Summer holidays weight loss boot camp

I'm determined to lose weight over the summer holidays and not put it on! It'll be great if I could drop the kids off in September about a stone lighter.

I've decided to try a diet which is low in carbs at meal times and snack on fruit only. I'll do half an hr exercise every day. Either davina dvd or gym. My treats will be things like an ice lolly on days out.

Come, join in Smile

Starting weight 11st exactly

I'm in - a stone would be great. That would get me to my target weight. Starting now - with a moderate breakfast!

I'm in Grin. 20 minute cardio workout this morning, planning more later. 10st 6lbs, a stone lighter than this time last year.

Today; so far so good.

Shall we do a regular weigh-in/measurement-in? I'm metric and would like to lose 5kgs. That is just under a stone I think.

I have been struggling with this last bit of weight and need a great big kick up the bum.

I'm on holiday for two weeks, in two weeks, so god knows what will happen then....but back for the last two weeks of the hols. If the weather stays this gloomy at least I won't be tempted by icecreams ;-)

I think a regular weigh in is a good idea. I do it anyway on a Saturday morning but whatever day suite you is fine.

So far so good today.

I was looking at Zoe Harcombe's diet. Have you seen it?
It looks good. I'll try to do a link thing below.

Shiney believe it or not but it was reading some of your posts that inspired me to do this. You seemed to be taking a really hard core boot camp approach and I was impressed with the amount you lost. Well done you Smile

Is that all you'll have or do you have another meal coming?

I like the idea of fruit and yoghurt for breakfast but I don't want to cook lunch.
Any ideas?

I didn't realise you had many threads about unsuitable men except one about the penguin guy? That was you wasn't it? Very amusing Grin

Day done. just going to tuck into a big cuppa now Brew

I'm feeling very motivated now, bring on the healthy eating and moving my butt!

Tempted as I am to do a "diet" like the Zoe one, or Dukan or whatever I won't because I tend to go a bit OCD for a bit with them and then binge cause I am so bloody hungry. Still breastfeeding a hulk of a toddler so get hungry unless I behave sensibly. Smile

Another day - may have over done it at dinner but it was so lovely.

Yummy sounding no cook lunches Shineon. I like sardines on toast (low cook) or green salad with a small tin of tuna on top or a very quick cook egg omelette with a sachet of that tuna with lemon pepper dressing stuff in it. V quick, v tasty. And a sweet treat of greek yoghurt with a dash of raspberry jam and chopped nuts on top. Oh yeah, a wrap filled with hummus, cucumber, tomato and a drizzle of oil and balsamic or the same fillings with couscous instead of the hummus. Actually I love couscous.

Sorry, just jumbled that lot together - I am hurriedly typing... kids to get to bed. Looking forward to my cup of tea.

Another day tomorrow.

Shineon you can do it! Hang in there! What is wrong with your leg? I have very dodgy knees which I think is the beginnings of our family history of arthritis, I tried jogging to see if they'd cope but they really didn't so I am resigned to low impact things.

I like the sound of your lunch yesterday, I've got some ryvita. Might try that. And yes - DON'T BUY THE STUFF FOR THE KIDS! it is just tooooo tempting. We are just down to rice cakes and cheesy oatcakes.

New day and I've tidied the house so am feeling GREAT! I might be deflated if the cleaner I've organised to actually clean the house now you can see the floor doesn't show up because I really don't fancy doing all the cleaning now...I'll have to think of it as exercise I guess.

Weather is shite though isn't it? I do much better with a sunny day.

I don't normally tell people that I am trying to lose weight but I told a good friend that I am going to try to lose a stone this holidays. God, now I have to do this!

Do you tell?

shineon your food sounds more appealing than mine. I shall have to go shopping.

Well the cleaner didn't show. So much for me trying to get sorted. So I vaccumed downstairs and mopped the kitchen vigorously and cleaned the loo. Can't face any more. Tidying took it out of me and I'm sick of cleaning already. Trying to get the kids playing outside as much of possible. I've told them they need to get more vitamin D to store up for the winter.

I think I'll make a cup of tea.

Food going okay - a hotch potch lunch with the kids of sardines on 50/50 wholemeal toast, hummus and carrot sticks, cherries and then a little greek yoghurt with rasberry jam and nuts on top. I rather fancy my yoghurts in those little glass gu pots eaten with a little spoon. Makes a little bit seem very special Wink

P.S. Feed your youngest the cake instead of the ice-cream. Then go hide in the loo.

Thursday done. Cleaner reorganised for tomorrow.

Went out for lunch and thought about it hard before I got there and decided that I was allowed half a piece of something yummy. It seemed to work. Not really feeling any different yet, if anything I felt like my chin was actually bigger this morning and my tummy. It is mornings like that that make me not bothered - but bothered I am as I have told my friend, and my mum now. God - have to do it. It seems to be helping that I have this holiday period in my mind. I am looking forward to looking fab come September.

Stick at it! Just bring me my cup of tea...

Its been a busy few days for me!

Shiney great food. You must love noodles Grin

I've been having yoghurt and various berries for breakfast. Today I have a grapefruit and a fruit yoghurt. I've been having salads for lunches and whatever I've cooked but with less carbs for dinner. It seems to be working.

Cleaning uses calories! I'm trying to clean instead of snack. I can't wait for September. I'll be a stone lighter and my house will be cleaner and more organised Grin Hmm
