Try low carbing. There's a thread run by BIWI and is very successful, lots of good support there too.

Just a thought Grin

joining
Currently lost almost 4st, gone from 18s being a bit tight to 16s being a bit loose and the odd 14 fitting (but still a 16 in most things).
Size 10 is a distant dream but i am working towards it. If I could be a s12 by Christmas I'd be very happy
As of today I am 12st 10

I'm currently scoffing all thats naughty left in my cupboards, not to be a greedy git but so theres no temptation in the morning....thats my excuse and i'm sticking to it...

StealthPolarBear you've lost 4 stone already by low carbs? Thats fantastic! I've had a bash at slimming world, had that my fitness pal app thingy, got the 30 day shred, tried doing it just by bmi, Rode my bike to work not attractive at all and now i've realised i need to get a grip and stop giving up so easily, Thought if i put it on here i'll have tho whole on MN to judge me when i'm being pants so i'll pull my socks up. Thats my theory anyway!

Thank you for the link RatherBeOnThe Piste I shall find my glasses and have a proper read when ds isnt bugging me every two seconds to put tinkerbell on!

no it was myfitnesspal and calorie counting. I don't do low carbs, just low calories :o

And I was 16st6 when I started, so 4lb to lose before the 4st mark - that WILL be in the first week of July and you can all tell me off if it's not

MilkshakeMaker · 24/06/2012 16:15

Right well thats me downloading the app again then!

I've decided I will not be taking my measurements in the morning, just keeping note of dress size and weight. I feel like I should have a good reason for this but i just dont want to know, Ignorance really is bliss!

Can I join? I'll post my honest weight on here I promise. I've never dieted before so I'm just going to stop chocolate (a big deal for me) and calorie count.

I already think I did the right thing by putting it on here. No excuses now. :)

Yup TheOneWithTheHair no going back now, thats why i wanted to put it on here too, its not as easy to give up on here like it is in RL. (though you would think it would be the other way round)

I'm waiting til the morning before i weigh myself (aparrently its less in the morning!!!!) And I'm only going to do it once a week so i dont get all dishearted seeing the natural fluxuations.Blush

Monday morning after the school run works for me too. (No one else in the house to see my shame as I have to do it on the wii).

I've been looking online today for a wii! A friend has that zumba so was thinking I could use that for exercise, I've had a exercise bike for almost a year and can count on one hand how many times i've been on it so thought i'd be more likely to actually do it. Maybe... Do you use yours for excercise? Is it worth it?

If you value your life Stealth you'll leave it in there!!! I'm aware of how pathetic I sound but it killed me! I did day 1. And about 5 mins of day 2 and left it at that!

Now I've said that I might actually have a bash at it again, if i'm going to lose weight I may as well sink my teeth into it, I should rename the thread 'do anything and a bit of everything to get there!

I've lost 2.5 stone on low carb and gone from size 14 to size 10. In about 5 mths.
It is the only way of eating that enables me to keep my weight down and I am a lot healthier now.
It's good to think about exercise too but bear in mind what you weigh is governed 80% by your diet and the rest by exercise.

TheOneWithTheHair · 24/06/2012 17:58

The theory is that I use it for exercise. Mostly I play Lego Harry Potter and Zelda. BlushGrin

I exercise in fits and starts tbh but we love it as a family.

Milkshake, I think if you're going to exercise then you're better off doing a DVD than wii. The Jillian Michaels ones are fab.

BIWI, you are so Supportive in your threads!! Have just skimmed the Link RatherBeOnThePiste provided and what a lovely bunch of people! If I'm honest it sounds rather complicated(or i'm dense) all PP and PV, Also googled a few 7 day low carb meal planners just to scope out what sort of things to eat and I could never eat that much meat!

I've just downloaded myfitnesspal again (thank god for free apps) and dug out the shread dvd, I dont think i'll be able to actually become a shreadhead, but it's certainly a killer workout so will try and do it 3-4 times a week as part of a exercise plan.

Oooerrr it looks like i've got some sort of plan to stick to, Thank you for not letting me whimp out on a wii instead of a proper exercise dvd (TheOneWithTheHair- I'm sure zelda must knacker you out! Grin)

Please can I join?

I have about 4st to lose. I have lost 4st before and put it all back on. I have been losing the same 1/2 st for the past 2 years. I have GOT to lose it and keep it off - the ole body is starting to hurt and break down and it is not helped by all this extra weight.

I am also willing to post weight and measurements tomorrow and am also willing to do whatever it takes to shift this weight...I just can't stand it anymore.

I have gym membership and a park next door. I also have a Wii to use. Will download myfitnesspal onto my phone too.

Right my Measurements are here:

Waist: 104 Now 100 (cm)
Hips: 110 Now 108
Bust: 104 Stayed Same Currently 36C before baby was 34D
Thighs: 64 Now 61
Arm 33 Stayed same.

Thats probably about 3 months-ish of Dieting.

Its better than getting bigger i know, but it is slightly disappointing. I was working a very long week up until end of may with a baby that didnt sleep and a 5am wake up call, so not very much time to go to the gym (excuses, excuses) but now i am doing 20 days at the gym for £12.00. I am going to go Everyday, and attempt 1000 Sit-up's. (pre-baby, i used to do 250 everyday without fail.

Can I join too please?

I've been at both ends of the spectrum. I'm 5'8 and have been 8.5 stone and 16.5 stone. When I was at my thinnest I was very fit and active but would starve myself and make myself sick regularly. When I was at my biggest I would eat until I felt sick and then keep on going Hmm

I have a much better handle on things now but am still on the bigger size of a 16. I would like to be a size ten as I think once I'm there it is a weight/size I can maintain.

I am feeling in the zone at the moment Grin and am on a kick start diet to lose a bit of weight quickly before I settle in to a healthy eating regime IYSWIM. I'm trying to only have liquids during the day, including a hot chocolate for lunch and then dinner as normal. I'm doing muscle strengthening exercises set y my physiotherapist as well and DP has said that in a week and a half he thinks I have lost weight.

Ill do another week of the liquid thing and then introduce things like low fat yoghurt for breakfast and veg (probably raw) for lunch and obviously home exercise in the mean time.

I will try and post on here every day if that's ok? I'll put what I have eaten and I will buy some scales soon.

Can I join you please? My size is 14 but I'd like to be size 10. Actually my size varies from 14 to 16 depending on style of the clothes. Size 10 would be ideal.
