New Year Low Carb Bootcamp

1000 replies

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 29/12/2012 21:30

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas, and that Santa brought you everything that you deserved! Xmas Grin

By now, I'm guessing that many of us will be rather tired of chocolates and stodgy food. Mince pie anyone? Xmas Wink

So. The next low carb Bootcamp will be starting on 7 January. It will run for 10 weeks, which will take us to mid-March. The idea of Bootcamp is that we have an initial strict fortnight, which will see a significant amount of weight loss, followed by a more relaxed 8 weeks.

Overall, if you follow the rules, you can expect to lose anything up to 20lbs in this time period.

So who is in?

If you want to join us, add your name to the list and tell us what your aims/objectives are.

I will start ...

Me, grudginglyGrin. I need to cut out sugar, I'm insulin resistant due to PCOS. I now no longer have my ovaries as of last August, but still appear to wobble Hmm

I'm also full of fluid, I'm on hrt patches which I'm not sure are helping, but I'm not going to blame them. That's the easy way out.

I'm a biggish 14 and would happily settle for being a 12. I don't know how much I weigh but would guess well over 12 stone. I've always been around 9 and a 1/2 stone until I went on Citalopram and put on a couple of stone in a few months Shock.

I'd be happy with getting to 10 stone, I'm 5ft 5".

Hi I just came on here thinking I might try low carb again (despite carb flu -ouch!)

Please help persuade me.

Thing stopping me is I bf an egg and dairy allegic baby.

With this in mind, please can I have meal ideas? I struggled last time.

Also in the firs 2 weeks what is your cab 'limit' amount?

Can I join please. I want to be back to a size 10/12 by May. I'm currently 12/14 and think I need to lose 1st. Planning on starting back at pilates in Jan plus lots of walking.

Trouble is I can't seem to function without scoffing carbs at every meal so hope I can stick to this one.

I am in. I need my eating habits sorted. And now that I am in sight of my previous bootcamp target (2kg to go) would love to get down to 65kg. A total aimed loss of 7kg. Would be rather lovely. But honestly just want to feel better and be migraine free.

A stone in the first week!? Good grief Shock

Has anyone who has done low carb before notice if you lose excess fluid? It's causing me joint pain atm because it is pushing the bones in my pelvis out of the sockets.

What are the rules? I've never read about low carbing. What can I read online?

Signing up.
Low carb really suits me, I feel really well doing it (after the first few days anyway). Have loads to lose, and have decided not to set goals as this for me now needs to be a lifestyle choice, and I need to stop messing about.

No idea cocolepew but I started this way of eating in August and really notice a difference with my insulin resistance (because of PCOS) and feel a lot better.

I'm in. Want to lose a stone at least. That will cover my xmas gain plus getting to my original goal from previous bootcamp.

Hi, I'd love to join!

DH and I been low carbers since last Feb. We were relatively strict with ourselves to start with but in the last 3-4 months we've got into bad habits. Christmas, well, it's fair to say that a few roasties and the odd slice of toast managed to sneak through!

Keen to return to better ways!
