Hello:)

I got back from our family holiday last week, uploaded our photo's and i had the shock of my life, what has happened to me! My DD got a bit snap happy with the camera and boy i could have cried:(

So i have decided to start the Dukan diet, been shopping, so all prepared (i think) got my target etc, but i am looking for any advice from people who have already done it, did you struggle, find it easy and have you reached your target? Any recipes? Anything really, i suppose i need a bit of motivation, as i have no will power and a huge chocoholic!!

My target weight lose, through the Dukan site is -34lbs, huge amount!

Thank you

Moolie, sorry no advice but I am starting in the next two days (as soon as can get to shops).

I have 35 pounds of pie, pizza, cream cake baby weight to loose and I have never in my life had this much weight to loose its so daunting :(

plantpotty, thanks for responding to me.

You are right, to lose so much weight is daunting, i feel to lose 34lbs is impossible. I am heavier now than i was during both my pregnanciesBlush but it can't go on.
I have googled recipes already for the cruise stage, i have to attack for 7 days! Do you know how long you have to attack for?

I started today, poached eggs and bacon for breakfast, ham and a yoghurt for lunch and yes i am still peckish:)

Well we both have the same amount to lose, so maybe we could encourage, prompt each other along:)

I have 61 pounds to lose - even worse!

I'm on day 12 and have lost about 9 pounds. I had to do 6 days of attack, and now I do 2 days of protein + veg and 2 of pure protein. Days 1-3 you're recommended to eat a lot, as it's really hard to cut out the other food groups. But by day 4, you really should stop being hungry.

I'm going to do this until I've lost a stone, then switch to weight watchers with two days of pure protein per week to give it a boost. For me, Dukan isn't going to be sustainable long term - I'm not due to hit target until the end of March!

Good luck, btw!

Hey Im on second day of attack with around 30 pounds to loose!
I have done dukan before with massive success but slowly slowly gone back to old carby ways!

Let's support each other and get these pounds off

My meals today are

B scrambled egg

L chicken breast x 4

D omelette

Snacking on coffee, chicken, ham, tuna steak, water water water

What are you guys doing?

Hello:)

dearprudence, wow, that is great loss so far, well done. You are right on having to eat lots, i am so hungry, quite soon after eating, i am not a massive protein eater, love my carbs, so i think i am going to find it hard, got the shakes today and i am grumpy! I need sugar!

Fairyloo, how are you doing? 4 x chicken breasts, love it!

B 2 boiled eggs

L tin of mackeral and fat tree yogurt

D bacon omelette

Not enough snacking for me, bit of ham, lots of water and tea (i need my tea).

Going back to the supermarket after the school run, need more meat and going to get some Quark? Anyone tried that yet? What about mullar fruit fat free yogurts, can we have them?

When are you worst at eating, mine is evenings, when the DD's are asleep, Partner works late's, so i start raiding the cupboards, i think i will have to start having very early nights or take up knitting:)

Hello everyone :)

Right back from the shops with a truck load of meat - DH is gonna think all his Christmasses have come at once!

Bit confused as to where I get the number of days of attack from. I bought the recipie book and the science bit is not very detailed - I was expecting some kind of chart?

Moolie as I have the same to loose as you do I do 7 days? Would be great to have someone to track with especially as we have the same to loose. Im on maternity leave at the moment (DD 6 mths) and my goal is to be at my works Christmas do in an LBD and not a tent!

No horrible side effects yet :)

I've GOT to do this, I have no clothes that fit and refuse to buy the size I am, this HAS to stop. Lets do this Grin

moolie I manage the evenings with my one cheat. I have a Cadbury Highlights hot chocolate every night after DS is in bed and I sit down. I also have some Total 0% greek yoghurt with my bran mixed in (and a load of sweetener). I don't feel tempted to snack on anything else then.

planetpotty I was a bit Hmm that the book didn't include any kind of calculator for how long you stay on each phase. But you can do this for free on the Dukan website. I had to do 6 days.

dearprudence will get myself over to the Dukan website today thanks :)

Had the chicken curry for tea last night was lovely and DH really liked it.

Does everyone drink diet coke or do you have to be wary of the aspartame like on the Atkins?

Day 2 = So far, so good.

Weight this morning = 12 st Loss so far = 0lb

I got my details from the dukan website, I have just ordered the recipe book, so no excuse to give up! My DP has hidden the scales, he knows what I am like, weighing every 5 mins, so not to be seen now until Saturday, so hopefully have a nice surprise. Not feeling to bad today, not feeling so bloated. I am looking forward to my dinner tonight, steak and poached eggs! Yummy:) I don't know about the coke planetpotty, I have been having tea and water. Did not manage to get any quark either, any substitutes? I am writing this via my phone, so sorry for any mistakes! Also I was in bed last night at 9, so hungary, the treat sounds good to me, have to get some of that. Speak soon

You can do it. I have lost 37 lbs in 5 and a half months. You will be amazed by how much your appetite shrinks once you stop eating carbs.

