here?

I am following the plan but not at the group. I've done it before and it works

Hi there

Yes I am back on SW again! Having to do it online as I can't get to meeting. There is a support thread I think but no harm in starting another one for the new year.

I have lost the same 6lbs, put a couple back on over Christmas. I want to loose another stone and a half. I want to get it off before we start trying for DC3 as I have found it much much harder this time, DD2 18months, than Idid with DD1.

How much are you hoping to loose?

Hi,

I joined SW in middle of November. It's a very healthy plan... well it would be if I can get my syns in control.

I need to lose at least 2 stones. How about you?

Hi there penguinBear I've also done it before and lost some weight but motivation waned so I stopped. Glad to hear it is working for you, how much do you want to lose?

Hello BillyBollyBrandy I want to lose 3 1/2 stone! my starting weight is 12st 5 1/2 and would like to get to 9 stone. I'm only 5ft 2 so need to be a lot slimmer. my mini target is to be under 11st for my sons 2nd birthday in mid march.

I'm following the green plan and going to meetings though this is difficult as i work shifts so can't make every thursday so some weeks I will be attending other groups further out on different days.

how many syns are you having? my consultant said we should start off having the full 15 syns then if/when weight loss slows down we should reduce them, finding it hard to have 15 syns as I'm so motivated right now if feels wrong to be eating chocolate!

I have 15 sins. I lost 4 stone about 10 years ago on SW and stuck to it until I had DD1. I have now put 2 of it back on, but in 10 years I don't think that's too bad! It's def the way to go long term I think as it's just a healthy eating plan really.

I am not drinking in January so that will help, it's not the sins in the alcohol that is the problem, more that I eat crap after I have had a drink. I'm going away with DH in Feb so want to have lost half a stone by then.

I want too! Was hoping to bite the bullet and show up Thursday. Can you just show up or do you have to ring? I have phone anxiety so would prefer to just show up.

I went to slimming world and lost nothing. I went to Weightwatchers and lost 3 stones. Just depends which slimming group is for you. Rosemary Conley is also very good if you like exercise.

No just show up Katy, and the slimming consultant will go through the plan with you

I started in April and have lost just over two stone. Reached my target just before Christmas. I found it easy to stick to and easy to follow. Seeing the Syn value of some of my favourite foods was a bit of an eye-opener and it's taught me that some of the things I thought were healthy snacks were really quite bad.

blondes slinks in Blush

hello everyone

i was on a sw thread this time last year and was good till june/july - then went on holiday and been a veeeeeeeeeeeery bad blonde since :(

need to kick start the blonde butt again

im the same as penguin i know what to do, so do at home, as 1) refuse to pay £5+ a week for someone to weigh me, but 2) i work weird shifts days/nights/evenings etc so wouldnt always be able to go to the same group and wi would be on different days and times so weight loss would always be different iyswim

so i do at home, weigh on a friday am at home , seems to work for me as then if i go out/have a takeaway etc/been bad with syns at weekend then extra good mon to thur

need to lose 2.5 stone so thats 35lbs 'gulps'

generally been a lb a week gal - slow and steady but boring and annoying

I also refuse to go to class as I find them so cringey and I'm not willing to pay £5 just to get weighed. The WW classes are so much more motivational. I can't stand going through everyones weight gain/loss. So I've bought the current mag and I'm going alone! Will weigh myself tomorrow morning and then weekly on a Tuesday.

I'm really crap at breakfast - any tips?

I have just under 3 stone to loose.

I'm doing SW too, been a member since July. Got my 2 st award just before Christmas, though I gained 4.5lb over Christmas. Got weigh-in tomorrow and not really looking forward to it, I know I've over-synned, but got to face it and move on!

I think I might have the most to lose so far though - at least 6st (my goal) but possibly 8st (drs request!) will just see once I get there!

I'm doing it too. Started in September and have lost 17.5 lbs. I have another 46 to go to get a bmi of 25, I think it will take me about 9 months. It is a very healthy plan and I like way it majors on home cooking not processed stuff. The group I go to isn't cringey but it takes ages to get through the what everyone's lost bit. I bout a couple of dresses for work in a sale today and was delighted to be buying a 16, rather than hoping that there were 20s in stock.

i also buy the mag - well have on subscription and delivered monthly

have tried some of their receipes out last year - rem the chicken pie was nice

im also on the fb sw group (free) Grin and if ever need to know anything then ask on there

but hopefully we will all be here to help each other :)

xbenidict - i either have cereal (b) and milk (a) and then chopped fruit

or if i want bread for lunch then have a bowl of fruit covered with mullier light or natural fatfree/low fat yog and sweetner

weekends when have time, i have bacon/eggs/beans and fruit

Hello everyone! Like Blondes, I have done this before. I know it works for me, but can't get to regular groups and don't really want to pay to be weighed either.

I'm going to weigh myself in the morning - I suspect it's a 2 1/2 stone job. If I could do it by mid-July, that would be brilliant. I know slow but steady is the way, no matter how impatient I may be!

Report
Bosgrove · 07/01/2013 21:55

I joined in June and got my 4 1/2 stone award tonight, so SW is working for me. For me I find that going to group helps, it was a bit cringy to start with but as I got to know the people I have got to learn lost of tips, like how to make syn free crisps in the microwave.

I do have a lot to lose, about another 4 stone to get me to target, so hopefully by next Christmas I will have got to the size that I want to be.

Report
NewFerry · 07/01/2013 22:06

Hi, I'm doing this at home too. I really dislike the SW sessions where you listen to everyone's week, tbh there always seems to be a few people in each group who just take over, and I end up feeling v cross, instead of motivated.

So I will save the £5 and buy myself a treat for each 5 lbs I lose.

Hi. I joined online before Christmas but really couldn't focus so am on the case now. I want to lose 2.5 stone but am going to focus on half stone intervals. I have had this today-

Porridge with sugar - 1 syn
Salad and chicken
Choc mousse -5
2X Baklava Blush - 8
Spaghetti bolognese - I have estimated 2 syns for oil.Made with quorn.
Hot choc - 2

Too many syns mostly eaten as snacks between meals. I have this terrible habit of coming from work famished and eating the cupboard of anything bad for me. Why oh why I do not know. I really have to work on that.

Great to hear about peoples successes. I need to do this as I have loads to motivate me this year. Not least being Maid of Honour for my friend in July!
