Anyone else 5 foot 4, under 10 stone and want to lose just a little bit of weight?

I have looked on a few other threads but most people have got a couple of stone or more to lose so I feel a bit out of place.

Wanted to start a support and weigh in thread for people in a similar position to me who only want to lose about a stone.

yes me. Am 5 foot 3 and a bit, 9 stone 5, and want to be 9 stone. Or even the 9 stone 2 I was forever and ever and ever.

I know it's only a couple of pounds but cannot shift them. Am trying to see validity in the theory that I run much more than I used to, but as I have ALWAYS exercised I just don't buy that TBH...

Am using Myfitnesspal.com and have just started a thread on it...

I mean if I ate chocolate, biscuits, crisps, drank masses, I would understand it but I rarely do.....

Is it time to just accept I am 36 with 2 kids and this is the weight I am supposed to be now?

I am also 36 (have 3 kids) have been on diet since October (when I stopped breastfeeding DS2) now finally 9 stone (am 5 foot 4) BUT had to cut down on carbs significantly to get there (1200 calores and low carb). Not sure yet if its worth it or if I can maintain it.

5 foot 4 and a bit. 10 stone 1 pound. Had to look up a conversion table! Think I am aiming for 9 stone something.

I was 12 5 in October but that was post pregnancy and breastfeeding (put on whole stone whilst BFing).

Initially did tesco diets, basically 1200 calories - encouraged good food choices but ate carbs (tried to make these brown ones and smallish servings) but at around 10 4 or so reached plateau, switched to low fat and carb (but not ketosis diet - I eat starchy veggies, but not potatoes, I eat fat free dairy, and occasional indulgence like dark chocolate) and same calories and easily lost rest. Could loose more if I wanted to eg was 8 12 this morning - still loosing 1lb a week if I follow diet.

GoddessBlossom - yes am training for sprint triathlon - 3 gym sessions a week - mainly cardio - running, cycling and swimming. Also do some toning at home, went through phase of doing shred, and phase of doing ea sports active on wii.

Don't drink any calories.....

Can i join? I am also 5 foot four and a bit and about 10 and a half stone (shudder - I had to convert that cause I am metric usually and thought it would be less) I am 39 have 4 kids, the youngest 14 months and breastfeeding.
I want to just eat and move like a slim person and miraculously end up around 9 and a half stone or so.
If only it were easy! I am daunted by foreveronadiet's determination!
I seem stuck around my current weight and I'm not good at denial but I'm feeling nervous that if I don't start getting this thing sorted now I'll end up middle aged and barrel shaped - NOOOOO!!!
When do you ladies with several kids find time to do exercise??????!

I'm the shortest so far Grin at 4'11 and I'm just over 9 and a half stone.

Would like to get down to between 8 and 8 and a half stone. Only have 2 dc's (both c-sections) , but what with running my own business , running the house and working as a mid-day superviser at the local school I end up grabbing food here and there, rather than 'proper' meals, the only proper meal I eat is dinner when we all sit down together .

All the walking keeps me fit though- my main downfall is Pepsi- I don't like the diet drinks, although I cut that right out last weekend, so I'm hoping by not drinking that and eating proper low fat meals I'll be able to shift the weight and tone up a bit.

Also got a wii fit , that I don't use enough,so hoping by getting on that more I may be able to tone up a bit.

Not sure about why the determination - initially was because I was disgusted with myself at how huge I was, and I find it impossible to diet when BFing as am starving the whole time. Now its easy because its actually been quite easy and quick, although have been dieting now since October! ALso my stomach has shrunk so not hungry and I like to eat healthy foods. Also haven't had IBS incident since diet started, I get extreme upset stomach when I overeat.

I need a reason like that - what a fantastic roll. I need to get back into the groove again. I seem to be in the mode of feeling like every meal will be my last. Why is that? I know I am tired atm but it is frustrating that eating better and exercising more can help that...just finding it hard to get the balance right.
I am going to start by canning the biscuit with my tea once the kids are in bed - baby steps.

Forever. I also take my virtual hat off to you. I can have iron will when I choose, but not when it comes to alcohol. I drink a glass of wine most nights, more at weekends.

Am also training for a tri, but only the swim third, but run at the gym twice a week as well plus weights.

Refuse to deny myself life's good things completely, just need my self image to catch up to the reality of a good life of nice things = being 4 or 5 pounds heavier than my 'ideal' ... Grin

I need to lose another 3-4 kg and I'm really struggling with the last bit.

I'm finding it v hard to fit in the exercise. I work FT and dh works on the weekend so I am only managing to get to gym about once every 2 weeks when I force myself out of bed early on a sat/sun (before dh goes to work!).

Am walking rather than getting the bus for the last leg of my journey to and from work but it's not enough really. Frustrating.

Can I join too, I am 5ft 3 and weigh 9 stone, I would really like to be about 8.5 stone like I was last summer because most of my work trousers no longer fit me.
Until recently I was running my dog 3-4 times a week but am injured so am not able to do so, however I still eat the same amount if not more.

So, to get the weight off I have to also go on about 1200 calories a day which sounds horrific. Will look forward to hearing how everyone else is doing as it may motivate me to stop these bad habits I have acquired!

Not a good weekend so far. We made American pancakes for the children's breakfast and I could not resist having a few. I need to get out walking to burn them off.

Can I ask a question? Where do you carry your excess weight? Mine is all on my hips and I am finding it so hard to shift. I was 70 kilos in January and shifted the 1st 6 kilos quickly but am finding myself stuck here at 64 kilos. I so want to get back to 58 kilos.

Weight is on thighs and bum. Was on hips too but now with weight down to 9 stone hips looking good.

I have a pot belly and huge thighs where my weight is sitting. My waist is the same size as my hips. I don't put weight on anywhere else. Am a classic heart attack waiting to happen! (and high cholesterol runs in my family so I do have to be careful).

I was also stuck on 65kg for bloody ages but made a real push to get to 63kg but tbh, I will have to really up the exercise to get to 60kg where I need to be grrr!

Just under 5 foot 4 here and just under 9 stone. Want to get back to 8 1/2 stone, I was there but it's started to creep back up again. I'm 35 have 4DC youngest is 12 mo and still BFing.

I'm very slight built, have very skinny arms, back, calves etc all the weight hangs round my bum and hips.

I'm 5ft 4" and weigh about 10st 5lbs. I am 5 months pregnant though. But know after I give birth in September I'll be trying to get back down to 9st 4lbs ish which is my comfortable weight. You'll all be done by then I expect but I'll come back and read how you did it. I really struggle to lose weight when bfing so will need all the help I can get.
