I knew I had put on wieght. But bloody hell I have reached 15 stone and now really need to loose it asap. I have signed up to mfp and intend to stick to that and exercise at least three times a week. Anyone want to join me in a monday wiegh in and motivation thread.
I find I am a picker and wil binge on crap. I need to get serious and healthy before I get any older and become nable to join in stuff with my kids.

Morning !!

I will join you - but for various reasons will be weighing in on a Wednesday.

Started two weeks ago - first week lost nothing - last week lost 5 pounds. Am hoping for another loss this week.
Have upped my exercise - walk mist days and swimming/ aqua aerobics twice a week.
Trying to cut out carbs.

I am thinking along the same lines lavender but since we moved house last month I cannot for the life of me find our scales anywhere. I did weigh about < whispers > 16 stone Shock but my last weigh in was two months ago now.

I am starting the food cut back and exercise thing anyway and I need to hunt out the scales today.

Im going back to WW tonight, i weigh about 16stone and i am 40 in around 18/12 so i really need to shift this weight........

Blush 18 stone 3lb Blush I'm the heaviest here and the heaviest I have ever been!!
Butter I'm the same if I have one I just can't stop but if I don't have them at all I find it easier, I gave up diet coke 8 months ago and haven't had one since so I think that is the way to go I am rubbish having things in moderation!! Blush
Well hopefully we will all have a great weight loss week!!

Hi everyone. Thanks all for joining me. Having others to share this with would be great. Typinginsecret - please tell me how you managed 5lbs in one week thats awesome! Whyme, I have been avoiding my scales for the last few months but forced myself ne them today - hence the shock horror today!
Buttercrumb I think WW is great and i have lost a lot of wieght in the past with them but I cant afford to join them this time so will be usng mfp instead.
Golden I think giving up diet coke is a great start. There is an enourmous amount of crap in coke. I have a weakness for it myself so will be giving it up too.

Lavender,

Iam not eating carbs , and either walking twice a day or walking and swimming . The first week I didn't lose an ounce and was very disheartened. I think for some reason I think it came off in all one week!

Golden, Iam trying to give up diet coke - I split up with my husband mast year , and diet coke was my drug of choice! Now down to drinking maybe once a week as a treat.

Butercrumb - I have done we in past and would still apply some of it to my healthy eating plan now.

Ooh, can I join in too? Haven't actually weighed myself in about a month, but the last time I did I was just under 14 stone. It's a horrible plateau for me, was 15 stone but lost one in about a month only to then be stuck forever ... planning to make a fresh start this week!

Agree with things in moderation being hard - I can't buy one of those tubs of ice-cream, I eat it all! And I'm notorious for scoffing entire tubs of pringles in one go without realising it Grin So for me it's pretty much cold turkey or nothing, at least for a few months.

Luckily for me, my DS has decided that our daily walks now need to be runs; he stops at the top of the road, does a little running on the spot thing then zooms off, leaving me having to run to keep up! Maybe he knows I need to lose weight ...

I'll weigh myself later and check back in.

Hello, can I join please? I have started low carb today. Think that's the way to go for me as calorie counting lasts about 4 days and then I eat something stupid like kfc and give up!
I am severly lacking in will power Grin
You ladies sound similar with the snacking and binge eating. I find if I am bored I just constantly graze on crap to give me something to do.
I am going to join the gym this week, which I'm a bit nervous about, as I have never set foot in one before. I'm a bit worried about making a twat of myself! Any tips would be great, to avoid Blush
How is everyone doing so far today? What have you got planned for dinner tonight?

Convert - you sound a bit like me with the gym I can't face it yet but I have started Zumba classes with a friend and it is great I was so so nervous the first time I went and nearly pulled out but once i got there I was too busy trying to concentrate on what to do and I think everyone else was too so no one really noticed what everyone else was doing!! Am sure the gym will be the same too goodluck!!
For dinner tonight I am going to have some salmon veg and a couple of new potatoes!!
How about you?

Thanks Golden, I'm planning on putting my ipod on full blast and ignoring what's going on around me!
Think I'm going for pork loin steaks cooked in garlic oil with mushrooms. I'm actually quite enjoying this low carb stuff!

What a bastard Typing (he might not be but it will make you feel better to think that!)
Are you cutting out all carbs or just pasta bread etc? Well done with losing 5lbs, thats brilliant Grin

GalaxyDefender · 03/09/2012 16:17

Aw Typing =( If anyone compares you to his new girlfriend then that's their problem tbh - you're clearly better off, as in my experience men who immediately go for a younger woman given half a chance tend to be bastards anyway.

Cutting out all carbs is soooooo hard. Particularly when your favourite foods include roast potatoes and toast. I tried it and couldn't hack it, now just eating less of it rather than cut out entirely.

Just weighed myself for the first time in 27 days - lost 6lbs! Dead chuffed, wasn't even really doing anything special apart from eating less. So my Monday weigh-in: 13 stone 6lbs.
Nearly not obese anymore! Grin

Well done Galaxy, 6 lbs is great. Just started my day with toast and marmite. This should be the only carbs I eat all day. Then going to work and doing a big food shop and going to buy lts of healthy stuff. Also going to fit in a zumba session on the x box.
Hopefully this will be the start of a new lifestyle!

I had a similar shock 6 weeks ago. I've lost 12lb in that time. Being motivated has really helped.

Hallo all! Having a good day today. Done lots of healthy shopping and just done 25 minutes of zumba. Five - I found WW brilliant but been so slack the last few years I have put it all back on. Groovie, 12lbs in six week is great, thats what I hope to achieve. Just going to walk to pick the kids up from school. It only a ten minute walk but every lttle bit helps :)

Morning all,
I have decided to what I call the up down diet. Basically alternate days I eat less than 600 calories and on the up days I eat whatever I want. So yesterday I had three cups of tea for breakfast, lunch was 3 breadsticks and a spoon of houmous, at tea time I scoffed 2 raw carrots and a banana. I also drank a whole bottle of diet coke with lemon which I am not sure was so good but I did enjoy it.
I also went to bed at 8pm to avoid snacking all evening.

Today I am not restricted so I am planning to have breakfast with a friend while our dcs run mad at the soft play.

The thing is I am so impressed with myself because for a long time I have been trying to diet and not even getting through the first day so to get this far is making me feel really chuffed. Feel like I can get myself back on track and lose some of this weight finally.

Really wish I could find the bathroom scales though!

The exercise doesn't start til Thursday when the youngest goes to school.
