All new mummies welcome. Any exercise and/or weight loss programme acceptable, so long as it is healthy.

This is a thread dreamed up by Nov 12 mummies wanting to get fit and slinky again. Our resident fitness expert is the lovely horsey

My name is VQ and I have 4 stone to lose. I will tackle it in smaller amounts though. I am not yet ready to disclose my starting weight. I plan to commence slimming world on Monday.

Can I slip in and lurk? I was briefly on the nov 2012 threads. I have been advised to wait another while before starting any exercise but I can join in a bit.

I am wdg and I have 7 stone to lose, but half of that would be enough for now. My starting weight is too painful to write!

Of course you can wannabe how are you? There is no pressure to disclose weights. I plan to record weekly weight loss (or gain) and cumulative loss. I had a section 9 weeks ago, have a sore leg, am breastfeeding and sleep deprived, so I am not expecting miracles. My exercise will consist of walking miles and miles. Hopefully. I need to eat more fruit and veg too. I have always found it harder to lose weight whilst feeding. I am 43 and this is my last baby. I want a fit body again.

At my fittest I weighed 7 stone less than I do now, but I hardly ate and exercised to stupid levels. I do not have the time for that now, and it was not healthy.

DD2 was born 6weeks ago by ventouse delivery after I was induced. I had an episotomy. Im still not the same down there Blush and I have a sore back if I do too much. My joints get sore really easily too.

I intend to walk loads and go swimming. I want to do a dance class but not zumba so I will have to have a look around.

I still need to buy scales, but Im getting those at the weekend!

Catbag · 28/12/2012 09:33

I have no idea how much I weigh, but I will post once I have found some scales that tell the truth!
Went up to 12st 4lb at most pregnant with twins, had emcs, am exclusively breastfeeding and have a newly developed dodgy knee ( I think from sitting crosslegged on the sofa feeding babies). My babies are also limpets and will be accompanying me on whatever method of exercise is undertaken. I suspect I will be doing a lot of walking :/

Congratulations VQ! DD2 is teething. I kid you not! 6 weeks and bloody teething! We were just getting into a good pattern.

I am cutting out treats. Drinking more water and making sure I eat breakfast. I dont need to worry too much about portions as I never eat much in one go anyway.

Oh and I am currently 10.5 pounds lighter than my booking weight :)

I have lost 20 lb of my pregnancy weight gain. I need to lose another 11 lb to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight, however this have me a BMI on the high end of normal so I would like to lose 15-16 lb to get back into size 12 trousers (but probably not tops since I plan to breastfeed for a year if possible).

I don't know whether the breastfeeding will be a help or a hindrance. On one hand my calorie requirements are much higher but on the other my body will want to retain its ample fat reserves. I'm going to cut out snacks in the evening and walk the kids to school twice a day to start with.

I want to commit myselt to walking a certain amount each week. When dh goes back to work I want to work out a rythm to my time and put walking back in - before i got up the duff i was doing loads. My thighs rub together very uncomfortably - I hate it. It rules skirts out. I must buy myself some shorts that fit and just walk until they fall down!!!!

Hi all, figure this might help me to do better with Slimming World ~ 3 weigh ins and only 1 pound lost so far Blush. My weigh ins are Tuesdays. l am aiming to loose between 1 1/2 and 2 stone so l am a size 12~14. I know from previous experience if l loose any more l can?t sustain it.

Christmas day in the Catfamily household......

DH: I like that jumper on you, it looks really nice.
Me: Really? I was thinking that it made me look a bit fat.
DH:
Me: Oh hang on... It's my fat that makes me look fat, isn't it?

I am not that new a mum- DD is 5 months, but i still need to lose 10lbs. However, more critically, I need to tone up and regain my pre-baby fitness- at the moment i'm like a cheap chicken; all fat and skin. I also need to stop eating so much crap because when I stop breastfeeding I am going to balloon if I don't improve my diet. Plus my skin and hair look rough (and not in a sultry, Kate Moss type way)

I'm starting 7 January as on holiday and then my parents are here so realistically no point in starting before then.

Good to see a number of us already. Hopefully it will help us to stay motivated. I am a bit past looking 'smokin' GT and I would say you do anyway from the lovely FB pics. You are a natural beauty. cat Grin

Hi all, I'll join as a bit of a lurker for now. I got loads of chocolate for Christmas which there is no way I'm not eating. And I have my 6 week check on 7th jan so can't really do much exercise before that so will come back properly in a week or so. Good luck everyone.

Hi everyone, I'm going to join you all too. Before Christmas I had 10lbs to lose to get back to per-preggo weight. Not sure now though, too scared to weigh myself. I'm breast feeding so I'm hoping this will help me lose it quicker, the weight was falling off before Christmas. Seriously need to exercise but I'm only 3 weeks post c-section so can't really do any for another 3 weeks.

I'll mark my place, 1st Jan will be a big food shop then 3rd jan the skimming world group I used to attend before having DS3 resumes. I've ,out all my baby weight but still have some way to go to loose all my pre baby weight! I'm currently 11 stone and would like to be at least 2 stone lighter, DP will be joining me and he'll be also hitting the gym twice a week, I'll be doing whatever excessive I can with a baby in tow and very weak and stretchy joints.
