Any gym bunnies fancy suggesting a gym routine for me?

I newly have access to a gym for 3 times a week, for about 1.5hrs at a time.

I've only just started so I've been using the treadmill as I don't mind running and it seems to be the best calorie burner at about 500cals per session.

My real problem areas though are my super-wobbly backside and thighs, and I have terrible cellulite - so ideally I'd love to find out which machines/weights would be best to target these areas.

I've tried googling but haven't come up with much, so I thought I'd see if there were any experts on here!

Any suggestions of how to best use my time would be much appreciated.

This is great, thanks so much.

I'd been running for about 40mins but at 5.5 or 6.5 at the most, so not sure if I'll be able to do 7 mins at 9??!!! Will give it a go though....

So you don't think any of the actual weight machines are worth trying out?

Looking forward to doing something new tomorrow!

If you are really keen, Mark Lauren has various routines on his website but probably not for a beginner. However you could use the concept... my personal trainer started me doing an action 15 times, then resting, then 15 times, rest, 15 times. Then move on to something different. Kettlebells are great, hard work though but great. Get some instruction from the gym instructors if you can, otherwise read sites like Bodybuilding: Kettlebells to get an idea of what it is you are suppose to be doing.

What do you have access to? I find doing classes are good... I did bodyconditioning/sculpt earlier this evening which helps tone a lot of the body.

If you have TRX/Suspension then that can be great - better than the machines according to instructors I've talked with. It uses your own body weight.

If you're going to do kettlebells, ask one of the gym staff to give you a demo and check your posture...it's really easy to hurt yourself with them if you're technique isn't right.

Thanks to all of you, maybe I'll ask about kettle bells, haven't a clue about them so better not start swinging them about willy-nilly Grin

Will go tomorrow & try the routine you suggested ShineOn - and I'll definitely ask the PTs about weight programmes.

Thanks again Smile
