I am trying to do EE (I did say trying right?) anyhoo, made a lovely lasagna last night, used passata, lean mince and dolmio lasagna sauce, nothing wrong with that right, how wrong was I. Could not believe the syns when I checked in the white sauce (after I had wolfed it down and accidentally used 2 jars Blush). How should I have made it so it was SW friendly?

Also please tell me, what mistakes you have made? So A) I feel better and B) I don't do the same Grin

Don't worry - it's such a lot to learn when you're starting off. I'm sure it won't make that much difference to your weightloss over the course of a week.

I haven't done slimming world for over a year (but previously had done it on and off for a long time), but generally I found that anything in a jar will be higher in syns than something you've made from scratch yourself.

I found this discussion on lasagne and some tips how to make the white sauce.

There's lots of recipes on the SW site too: here.

I got this off the SW website. If you're not signed up you may not be able to look at it. Basically it says use 500g fat free yoghurt mixed with 2 eggs in place of the white sauce, and a sprinkling of parmesan on top. The recipe also uses lots of extra veg.

I've only been on it a week (1st weigh in today) and am trying to be really scrupulous so no mistakes yet I think! Good luck :)

Thanks quornsausages and debka. I will check out the links. Jars are now forbidden in this house Grin.

debka, good luck on weigh in, let us know how you get on.

Oh Wow debka, that's an amazing loss. Tell me, tell me, what did you eat Grin.
I have vowed not to go near the scales, for a while anyway. I am moving house shortly and will join the SW group near the new house when we are settled in.
I am pleased to shout and scream from the rooftops though, that I got in a smaller size jeans this morning (yipppeeee).

Just tried a cheese pasta mugshot for lunch, only 2 syns, really yummy and quite filling. I have tried the noodles one also which are lush.

Love this diet Grin

Well done on your smaller jeans :)

I have a cooked breakfast every day and try and make all food in the day Free. Had 2 packets of Batchelors low fat supernoodles (Free) and a salad for lunch today.

Debka, that's awesome. Fat free yoghurt and 2 eggs - I usually have that in the house... healthy lasagne coming up! I assume you mix the yoghurt and eggs together and pour it on raw?

Yes I think so. Haven't tried it myself but please let me know what it's like, DH is a lasagne addict.

i gained 1.5 lbs this week-so gutted, then discovered that the flora spray oil is not free (i usually buy the fry light but this was substituted in the shopping delivery) that's the only thing i did wrong, I was gutted but having a good week this week (bought some fry light) and hoping to lose what I gained last week and get back on track.

other mistakes I have made-didn't realise not all mullerlites are free, the cheescake flavours are 1 syn, rhubarb is half a syn, banana custard is 1 syn. the mango and the peach ones are half a syn. I also didn't know you can make syn free soups with veg and stock. great for filling up on between meals.

Flora cuisine is not free either - I made that mistake!!

Does anyone know of any syn free sausages?
