Please excuse me if there is a thread specifically about this but I couldn't find one. I'm interested to know after you completed your 30 days, how much weight or how many inches or how many dress sizes you actually lost? I do have the DVD sitting here waiting....and waiting....and waiting.....

I neeeeeed to hear about your amazing results to kick my arse into toning up for my friends wedding in a few months. I have lost a fair bit of weight over the last year through just careful eating and now it's got to the stage where I need to take things up a gear if I want to lose any more, or ideally get myself a slightly better shape!

I'm really interested to hear your results.

It gave me the start of a 6 pack - the lines down the edges of the abs. Toned up my backside & arms & even lifted my boobs (I think thats from the pressups) - it is THE best exercise DVD i have ever done & motivated me to join a gym - where I still go 5 days a week a year later.

Put it in the DVD & do it - you won't regret it I promise.

BTW I lost approx a couple of inches all over - but others have lost more.

Thanks for that! It's a shame no one else seems to have had much of a result with it.

Might be worth popping on to the Shred/JM thread & asking there.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/1188707-2011-shredhead-part-3-and-other-JM-instruments-of-torture

There are threads in sports & exercise and S&B too.

Hi there, I did post on the other shred thread, but these are my results (still ongoing)

Started 13th May & have so far lost 24lbs (want to lose up to around 80lbs in total & expect it will take until Feb next year)
Waist has shrunk by 10.5 cms
Hips 8cms

Been very pleased with my progress so far & have only recently started level 2 & have increased my weights from 0.5 kg to 1kg.

I completed the shred last year (combined with losing 3 and a half stone) and I'm 2/3 of the way through it this year, and my arms are quite lovely - if I was skinnier, they'd be a bit madonnaesque to be honest, but I still have a bit of fat on them, so they look normal. Definite muscle definition though, but not to the point of looking butch.

Other than that, all round muscle tone is great - legs, thighs, midsection etc. If I had been a normal BMI (rather than obese) and realistically, not had children before I started, then I probably would have a 6 pack now. But I don't. I have a mummy tummy lovingly enveloping a 6-pack I swear is there!

I did about 14 days level 1/2 but had to stop cos was too flipping hot here, will be re embarking tomorrow,i use 2kg weights cos was doing weights before.I have lost afew pounds, toned arms and tummy gone down loads-had a baby by section 4 months ago- my fat knees have disappeared too.The best thing for me was the regaining of my fitness,at the begining could hardly do ten jumping jacks by day 7 could do them with ease.

ledker hope you don't mind me butting in - I have HORRENDOUSLY fat knees - they are my worst feature. It means I can't wear skirts at all! And I'm not huge elsewhere - about a size 10-12. Has the DVD honestly got rid of your fat knees? I can grab a handful of fat either side of my knee caps. I have fairly slender thighs but the knee problem just makes my legs awful. I would do anything to have slim knees. I even considered liposuction at one point Hmm. I have the DVD and did about 4 days of it in a row before I got bored and stopped. But if I know that helps I will stick with it. Which exercises do you think helped?

Oh im not sure cos ive generally got normal shaped legs its the baby weight of 2 stone thats generated fat knees but defo better. My dsil has fat ankles-i mean really fat even when she is slender poor thing casnt wear skirts,id have thought with you being slim the knees may need further intervention. Try the shred first tho,i recking the squats and general weight loss have helped mostly tho. hth

How do you get through the pain after day 1, to do day 2??

Report
ledkr · 03/07/2011 18:05

Well you could give it a day to recover,i didnt feel that bad tbh and jsut did it,you could just do it more gently, the buzz when you can complete it after a few days is great tho.

It worked for me! I started it in May when my son was about 3 and a half months old and I wanted to get in bikini-shape for my holiday in two weeks' time. I lost 30 cms from all over (chest, waist, hips, each thigh and each arm) by doing the 30 day shred in 30 consecutive days, even though I was still eating badly. Had a day off at the end and then started again for 15 days but doing each level for 5 days each and with healthier eating and lost 6lbs in 3 weeks and a few more cms.

Have had another week off and have just started again, intending to do level 1/day 1, level 2/day 2, level 3/day 3 and repeating this until I go on holiday.

My arms and thighs are slim and toned, I lost the preggo fat I was carrying on my waist and back and my stomach is almost flat again. I've dropped about a dress size and I feel great, a friend told me I looked "amazing" the other day and it made my day! Go for it!!

mad, dd is 4 months, did you find it a bit of a bind to fit in the shred then a shower, hairdry into an already busy day? I get so sweaty doing it there is no way i couldnt shower, but using the baby's sleeps to do it then leaves my house in disarray.how did you fit it in?

Hi Ledkr, yes, it was all a bit mad. I would take DS downstairs with me and he'd watch me from his chair, Afterwards, I'd turn his chair to face the TV (he was watching the news so I didn't feel so guilty!!) and sneak out the room for a quick shower and hair wash. He actually likes the sound of the dryer so I'd bring him upstairs for it.
