I'm sat here, sucking a mint humbag (unexpected leftover from last christmas and only a couple of months past best-before-by date), thinking I really should lose a stone and a half before the end of November and I hit the big 4oh.

Weight has crept up over the last two years - I lost a bit after my second and last dc but has piled on steadily since then.

I'll be trying to reduce calories, eat more healthily and move more.

Anyone else want to join me?

height 5.2
weight 10.4 stone
goal 9 stone

Me! height 5'3", weigh ~ 60kg and i want to lose (ambitiously) about 5kgs? Weight is mainly around the middle which is the issue (as my bmi is ok), just want to be trim and get rid of the spare tyres.

i'm not doing any specific diet, just trying to live a healthier and more active lifestyle. it's harder to cut out certain food groups and live like that for the rest of my life.

good luck and see how we get on!

Hi rlhlw,

so glad to have company!
we sound similar as I carry my weight round my middle - just weigh a few more kilos than you (at least at the moment - competitive emoticon Grin)

been pretty good this afternoon so far, chicken salad with a couple of new potatoes and a small portion of rhubarb crumble. Not much exercise -apart from hoovering and running up and downstairs tidying up toys.

agree that for me cutting out food groups isn't going to work with my life or the family.

Well done, I have been munching all week! Need to buckle up and hopefully won't have any excuse not to go to the gym tomorrow morning!

Your not exactly overweight. I'm 5'3" and was once 9st when I went on a special diet but its not realistic.

For me to loose this weight I need 2 stone really I need to take my portion size to tiny, cut carbs, eat earlier and exercise more.

Looking at some of the stuff on the web it could take 6 months plus to see the benefits.

I know what you mean about life and family. My OH works long hours and most days so I cant pop to the gym. I also love good food (no crap for me) but my portion sizes dont reflect my calorie burning.

Have you looked at the shred? They all rave about it. I have the DVD but never get around to it.

35 in mid October and I would like to be back at my pre preg weight.

5 ft 6
Currently 9 10
Want to be 9

Trying to kill 7 lbs in 3 weeks though as I've a holiday in the middle. Oh, and DS is ebf. Am I aiming for too much???

Today started with

B Scrambled egg and smoked salmon
L fruit and yog
D meatballs with tomato, peppers and mushrooms. No pasta, sniff.

Had a few pieces of chicken to snack on and a skinny decaf cappuccino. Don't want to eat too little and mess with milk supply but didn't feel hungry so scared I'm eating too much.

Only had DS today, tomorrow will be fun with DD too ... The toddler baby tag team of terror!

Sorry not to post for so long. I'm just back from a week's holiday where i drunk two much wine ad ate crisps and chocolate.

Today I've been better - smaller portions and v little crap. salivating at the sound of pinkschmoo's food. I was starving all the time when I was breastfeeding so well done on your self control.

Bacon - I'm not a dvd exercise sort of person (not sure exactly what am dvd exercise sort of person is just know its not for me!!). You are sweet to say I'm not that much overweight but I'm an apple and carry all my weight on my tummy, back, boobs and chin(s). My legs are quite slim tho!

I'm in. 40 mid November and had the same idea.

I'm 5 foot 4, 61.5kg (lightest I've been in ages - 4 babies and definitely the last baby youngest is 18 months). I'd love to get to probably a totally unrealistic weight since I haven't been that weight since my 20's 57kgs.

I'm eating healthy and watching my portions, walking fast "sans dc" with my ipod most days (just the head space is helpful!). Still breastfeeding a toddler with zero chance of stopping any time in the next couple of years. I've decided to see the all night feeding atm as extra exercise. Wink

Faddy doesn't work for me at all, just want to be normal and sustainable (and fit and fab at 40) Smile
