I need to lose weight and 8lbs in four weeks is doable (I've done it before) but not crazy starvation-diet reckless. Anyone want to join me?

custardismyhamster Mon 01-Aug-11 12:08:36

Me me me!

Any particular diet you're doing? I've lost really well before on weight watchers but got bored, stopped and piled it all back on (and more) so today I have started slimming world.

This morning I was 13st 1 1/4lb (argh) and 8lbs in 4 weeks sounds brilliant!

Custard, yippee!

Last year I lost a stone and half, didn't get to goal weight but have now put a bit back on. I calorie count and make sure I eat less than 1600 calories a day and drink 2.5 litres of water.

Special K for Breakfast, 400 cal lunch, plenty fruit. On track so far, just 29.5 days to go...

custardismyhamster Mon 01-Aug-11 23:25:30

I've been on track 100% today which is brilliant, especially given I'm having a lot of problems at work (to the point im not sleeping well and crying all the time) all I want is a massive bag of crisps but im doing welll

JarethTheGoblinKing Mon 01-Aug-11 23:31:15

I've done it before, so I should be able to...

Not able to eat eggs anymore though so Atkins is out confused and low-cal sends me into low blood sugar hell.

I could really use a kick start. I lost around 10lbs during June but I've lost my way a bit. I was using foodfocus.co.uk and shredding. I find it really tough when I'm tired so i'm at the mercy of BFing DD to an extent. I'd like to try and stick to a thread to keep me on track smile

Custard, are you the 'custard' who did the low carb diet?

Sorry

ShoutyBag Mon 01-Aug-11 23:43:29

Custard, are you the 'custard' who did the low carb diet?

Sorry am an oldie but reg namechanger.

JarethTheGoblinKing Tue 02-Aug-11 00:51:56

Nah, that's custardo (currently sporting a mighty nonsmoker name )

GreenTeapot Tue 02-Aug-11 08:39:26

Ok, I've had some sleep and now to weigh myself and have a shower. I am so ready to wave goodbye to 8lbs!

custardismyhamster Tue 02-Aug-11 13:02:13

Yes, I'm not Custardo, just had this name when I joined MN (as my hamster IS called Custard) and too unimaginative to namechange.

Weighed myself this morning blush I know we shouldn't weigh daily but I am 3/4 of a pound lighter, bet thats drinking loads of water yesterday. Happy happy and sticking to plan today too, sticking to the plan is normally my downfall

custardismyhamster Tue 02-Aug-11 13:02:51

And Jareth, I shall be joining you with the Wii fit

GreenTeapot Tue 02-Aug-11 14:50:29

Might buy some batteries for the Wii Fit this afternoon. Just have to get past the cake dept first grin

LemonDifficult Tue 02-Aug-11 16:30:24

Hello, everyone, how's the day going? Things seem to be moving along OK here, I was able to offer DCs Jamaican Ginger Cake without eating any.

I lost a lb overnight too - probably because I peed out my body weight yesterday (or it felt like it). I'm also in the utter stress zone at the moment (court battle, urgh) and have been eating and drinking loads, to the point where my clothes aren't zipping and - worse - bra is overflowing. Eck. Hence, diet.

mrsnesbit Tue 02-Aug-11 16:36:42

Can i join you all please????

Im a heffer.2.5 stone overweight.

So today i went for a run, and have tried to be good.

Im going to do it for a month...4 weeks. Just want to be comfy in my clothes and not have to go out and buy size 18 clothes.

Ive gotta take control and NOW.
So will check in each day if i get the chance to got the laptop.

Let battle commence.....grin

LemonDifficult Tue 02-Aug-11 16:44:35

I definitely reckon breaking it into 4 week chunks helps.

Is everyone weighing themselves every day, or are most of you doing it weekly?

bananamam Wed 03-Aug-11 17:11:39

I'd like to join!! After loosing 4 stone I am stuck at 9.11! No matter what I do I cannot shift it! Calories between 1200-1400, I did Dylan to loose most of it and can maintain this weight eating carbs. Wondering if this is stopping me? And should I cut them out again? But I love them!!

Want to get to 9 ish stone!!

bananamam Wed 03-Aug-11 17:12:17

Dukan. Not Dylan.....blooming ipad

AncientsOfMuMu Wed 03-Aug-11 17:22:28

Oooh, can I join too?

I would like to lose 8lbs in not quite 4 weeks as we are going away on 29th August. I would be slightly less scary in a swimsuit if I had lost some weight by then.

<Wanders off to dig out the Wii fit>

butterflyexperience Wed 03-Aug-11 17:30:03

Can I join?
I would love to lose 8 lbs would take me to target weight!

I currently mfp, eat between 1200-1300 cals and run 3 times a week.

I'm thinking of doing a 7 day juice diet...
Any other tips?

custardismyhamster Wed 03-Aug-11 17:47:32

I'm weighing myself daily LemonDifficult but only counting the weekly weigh in iyswim-I know we can fluctuate but as long as my weight is the same or less every morning I'm very happy.

Today's been a bit of a bad day-went to a meeting and missed train so got there 5 mins late rather than an hour early, meaning no time to go get a planned in breakfast. So I had two biscuits in the meeting. Since I got home though I've stuck to plan and not had tea yet. I hope that if I have no treats today I'll be ok with those biscuits (will use them as syns) but not having breakfast isn't a good plan I know.

bananamam Wed 03-Aug-11 18:38:08

Butterflyexperience I use myfitnesspal too! Just started cycling 5k a day as I can't actutally eat any less!..I tend to weigh daily with a view to Sunday weighing being the day I pay note too

bananamam Thu 04-Aug-11 07:28:28

GreenTeapot Thu 04-Aug-11 07:57:18
