TIA

Calorie counting is your friend after a VLCD.

I am now 9 stone 4 after a VLCD and have maintained by calorie counting for over 6 weeks now - in fact, I continue to lose weight. It is crucial that you write down everything you eat and note the calories. WW may suit you better.... bear in mind that SW advocate 'free' food - there is no such thing as a free food and you will gain weight if you eat unlimited pasta and potatoes.

I like the SW principles but it is perhaps not great after a vlcd.... not to start with, unless you restrict the carbs. My advice is to calorie count until you are properly maintaining and then make the switch.

I'm 4 weeks into an 8 week programme on Cambridge. In 4 weeks I will start reintroducing food. I have been calorie counting for over a year using Myfitnesspal. I plan on switching to a 5:2 diet from here. As I will still have about 40lbs to go in 12 weeks.
I would recommend finding an app or programme to log food on now. so it is already a habit before you come off the vlcd. don't be afraid to weigh your food portion sizes are often distorted over time. I lost first stone by reevaluating those!.
You will also need to mentally prepare yourself for a much slower weight loss.
I lost 50lbs but it took me two years. the last year I've managed to only put back on 12lbs frustrating in one sense but its only 12lbs which I have lost already.
You may also want to consider what are your food triggers and how you will deal with them before they come up. much easier to plan in advance than damage control.
good luck