Fluffy thanks for the motivation :)

Yuuuuummmmmmmm!! Just had the garlic tiger prawns for lunch VERY nice.

Garlic (im using very lazy garlic as I have enough to do!)
Yoghurt

I cooked the prawns in some oil and garlic then put garlic in with the yogurt and poured over.

Still upright not keeled over yet Grin

What the buggery bollocks is oat bran? all I can find is porridge oats Hmm

That's brilliant fluffy, great motivation. Planetpotty that's sounds lovely with the prawns, I am not really creative with food, so I see me pinching a few ideas from you already! I got my oatbran from the health food shop, sorry but forgot what they are called!

Moolie brill will get myself to the health food shop for the bran :)

Did my attack day calculation via the website and it said attack for 5 days and if I follow the diet I should be 9st by Feb :) not sure Ill last that long but its good as I could visualise it with the graphic that you get.

Are we allowed mullar lights?

Report
dearprudence · 20/09/2011 21:29

I got oat bran in tesco, I think. In the aisle with the dried chickpeas and lentils and stuff.

I've started to get a sore throat the last few days and am starting to think I'm not getting enough vitamins. I think I'm going to switch to having vegetables every day and see how that goes for a week. I've also tracked calories, just out of interest, and I'm having about 1,000 a day (sometimes less).

Amazing result fluffy!

Hello all :)

Just had

Muller light toffee
bran mixed in
cinamon mixed in
Whacked in the microwave and hey presto was mmmmmmmmmm Grin

Had a look around the net and on one of the forums someone stated according to Mr Dukan Mullar lights toffee and vanilla are unlimited but fruit only 2 x perday. How they knew this I have no idea Hmm I want a hot line to Mr D! Better still he can come and move in for a month or two!

Please keep saying what youre all eating as I think DH is going to start thinking I have a vampire phobia!!

re: the unlimited yoghurt, firstly muller light do contain added sugar and secondly even with natural plain yoghurt I lost weight better when limiting dairy to around 300g a day. Yes eat them as treats, but don't see them as being unlimited.

HighHeidYin · 21/09/2011 16:07

As forever says, watch your dairy intake. I too stall when I have the maximum allowance of dairy (1 litre).

And muller's were ok once upon a time apparently, but for some mad reason they decided to add sugar, so avoid.

Be a bit wary of the advice floating around the forums regarding 'tolerated' items... what is tolerated by one person won't be by another and what is allowed one week will be banned the next. I tend to stick absolutely to what is in the book, and avoid adding any extras. Tolerated items are good if you are struggling or desperately in need of a bit of variety, but try to do without them for the majority of the time. The scales will thank you.

Noticed too that some are eating ham and bacon, which should also be avoided on Dukan due to the fat and salt content. Prepacked ham in particular contains lots of additives, including sugar.

Wishing you all well on the diet - it really does work!

muller's?? How did that rogue apostrophe sneak in?

It's not even a tolerated!

planetpotty · 21/09/2011 18:14

Oh bloody hell Hmm sorry for the crap advide Blush seemed a bit too good to be true :) thanks soo much for the advice will reign it in and have the mullers when desperate.

I dont find the book that easy to follow but will stick to it like you say for the sake of the scales :)

Well my dream toffee pudding has been shattered:( so I will stick with good old natural yogurt! On a good note my mackeral was delicious, I was worried that it was soaked in oil but it was just chopped chilli's on top:) hoping my recipe book comes tomorrow!

Sorry, didn't mean to be such a wet blanket! Blush

Remember you can flavour the natural yogurt. Have been making my own yogurt in the slow cooker. Is absolutely delicious with sugar free jelly granules sprinkled in. Orange is my current favourite! Drizzled over warm muffins is just bliss!

Yay 2 lb lost :) know its early days but at least its going in the right direction and on target of what the website said of 4lb loss over the 5 days of attack.

I had natural yogurt, with some vanilla essence and cinamon Hmm nowhere near as nice as the very naughty mullar I had but was still good (and quick) for breakfast.

Prawns AGAIN for lunch but hey ho not bored of them yet and again very quick and easy to make. Have dropped the oil as the book says its absolutely forbided - confusing as then some of the attack recipies have oil in Hmm but they are fine without it so no drama leaving it out.

I made the Dukan cookies - Oven roasted bath sponge anyone? Not a fan BUT they do have a cakey texture so good if craving the texture of cakes.

Feel absoultely fine :) lots of energy!

Chicken kebabs with some spices and herbs on and an omlette for tea tonight.
