SoloIsAHotCougar When I had a gallstone attack it would usually last for about 4/5 hours and felt like someone had a fist gripping my inside, a tightening.Would be impossible to get comfortable and when it was really bad I would be lying on the floor, reminded me of labour. I think it started off not so bad and got worse tho - was a while ago so trying to remember. Mght be worth checking out if the pain was pretty bad I would say. HTH

Thanks Joltec (call me solo :)) Yes to the gripping and feeling like labour; that's exactly what I was thinking this afternoon! Felt like I was in labour.

Glad you like it PA. :)

Hi all, I am have been pauling just over a week now. I've posted intermittently- the thread moves so fast that its hard to keep up!!

Huge congratulations to everyone with losses and changes to past behaviours. Also a big thank you to everyone for making this thread so upbeat and supportive, I'm finding it pretty inspirational.

The headaches I had initially have gone- I think they were due to the shock of not drip feeding myself sugar in various forms all day!! I am doing OK, have lost a little over 2lb so I am pleased.

The most amazing thing though is the way this 'diet' has made me look at my past behaviour around food. I have realised a lot of things about my eating habits. I have a lot to learn (and loose) though.

Solo was the painkiller that you took yesterday a 'neurofen' type? I have suffered with crippling heartburn in the past (been literally floored like Joltek). I have found that neurofen type painkillers can set off an attack. Its just a thought. I hope you feel better soon.

Hi Stickwithit :) They're a good bunch here aren't they?! :)

No, it's an opiate type pain killer ~ Tramadol and was supposed to be for the chronic pain I'm suffering due to my ME. I'm sitting here in bed, holding my breath and twisting my legs/feet...arghhhhhhhh!!

Crap! now I'm hungry just as I was going to sleep. If I eat something, I might get the chest pain back. What to do...drink of water maybe?

yay, new thread, marking my place

I have had a bit of a naughty weekend - many temptations including my usual downfall - too much wine
BUT I have lost 9lbs in 4 weeks woohoo (weighin before I was naughty so I am going to keep away from the scales for a while)

tomorrow is another day - hooray!

Hi all

Sorry I've been away for so long. I've been lurking and not posting mainly but it's inspirational to hear how you're all doing. I'm about 70% good - generally getting it during the week and going to pot at the weekend. We had friends over for Sunday lunch today - the last ones went about 8pm after a whole afternoon of lingering over food and wine (started eating at 2pm). Didn't have any dinner tonight though.

That is fairly unusual though - and it was a lovely afternoon just chatting and catching up.

Hi to all the newbies - really glad the thread is growing so much. Even if I don't follow the rules 100%, I'm really happy when I follow the rules most of the time, because at least then I don't put weight on.

Someone recommended I come here, as I'm trying to lose weight using this system. I have the book, and have even read part of it (apparently self-help books don't work by osmosis from the bookshelf). I need to retrain myself so I know when I am actually hungry, and when I am empty for other reasons (depression being the main one).

Hello Staying. Really pleased to see you on this thread. I've noticed you on a couple of fatty bashing threads where you have been very eloquent about the causes of weight gain and the reasons why it is hard to lose weight. At the risk of repeating myself can I reiterate something which totally resonated with me when I went to the PM seminar in feb: if you are overweight, it is not because you are a bad person, it's just because you have picked up some poor eating habits.

Welcome Staying. I've not been doing this long but I think learning to recognise real stomach hunger is a great place to start.

Solo I am thinking of you as I know how very painful heart burn can be. My GP told me stomach acid is as strong as battery acid- no wonder it can hurt! I have found lying down can make the pain worse. Hope you get some sleep soon.

Typing on phone at the moment so not able to write an essay but happy to elaborate at a later stage... Good luck with the new thread everyone!

Juicyolive if you mean you are happy to elaborate sometime about what you were taught at the seminar then I for one would be very very grateful- anything you can teach me would be very gratefully received!!
