Gastric Bypass
(10 Posts)Hello, been thinking about having a gastric bypass so much lately and think im going to have it done privately.
I just wanted to know if there's anyone out there that has had this op or knows of anyone having it in the UK......... It would be great to hear your stories please.
Thanks Gelflin x
I have a couple of friends who have had it done, but they dont post on here sadly. One has had great success, the other 2 have had a lot of problems.
Howtolookgood, could you tell me more about the other two friends who have had problems please?
One has had serious stomach problems since the op and is ill all the time I can send you a link to a weight loss surgery forum where you will get lots more info.
yes pls, that would be great tnx
I know 3 people who have had bariatric surgery. The one with a gastric band is doing well so far but it is still relatively early days.
The 2 gastric bypasses not so good. One has lost a vast amount of weight but now has so much loose skin she says she feels worse than ever before as there is no funding for further surgery and she cannot afford it herself. The other has suffered a lot from "dumping" and nutritional deficiencies which led to her hair and nails falling out.
It may not be what you want to hear but I would sooner stay fat!
Thanks for all the advise guys, after reshearching the bypass and band ive decided to just get myself a personal trainer, join a gym and give it everything ive got. Thanks again )
In that case I recommend myfitnesspal - great free online tool for recording everything you eat. Personal trainer a very good idea because too easy when dieting to lose muscle mass as well as fat. Goodluck!
Good for you
oooh thanks foreverondiet, sounds good. And thank you Howtolookgoodglaikit )
