How much sugar in VLCD shakes and soups

I can't find any info online about how much sugar is in shakes and soups of Cambridge Diet and LL.

Sugar really affects my skin, I'm quite sensitive to it, so I wouldn't mind doing low carb, but if I'm honest, I cheat and eat to excess. A VLCD should keep me on the straight and narrow as the only cheating would be an extra shake.

Can someone please let me know for the following:

Strawberry/ Chocolate shakes and Chicken/ Veg soups.

Thank you for your efforts!

It doesn't say on the individual shakes so I don't know. The bars have roughly 10g. I wouldn't have thought very much.

I've been doing Cambridge and I've lost 25lb in 6 weeks.

You could try ringing a consultant. The info should be on the boxes.

If you are already thinking you will cheat though, is your head in the right place to do it? It takes a massive commitment to get through the first few days.

Thanks DeepPurple. I'm very committed, but I'm up very early and eat at the following times and without the food, I'd be very ill, I think.

6.30 - breakfast
12 - lunch
5 - dinner
8 cheese and biscuits.

at 8pm, this is when I would have the extra shake/ soup. To go to bed not having eaten would be awful, or perhaps the ketones would keep hunger at bay.

When do you eat and how much water do you consume? Fab weight loss, btw!

You could plan to have 4 products or you could choose the sole source plus which is 3 products plus a 200 calorie meal. That would probably suit you better. I tend to have breakfast at 7.30, lunch 1pm and dinner at 7.30.
I drink around 3 litres of water a day, a litre of which has water flavouring in.
Ketosis really does keep the hunger away. After the first few days it's really easy.
Good luck!

Have you considered other VLCDs? I'm currently on slim and save. You either have 4 products a day or 3 and 100g protein such as chicken or fish. You can also have up to 200g veg from a selected list including broccoli and mushrooms. Cheaper too! Not sure of the exact nutritional information but it should all be on the website, and if not try livechat. It's an exciting day for all us S&Sers, there's a new meal flavour (macaroni cheese) how sad! I'm on week 7 and have lost 30lb so far! Also there is Exante but I've never tried it.

Thanks guys. I don't care which VLCD programme I do as think they all have the same manufacturer. I have bought some samples from Protikee Diet and they're not too bad, so I think I would be able to stick to it.

Mmm... macaroni cheese!

How do you manage to drink so much water - .5 litres and hour or 1 litre taken morning, afternoon and evening?

I drink waaay too much, I have to curb it in. I sometimes get through 8-9l, not too good! I have water, I use a water flavouring once a day, I use flavoured water from supermarkets (has to be without citric acid, only a few makes and flavours. Look for malic acid, citric acid affects ketosis). I also have Coke Zero as it's the only fizzy drink without citric acid- well there is Asda own brand diet coke, and Dr Pepper Zero but I don't like them. Not official at all but won't affect ketosis so people do use them.

8/9 litres - wow! you must be on the loo all day!

How do you find the time to drink it? Do you have a bottle with you all the time?

What flavoured water do you buy? Looked in Tesco this morning and they all have citric acid in them.

ANy tips and handy hints would be appreciated - you are clearly doing very well on it.

Haha yes, in the loo a lot! I'm a nanny so I work mainly in the home, or go to playgroups etc I always hve a full glass of water near me!

flavoured water- now, this is something I've seen recommended on minilmins by people on different VLCDs so well, it's up to you really. I can't say this is 100% allowed at all!

Tesco own brand strawberry,
Perfectly Clear apple still
Sainsbury's apple and blackberry
Iceland Trederwen Essence apple (cheapest and nicest but the only one with aspartame)

And thats it! Not a lot of choice but can pep up the diet, really. For me it's about the goal, getting there, but it needent be too unpleasent getting there. I see on Lipotrim forums that the people veiw it as medicine to gulp down, just to exist, I can't do that. I really look forward to my meals! I love most of the products. So having flavoured water, coke zero, cinnamon in my porridge and dried herbs in my cottage pie really helps!

Scarf - you should be careful not to drink too much! Not to scare you but there are people that have died from drinking too much water. Usually athletes who drink water too quickly to rehydrate. it can dilute the electro-something balance and affect your brain somehow. I'll google it just a sec...
