Half a stone by Half Term? Anyone with me?!

I have been dieting on and off since Jan and have managed to lose 23lbs so far. I have got 7lbs to go and have set myself the taregt of doing it by half Term (26th October for us). I have done it so far by eating less, doing more exercise and upping my protein intake, but my enthusiasm is waning Grin. I look better than I did, and the last 7lbs is probably not going to make that much difference, so I am finding it hard to get motivated.

Yesterday I decided that I would commit to the following:

  1. Shredding (only Levels 1 and 2!) every day
  2. Swimming 3x week

3 1200 calories on MFP

for 5 weeks and hopefully that will get me there, or thereabouts!

Anyone else up for it?!

Hurrah! I thought I was the only one! Brilliant!

I have only done L3 of Shred once and was so bad at it that I decided it was doing me 'no favors' (as Jillian would say) so I now just alternate the other two levels....feel a bit of a cheat, but I do attempt to 'Natalie' it when I have the energy!

When shall we weigh in? Next Tuesday? I am 10st 8lbs today (10st is the target, so slight artist's licence with the 'half a stone' but I would certainly settle for 10st 1lb by half term!

Yes I shall weigh in on a Tuesday too, I know I shouldn't but it's hard to resist the scales everyday! As for level 3 I've not even watched itBlush
I am really struggling diet wise with this awful weather, dreaming of tea and biscuits but will resist! I go back to work after half term after year of maternity so would like a new work wardrobeGrin
Started at 14stone after pfb now down to 12.5 and ideally would like another stone off at the very least.

You are in fact me Grin I was exactly the same after pfb, and then got pregnant after 10 months so ended up right back where I started! Managed to get down to about 12 st 2lbs and then sort of gave up for about 2.5 years (literally, DD2 is abouty to turn 4 Blush but we have finally decided not to have any more, so I knew I had run out of excuses, and indeed knew I could afford some new clothes Grin so have found it relatively easy up until now.

Agree that the weather doesn't help at all - I feel entitled to treats when it is raining like this.

Anyway, I have got a couple of hours of work to do now, then will diligently Shred before bed - ah the glamour!

Wow well done, inspiration for me thenSmile how did you get down to 10 stone, if you don't mind me asking? I can only dream of that weight! Today I have double shredded, levels one and two then braved the rain for a 3 mile ish walk. Not too bad considering the weather.
Happy shredding! Btw jillian michaels has her own app which is similar to mfp. Downloaded it yesterday and can log the shred and works out cal burn more accurately than mfp. Haven't checked it out too much yet but seems niftySmile

Thank you! In terms of losinng weighgt after pfb (which was the orginal 14 down to 11.7lbs I basically was very disciplined with what I ate and swan 5 times / week and walked miles with the buggy. It was such a slog but I just knew I had to do it and it was worth it.

I was very disciplined through pregnancy no.2 - carried on swimming, was careful with what I ate etc and was about 13.5 stone when DD2 was born BUT she had colic and I literally ate to get me through so at her Christening at 6mths I was still in size 16 clothes and prob about 13 st. The swimming didn't work that time, as I couldnt get slots in the creche for 2 of them and was too exhausted to go in the morning, so I think I gradually lost about another stone through a combination of low carbing and gradually recovering from the baby phase, but I really lack discipline and LOVE food, which doesn't help.

At Christmas, I decided I had to focus, so I looked at what my slimmer friedns did, which was basically to eat a lot less food than I did. I started having black tea and coffee, which I find encourages me not to have a cake with it Grin and is a way of reminding myself that this is meant to be about a whole change in my attitude to food, not just a diet, or else I will just go right back to where I was before. That said, I went absolutely mad on holiday, and ate exactly what I wanted, it was lovely! But I did find that i was ready to get back on the wagon at the end of it!

Now I just need to get through the final push, which I think will be about being more disciplined with what I eat, as I have a tendency to be a bit slapdash when tired or busy!

Thanks for the Jillian Michaels app - i will go and find that as I agree it would be better to have a more accurate figure for Shredding!

I am you! Just had dd's christening and I really pushed myself for four weeks beforehand and now it's over I'm worried about not having a goal to keep focus. Like you I love food but this time I know it has to be done. I basically ate my way through pregnancy to point where people said I was biggest pregnant person they had ever seen ( not nice at the time!) I tried to diet a few months after dd was born but couldn't do it as breastfeeding all day and night made me starving! Now I only bf morning and night and feel able to do it properly. I have found mfp really great, my username is mrschristmas4 if you want encouragement over thereSmile

Well done! I'm down 5lb now 12 stone two which I am really pleased with as I felt I had been totally stuck at 12 and a half for weeks! Inch loss has been greater for me which I think is down to shredding.
I haven't used jillian michaels app, sticking with mfp, but did input my info and she said to take two rest days? Do you have a rest day?
